Honest, genuine interest - those on PC, do you or have you bought a Shark Card? If so, why, and if not, the same?

This is not a PC vs console debate thread, so please kindly f*ck off if you're not here to discuss the topic and/or just want to troll. I'd like just one thread on this forum regarding PC not to devolve into petty comments, thanks.

Played on PC. Didn't buy a single cardo.
Never actually was in need of money for the past 2 years. I don't really like 70% of content, so that means i don't buy much stuff.

No, because there is no insurance on pc i have to pay and my playstyle doesn´t need much money. I play mostly with helicopters and planes, which negates ammo costs to almost nothing. I earn enough money and don´t spend very much, maybe 100k in a very long and intense session. But during these long sessions i get around 400-500k, which is still a big plus.

No. Because I liked the challenge when I just started. And now, when I got tired from challenges, I don't purchase them because of R* not being good sport.

I'm playing on PC (my Laptop, to be exact), and I've bought shark cards. The first was included in my edition of the game; the second time was during last year's Cyber Monday, when discounts and cash-bonus combined to a halfway acceptable deal, actually.

I've just started playing GTAO last summer, and there was simply too much basic stuff out there (office and such) and some extras for me to buy, and since I cannot compete in public lobbies and simply lack friends for heists I keep missing out the majority of in-game $-opportunities (thankee R*, for constantly spitting peaceful loners like me in the face, by the way, making the love I have for this game a tough one indeed...) - it would at that time have taken too long for me to catch up with all those past DLCs, and new stuff coming up, so I finally took this little shortcut. I understand why people get mad about people like me feeding the "greedy R*-machine", but there it is. I enjoy the game in my special way and didn't mind paying. As I noted in other threads, I would gladly agree to a monthly subscription if that opened content for me without having to deal with toxic folks in public freemode.

I don't plan on buying another shark card any time soon, however. I don't need much of the new stuff, and my personal grinding program produces humble yet steady income and keeps me afloat. Let's see what next Cyber Monday brings...

Buying sharks cards, while it could be seemed as a valiant act of supporting the game, it is also complying with R* shady acts in this game to sell more of them.

Acts like making weaponized vehicles more powerful in their specific missions in order to attract more potential shark card buyers.

Constantly throwing more weaponized vehicles in the game that changes the dynamics of free mode.

Jacking up the prices of new DLC cars, cars that shouldn't cost more than 100k if they were brought to the game before the prices inflation.

Also adding overpowered vehicles to car classes that costs over a million, to make racers buy them and be more inclined to buy shark cards.

To top it off, be OK with them charging over the game's price on a bundle pack that gives you a bunch of very undesirable vehicles that aren't worth sh*t nowadays, and the worst office/bunker/clubhouse/business/facility combo as possible that makes earning money a pain in the ass because of their bad location.

Oh yeah, let's not forget the constant and very annoying advertisement that spams our phone in free mode to make us buy stuff.

-

I cannot, in good mind, look at all of that and still buy shark cards.

Thats the video game equivalent of paying for sex at the Playboy mansion

OR just paying for a playboy subscription nowadays, when you could just access any porn site on the Internet for free.

I hereby confess... I have bought shark cards. A few times. Most were on sale, some were not. Majority of my money is earned from grinding (such as right now with the 2x bunker), but I sometimes get OCD about my dropping below a certain amount, and I end up getting a shark card because I didn't feel like grinding at that point. I convinced myself that I'm showing some love to the employees of Rockstar by supporting their hard work creating new DLC's.

I will accept my punishment now. :(

I would never spend rl money for a virtual money that can be stolen by hackers, if only R* had dedicated servers, maybe.

Even though I have limited time to play and enough money to waste on GTA$ I wouldn't be able to waste my money on GTA$ on PC then end up in a lobby full of cheaters who got billions with one click of a mod menu option.

If every player was legit or the game had a working anti-cheat so we could play without worrying about cheaters I probably would have bought one or two when I was starting out on PC. The grind was real back then but now I have enough to be happy.

I did buy 2 Megalodons 2 years ago. But there was a 50% Bonus on them and i bought them for only 45 euro each not directly from Greedstar.

It was 24 million for 90 euro.

If no one would have bought the fishcards the game support would have stopped years ago.

I've been on these forums for years, but alas, no I'm no R* employee. I'm just interesting in hearing what people feel about shark cards on the PC, what with the recent bout of hacking and false bannings going on.

With a prices for shark cards, if I ever wanted to get all the content I already have, I would have spent over $2000. Never actually got one, $100 may get me another game and not a Yacht in GTA. I don't mind shark cards per se, but the prices are out of hand. Either content should be cheaper in general, or amount of shark currency should be increased for the price. There is a third option: start selling actually useful packs of content, not the sh*t like Criminal mastermind starter pack which is pathetic.

No!

First of all I prefer to play the game and progress acordingly.

Second of all, I sure as hell wont give R* more money then the amount that I payed for the game because of their consumer unfriendly bussiness practics.

Third of all, the prices are ridiculous. 90 euro wont even buy you half a dlc these days.

Of course, not. Because they give us tiny update like SSASSS(what a name :/) and they stretch it for big period of time.

Besides that, most of the last content it's not for me like GR, DH, SR. I'm interested in only things that include cars.

So, I hope they will stop the updates for this game and focus on GTA 6.

I don't like them and im thankfull for them. On the one hand, they gave us "free" updates. On the other hand, they killed quality.

PC: No. Why pay real money for something when you have no rights as a consumer and R* can ban you for no reason and make your Shark Cards totally worthless?

on console id consider it if i had a sh*tload of disposable income but on pc? where you might just have it all taken away randomly? lol

also, pretty sure you can pay a modder a few quid for all the money you could ever want.

also, regarding the pricing, it's pretty sh*t even at its best ( like £50 for 17 mil) which is rare, that wouldn't even get you the contents of one dlc.

No, never. But that has nothing to do with me being on PC. I just don't like where R* is heading... from people favorites to EA lvls of scumbaggery just in couple years? And you want me to pay extra money for that?

Basically every dlc:

- 4 years or reused content from singleplayer and heists. Cause thats easier then creating something new.

- Wasted opportunities

- Cheap tricks to sell SC and waste your time. Like orbital cannons, bulletproof sponges, intentionally tedious sell missions and so on.

- "R* logic" exists for a reason.

- Money wipes and banwaves on legit players and yet scriptkidos with lvl 9000 are running wild, never affected by R* anticheat... Worst online security I ever seen.

- Terrible support (you have to create around 15-20 tickets cause usually they just ignore you)

- Same copypasted business mechanics

- Same vehicles over and over again. Cause its easier to copypaste a vehicle then create something new.

- Same outfits over and over again with badly placed camos. Cause its easier to copypaste new textures then create something new.

- If something can be used for trolling then balancing will be completely ignored for years. (cause destroyed cargo=bigger sharcard sells)

Remember how many years we had to deal with jetgriffers and they never never did a think about it? It took them years to add anything that could counter them.

AND instead of nerfing jets they just added explosive rounds and oppressors - just to be sure that trolling will survive. Cause trolling keeps sharkcards save...

Do I rly should pay extra money for that? "Best selling game of all time" and thats rly all they can do with it?

They abandoned single player story for online but still - that online content is... medicore at best it comparison to the quality we had before. It looks like it was maybe by "the B team" or interns...

I expected way more from R*.

long story short - I don't think what we received (content quality+treatment in all those years) was worth real money.

I can pay for quality content like story mode and map expansions, not for what we got so far.

Bought on console and PC.

Even buy on PC after solo farming.

But then... R* took 600k legit cash when I've never cheated, hacked or accepted mod money.

So now, I won't be buying shark cards. And considering how R* has been banning, un-banning, re-banning then unbanning players who claim not to be cheaters and they have said nothing or made no mention of their mistakes.

Why risk paying real world cash only to have it ripped away and a generic 'yeah, our algorithm said you cheated so we banned you... I mean we got no proof...but yeah...you banned'

These are the reason number one/uno/#1/1st to NEVER EVER buy shark cards because R* can ban you anytime due to their f*cked up anti-cheat system.

Once you bought shark card(s) and you got banned, well, you can say goodbye to it because R* will never give all the cash back after ban/unban/re-ban/re-un-ban/ban-ban-ban-ban-hammerthormjolnir-assgardbanhammer-loki-took-over-assbangard.

F**k that. Back in the day they could probably get you a few nice things etc. but with prices so high now, they're barely worth anything and definitely not worth the money you put into them.
