What are the top 5 OP weapons for PvP?

Yellow Dog with Cone

The Orbital Cannon isn't even a weapon, it's just a "f*ck you very much" button for $750k per shot.

If there's a single item in the game that shows how wrong things are in the current "meta" is the Orbital Cannon.

It barely has a very situational counter, you don't know if you're on its sights, there's no warning whatsoever.

The only times I have been Orbital Cannoned is because of salty players who can't get even with the "score" with more legit ways.

Orbital Cannon? More like Butthurt Cannon amiright?

For real. I automatically send people a XD message if they orbital cannon me; it's a sure sign that they are mad as hell because they bit off more than they could chew, and the orbital cannon is their weapon of last resort to try to feel like they didn't lose the battle.

Orbital cannon isn't op at all wtf is wrong with you all. It has 50 mins cooldown and cost half a million dollar.

My list is : 1.Explosive sniper,

2.Hydra/lazer if your enemy isn't in any other jets (or worse pilot than you) or have no explosive ammo,

And that's it. Deluxo and oppressor are only good for cheap kills, the other like regular guns or pyro starling etc you need skill to invest. The 2 in the above are still op in certain situations.

...

It's still an instant kill on any player anywhere on the map unless they are passive or in an interior. They get no warning whatsoever that it's coming. Yes there are limitations on its use, but it is completely un-counterable except by the strategy of always staying indoors or in passive anytime someone is in a facility. That is ridiculously OP even for a weapon you can only use once every 50 minutes.

Yeah I don't see the orbital strike as a big threat. Worst case scenario is a sale mission gets nuked, you force close immediately for a tiny loss.

Aside from that I consider it a huge and hilarious compliment to be OS'd. I don't even try to avoid it.

I think it's pretty sh*tty that people have to use workarounds like that for a problem created solely because Rockstar wants to extract money from players who have lots and lots of glitched cash. But what do I know.

GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

100% the Deluxo. I was in a session the other night when I got killed by one so I got mine and killed everything including jets and tanks but the only times I got killed was by another Deluxo and most of the time we were killing each other at the same time.

The Deluxo has other weaknesses. Stromberg generally will out-duel it since its missiles are almost as good and it's armored. The Oppressor and Vigilante can take it out sometimes although the Deluxo is clearly better than both. The Ruiner has essentially the same missiles so you can use it for mutually assured destruction (or start Fully Loaded for clear superiority). You can get well above the Deluxo in a jet, then just divebomb it with explosive rounds; only problem is that's small enough that it can be hard to see until you're right on top of it.

I also like to stalk Deluxos in the Akula (while in stealth mode of course). Get behind it and fairly close, then turn off stealth and spam missiles at them. This works very often in my experience.

Of course, being on foot and using auto-aim always works, but only if the driver is dumb enough to fly low. However, my real preference is to use the explosive heavy sniper. Couple of shots and that Deluxo is done, and now that the speed glitch is patched, that car is a really easy target to snipe.

IdRatherBeFlying

1. Pyro. Nothing can outmaneuver it and it instantly takes out any unarmored ground vehicle with it's precision missile spam. While it can't easily kill a skilled pilot in other planes it can't be killed by those other aircraft either due to it's superior maneuverability. You can engage deluxos and oppressors on your own terms and they should be fairly easy kills. Any heli is an instant kill (fly at them aiming to pass about 20 feet above them while spamming rockets). The Pyro also has the fastest speed of any vehicle below 1000 feet so it can catch up to or outrun anything in the game.

2. Deluxo. Except for the Pyro it's hard to stop a Deluxo. Definitely the most annoying vehicle to go up against

3. Lazer. Except for the explosive sniper and other Lazers the Lazer has few fatal opponents. Ridiculous range, power and impact radius of the explosive cannon is still OP as hell. Pyro's, Rogues and Nokotas will keep you busy fighting for your life but you should survive, go passive or at least be able to bail in time.

4. Explosive Sniper. If you're on the ground this is your OP weapon. Period.

5. Nokota. Similar to the Pyro with precision rocket spam but in a slower prop plane.

Honorable mention:

The Rogue was #1 when it first came out but It seems they nerfed it within a few days to rapidly lose speed when manuvering. When it first appeared you could easily stay locked behind a Lazer no matter what they did. Now not so much. The explosive canon is much more limited than the Lazer but still quite useful, even against ground targets if you can fly close.

3. Colt Python 357 Magnum/S&W 586 357 Magnum

4.Colt 1911 45ACP

5. Colt Detective Special .38 Special

Honorable mention Walther PPK .32ACP, Makarov 9x18, AK 47, Glock 17/19, HK USP 45 and many others...

Oh, wait. We don't have ANY of these cool weapons in the game. Can you read this Rockstar?

I have never been blown up by an Orbital Cannon so far but I will be flattered to be killed by one considering how pathetic the user will look like since they cannot even the score in proper PvP combat and also have to pay a hefty $750k per shot just to get a single kill on me.

Back on topic, I can only think Combat Shotgun and Marksman Rifle are OP for PvP. If MkII upgraded weapons are taken into consideration as well then Heavy Sniper with Explosive Round should be added into the list.

Most of the tools have weaknesses, so it's incorrect to say that anything is OP in 100% of situations. If you do, that means you haven't met a skilled player yet.

For example, I can't understand why people consider Deluxo as an OP vehicle in this thread. Deluxo is a joke to me, there are so many ways to kill this thing.

Hydra / Lazer eat Khanjali, Avenger, MOC, Deluxo, Chernobog, all the helicopters, pretty much any ground target (including the armored ones). All because of divebombing. Oppressors are harder to kill, but I still manage to do it.

Stromberg eats Deluxos, Oppressors, sometimes Buzzards

Deluxo eats Buzzards, Oppressors

Pyro eats Hydra, Lazer. Not that good against armored ground vehicles.

Starling eats Hydra, Lazer, ground targets on-foot, sometimes Explosive Snipers

Chernobog eats Oppressors, Pyros, Starlings, Deluxos, all the helicopters. Not that good against Jets.

APC eats Deluxo (if positioned wisely) and ground targets on-foot

Khanjali eats ground targets on-foot, Explosive Snipers, Marksman Rifle, Minigun, APC

Fully Loaded Ruiner eats Oppressors, Deluxos, Strombers, Buzzards, sometimes Hydra / Lazer

Oppressor eats Explosive Snipers (with a skilled rider), APC, sometimes Khanjali

Explosive Sniper eats Deluxo, Hydra, Lazer, pretty much any plane, Buzzard. Not good against ground weaponized vehicles.

Marksman Rifle eats Fully Loaded Ruiner, Explosive Sniper (on even ground)

Minigun eats Fully Loaded Ruiner, Insurgents

MOC eats Minigun, Marksman Rifle, Explosive Sniper, Oppressor (you need to drive in reverse, since the windows are not bulletproof)

Avenger eats ground targets on-foot (Explosive Sniper, Marksman Rifle) and Hydra/Lazer/Pyro on the top altitude

Orbital Cannon eats everything, if you are using a trick to shoot it for FREE without any cooldowns (requires a friend)

Have you noticed that aside from the Hydra, the Lazer, the Marksman Rifle, the Minigun and maybe the Stromberg and APC, the rest of the vehicles and weapons on your list are behind a paywall of some sort, like having to buy a property in order to be able to buy them, store them or upgrade them?

Blasterman4EVER

Rather than trying to convolute the discussion, I'm going to assume you mean weapons your character can hold in their hands and carry on them and use without being in a vehicle:

Heavy sniper MK2 with explosive rounds
Combat MG MK2 with the ammo that damages vehicles faster
Homing launcher
RPG

Shotgun MK2 with explosive rounds

I typed them as fast as I could think of them so I might change one or two.

Perhaps some of you could actually try answering the OP's question. Ugh.

I guess? So what? It doesn't relate to their effectiveness.

He's making a tangential point about something that is massively wrong with the game. Showing how they flirt with pay-to-win designs by locking newer and more powerful weapons behind massive in-game costs that tempt anyone trying to keep up with the Joneses to buy a shark card.

By the way, the Stromberg and APC are also effectively behind paywalls. You can't upgrade them without owning an Avenger or MOC, which also requires owning either a bunker or a facility. And the APC requires research unlocks via the bunker if you want it operating at full capacity.

Stromberg comes with weapons by default.

Well, you don't have to have everything. The combination of two or three tools is more than enough.

For example, Khanjali + Explosive Sniper makes a very powerful combination.

Also, newer != more powerful. The old Hydra is pretty effective against everything, since, as you said, the Explosive Sniper is under paywall and not every player has it.
