IV Song Removal Due to Licenses expiring.

This song better not be removed from the EFLC version of Vladivostok

NeonDolphin

I kinda love how people don't even know which tracks are going to be removed (or which ones will be added) and they're already going crazy over it.

Because we don't support ANY removal regardless of our likings and tastes in music.

I also thought Vladivostok could've had better songs and some from Poland/Croatia, more Ukrainian. But what's done it's done.

In 5 years, Take-two will re-license GTA V music to please online kids and continue milking shark cards.

Yeah, they won't dare to touch Radio LS for sure. Not sure about much better music on other stations tho.

As odd as the format change was (until the post on the previous page shed some light on it), I'd become the living embodiment of Dwayne Forge if the EFLC portion of Vladivostok was changed in any way (especially if How Would U Feel, Put Em High, or The Weekend were removed). I'll be backing up my audio folders for sure.

Will this music epidemic affect PS3 users? If so, please notify me so I can somehow back the files up and keep the music.

I'm pretty sure you can decline the option to download patches after launching the game on PS3/360, but anybody on Xbox One should be sure to disable automatic updates.

Recreation of how R* and Take two tried to renew the songs licenses

R*: the discographies are slippery. Theyre frozen shot

Take Two: let me have a try...

The only thing I hate about EFLC's Vladivostok FM is how pretty much none of the songs are from Eastern Europe, like the GTA IV station.

A fun fact from the GTA Wikia is that this inconsistency is based on real life. The New York Russian Pop station that Vladivostok FM was based on, WNYZ-LP, changed its format to Electronic Dance and relaunched as Pulse 87 in February 2008, when GTA IV was practically done but before TBoGT was made.

I think I now know which style of songs will replace the glorious slavness of Vladivostok FM.

This sucks, Vladivostok getting butchered would be a huge hit to the feel of the game. Definitely gonna avoid updating this on the 360. What a great way to celebrate the 10 year anniversary smh.

A few more weeks to go now before we can at least see what these new songs have to offer and if they are even pre 2008, i wonder how it will effect Gay Tonys club music, even if we got a lazy PS4/Xbox one port with minor differences Id be happy because Id enjoy going for 100% achievements again

Does Xbox One force you to update... like even if you turn Offline off? If so then I guess they just took my money and ran with it because I damn sure won't be playing BC IV ever again if so, depending on which tracks they remove.

You actually have to get back online again. Usually when I'm offline, I play IV. And so called BC doesn't let me play the game after a moment of time, I think 30 days. Just so the license could be renewed, its like an update to the game . For example, if you go offline, you put in a game, it tells you it needs an internet connection to download. Basically the program wants to make sure you actually own the game. SO BC for XBO sucks in that aspect.

Well, my solution for those who have both family xbox consoles are play with the "new songs" on Xone and play offline with the original songs on X360. That's the only way I see to don't loose the original game songs and at the same time listen the new songs

Hope most of the kickass tracks from The Lost and Damned will remain, unless they get replaced... if so, they better get some good f*cking replacement tunes.

Let's hope so, because I'm sick to death of this castrated pop rock from GTA V making me feel like I'm going through midlife crisis, and half of dozen generic rap stations thrown in, playing basically the same crap.

I have really bad feelings about this. I can understand re-releases not featuring certain licensed tracks, but if all digitally registered versions are affected with this new downgrade and in some cases we can not refuse to install the patch, we're being basically depraved of content we've paid for in the past - that's how it feels, even though legally it may be, well, legal. Just imagine purchasing an album, and then you receive an email saying one of its songs was replaced.

Steam versions of Vice City and San Andreas already felt like a slap in the face with their cut songs and no improvements/fixes whatsoever. No Ozzy, No Jackson, no RatM, and absolutely nothing compensating these losses, like, I don't know, maybe achievements, which were featured on PS3/PS4/360 releases? Or maybe some tweaks to make these games playable on modern hardware? Asking for not messed up frame limiter or support for modern screen resolutions and ratios doesn't seem like much, does it?

But okay, I said re-releases are a different thing, and as lazy as these two were, you still can play the original retail versions of VC and SA, enjoying them in their full glory. With GTA IV, I have no idea how that'd work. The worst thing now is the uncertainty and lack of any proper information regarding this patch. It's easy to get angry by even thinking of this sudden change, not knowing what consequences it'll have on us.

Either way, I have both Steam and retail copies of GTA IV, so if R* f-s up again, I'll just play the original versionthe next time I revisit the game.

Thank god I have the physical Xbox 360 copy.

Can I install that copy on Xbox One or do I have to install the update there to start the game later?

No, it will always download the store version after you inserted the disc, so do it now before R* releases the patch.

Alright, thank you.

But what happens when the patch is out? Can I avoid it, or do I have to install the patch on Xbox One to start up the game?

Yes, it should work. I also disabled auto updates and i was able to play Red Dead Redemption without the 4k update.

This just proves that Rockstar sh*ts on GTA IV and it's fans. They don't give a flying f*ck about us and would love to force us to play GTA sh*tline and pay them for Shark Cards or something. I have stayed at 1.0.7.0 and never bothered updating, and I won't. f*cking greedy capitalists.

Hey, while Rockstar is at it how about adding the weapons from TLAD & TBoGT to vanilla IV...

I wanna run around with Niko carrying that big ass Heavy MG from TBoGT.

You gotta be kidding. Cockstar would NEVER do that :(

From what I've heard 1.0.8.0 isn't really that bad. The only issue is that Scripthook doesn't work, and everybody is too afraid to violate its "copyright," and decompile the source code and rewrite it for Patch 8. Which more so is an issue on the community/author's side than Rockstar.

Yep, probably PS3 users will be affected... In theory in the next days when you start the game you'll see a message saying that you can download GTA IV's digital soundtrack before 26th April... This is only a rumor, so take this with a grain of salt.

Actually, Scripthook was already fixed, it was just under the radar for a couple of months (friend found out about it via FiveM dev a month ago). Now, all we need is someone to take the open sourced scripthookDOTNET and fix that as well.

Note. Doesn't work for 1.1.3.0 (EFLC).

Remember these jams? I swear to Christ, they better not touch these.

Funny because I always thought the latter fit more on EFLC's rendition of Vladivostok than IV's.

Why is everyone on pc here not on patch 8 btw?It did fix a lot of bugs.

It also broke some other stuff...and it appears to have dialed back the shadows slightly. (Check out the lack of the mesh shadow under the Broker rail)

Anyway...I am on 1.0.8.0 until I can be bothered to downgrade to 1.0.7.0. Really hoping the downgrade fixes the annoying as f*ck flickering water. Really takes all the fun out of boating.

Do we have any news on exactly what tracks are getting removed yet?

Hmmm nice bike

Remember these jams? I swear to Christ, they better not touch these.

Man, I remember seeing that trailer for the first time when it featured that Seryoga song. And I think this other song by him on the soundtrack was custom made for the game, so this one might actually be one of the few (if not the only) tracks that Rockstar doesn't have to remove from Vladivostok FM.

I also really enjoyed this song. It has a very dark "Soviet Union nearing its collapse" kind of sound to it.
