IV Song Removal Due to Licenses expiring.

Can you launch GTA IV after the update? I try to start it but I'm always stuck in a black screen... Fortunately I made a complete backup.

Steam is downloading the update as we speak...little does it know the folder it's going to drop the update files into is...completely empty!

My GTA4 install is safe and sound in a renamed folder.

That's only because OpenIV doesn't know the files' names. If you discover them and insert in the AudioTracks.xml file, the proper name will appear.

I can't belive they removed tracks from The Classics! My go to radio station! Well, I'm just happy that they didn't remove I Got It Made and Supa Star.

I'm also glad that they haven't touched EFLC's Liberty Rock Radio, as that's my go to for TLAD and TBoGT.

BUT!

None of this outweighs the fact that Schweine by Glukoza was removed! Now what am I going to listen to in Roman's Taxi during The Cousins Bellic?

Goddamn, what a way to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Remove some iconic songs from the soundtrack. Schwiene being gone sucks already because that's the first song you ever heard, but no more ELO, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins or Stevie Nicks on LRR?!?! And no more Angel & Khriz on San Juan Sounds! For some reason, not a lot of people liked that station, but I actually enjoyed it, and Ven Bailalo was a song I heard all the time in real life back then.

Now I'm really glad that my 360 isn't hooked up to the internet anymore. Seriously, Rockstar has the money to make a new playlist for the Russian station but can't afford to license anything else after all that money Shark Cards and V made them?

Why? Just rename your folder. Steam will happily drop the files into an empty folder it *thinks* is GTA4. Then you can just copy over paul.dll and continue playing online (or not).

I was feeling okay last night, but now knowing they removed Evil Woman and 1979 from LRR .. holy crap that is unacceptable. Those two songs are so important to the settings, aesthetic, and feeling of immersion in IV.

Because I like to overcomplicate stuff that I don't need to cuz I'm too lazy to use Google, thanks for the tip anyways.

Untested downgrader (since my IV is broken, it black screened after logos even before update)

Over writes the updated gxts and dat files with the old one, binary patches the radio RPFs to old one. Doesnt touch the paul.dll (launcher?), since it should do much difference.

Just extract to your IV folder and run intall.bat

Well for me it seems my Xbox 360 physical copy of GTA IV & Episodes from Liberty City The Complete Edition hasn’t got the update. First song I heard after loading in was Edge of Seventeen and I’m hearing 1979 playing now as I’m typing up this post. Dunno if having a save made me dodge the bullet or the update is still on it’s way.
