Ballistic equipment - does it have any ingame use beside molesting low levels ?

Maybe someone knows something, bcs this days some of topics made game "fun" again from different view - like using avenger for 3 crates, titan for bikes...

It's the most useless thing I've ever seen. There should be next to no restrictions for using it in any freemode mission unless it involves carrying freemode event objectives or something.

For god's sake, it's almost as worthless as the Chernobog in terms of versatility. Can't even be used to spice up any missions or events at all.

What really confuses me iswhy we have to research Ballistic Equipment in the first place just to be able to buy it from the Internet anyway?

 

I mean, we even steal Ballistic Equipment from the army sometimes.

 

The whole Research mechanic was stupid as f*ck, I'm glad it didn't came back with recent updates.

 

- Boss, we came up with a new disruptive camouflage pattern that you could use with your vehicles, but we need the funds to develop it first.

 

- Sure, what do you need?

 

- We need you to steal a tank, an APC and some experimental Railguns.

 

- Why do you need all that stuff? There is a way to accelerate the process?

 

- Sure, you can pay $225k so we can download the pattern from the internet.

 

- At least can you tell me what kind of camo is?

 

- It's zebra camo.

 

- ...

Apparently you can have a friend open the back of his cargobob or similar, get dropped off at the yacht and do piracy prevention with it.

 

Certainly works out saving money on ammo if you are going to use the mingun a fair bit.

It's impractical and borderline useless, but atleast it's quite cheap. You used to be able to do a glitch with the ballistic equipment so you could use the minigun inside your bunker and complete those shooting range challenges quick and easy but now that the glitch has been patched.....

I sometimes (pretty rarely) use it on people wiggling and spamming the marksman rifle at me.

 

I think you should be able to use it in all VIP work. I mean, sometimes it can get activated somewhere, and then you can't even use it. Also, being able to enter vehicles with it would be good. I'd probably wear it while flying a helicopter then. Could survive going down just about (probably), and be less vulnerable in helicopters with big windows.

It's semi-good but still useless nonetheless. Only advantage I see is that unlimited minigun.

 

My idea for the Juggernaut originally was that it was customizable and in turn an ordinary saved outfit that in turn gave the benefit of extra health/resilience against explosive/ballistic weapons in exchange for slow mobility and inability to get in vehicles and use combat roll

 

A player would have a choice of wearing it for advantages but hampered by the disadvantages or wear their normal outfit to fight without any disadvantages. But no, R* wouldn't even let us use it in CEO/VIP work

Exactly. Never been my thing personally but works wonders with some friends of mine. When the men start being "difficult" again and refuse doing proper jobs (meanwhile complaining they have no money), I innocently suggest to get their Ballistic Armor out and mess up GOH/68 intersection or suchlike, while I go hiking in the hills. Makes them happy as pigs in muck, and I got them on paid action 15 minutes later without further complications.

It'd be nice if it had 3200 health points rather than 2600, that way the player wearing it should survive an Orbital Cannon shot, otherwise it's mostly useless as the majority pointed out.

 

Don't know why we can't use other weapons, they could just limit the running / sprinting speed like they do with the original Heists and the Heavy Combat Suits for balance... it's not like anyone ever pointed out to the developers that a player can magically apparate over 60 weapons from their ass and that was a top-priority for changing.

Can't you load anyone with ballistic equipment on the back of a flatbed or a Duneloader? Why not trash talk every tryhard in the session and see who can survive the longest without being griefed?
