Depends on what kind of pit. All in attempts that are purely to take some-one out and will lose the person pulling it off some places are stupid, but simple and precise taps that send people spinning or flying while barely slowing the performer down are much more my style, even if I do try and stay clean.

Racing is man and machine working at the best of their abilities to come first above all others, but the primary and major factor of almost EVERY FORM OF RACING ever is that it is a non contact sport. Not withstanding that the concept of taking out opponents through physical contact is the total opposite of the very core tenant of 'racing' it is also exceptional dangerous and that fact alone shows a breathtaking lack of respect for not only yourself but your opponent as well as any spectators who may be watching. It is also yet another example of how badly GTAO fails at racing, as the activity of ramming or smashing in to opponents is actively encoded in to the game engine (yes the game contains code that causes cars that are close to each other to become attracted to each other resulting in contact.)

So as you can guess my stance is pitting is low, so low that anyone who does it as a tactic to make up for their inability to drive smoothly and cleanly, just about ranks no higher than dog sh*te I would scrap off on the kerb, but then again racing in GTAO barely rates higher than the dog's anus that squirted that sh*te out in the first place. Rcokstar should just change the word 'race' in their game to 'retard smash bowl 2050' and be done with it since it is clear that is what they wanted 'racing' (and my god I use that word with nothing but bile for this games implementation in my throat) to be!

Let me also be clear you will only cross me once in a race after that I will make it my mission to f*ck with you in race until you quit and i regret to say that due to GTAO's racing being by nature the cluster f*ck for mentally unhinged boot lickers that it is, I have had ample opportunity to get very very good at f*cking with people who try to ruin my races.

I only pit if I see a driver in front of me pitting so I target them, or out of vengeance which usually results in me losing 'cause I keep missing them, or crashing in hopes of catching up to them to pit them back.

If I've had a run of bad races in a row though because everyone is playing dirty then I play dirty for fun. I'll reverse at the start of a race, then try and bash everyone I manage to catch up to.

Yellow Dog with Cone

I was in this race with this girl the other day, and we accidentally touched side by side in a tube (cant remember what race it was) She saw that as deliberate and rammed me really aggressively causing me to spin out. I caught her up in her X-80 and just gave her back end the slightest gentle nudge close to the finish and spun her out to take the win.

She was not impressed. Good lucking girl though, if that is her in her Xbox profile pic (SnowingVirus25)

This sounds kind of dirty out of context.

I need help.

I love it when people go after them in races after they pit some people. I personally leave the race straight away if people are dirty racers, I'm not wasting my time trying to hot lap just to be hit and pitted. I don't pit people, i can't be bothered racing dirty

I never ever ever do it UNLESS someone does it to me twice and I also notice him pitting other players (ie confirm he's a dickhead) then I will spend the next hour or however long it takes him hunting him and pitting him off multiple times per race until he leaves the lobby.. That's just how I roll

With the hotring races I fully expect other racers will play dirty and try to just anticipate it. Racing backwards is just stupid tho.

Only time it really annoys me is when I pass up multiple chances to ram someone only to have them do it to me when I let my guard down.

I tell you what I did do today, just out of sheer frustration. I raced Vespucci, and some guy shunts me straight off that first right hand banked U turn. I then got caught up in traffic so ended up being spun out three or four times. By the time I had got to the long two-way straight, the guy who had sent me on this journey of despair was leading, and was already coming the other way in his Vagner. I veered across in the manner of a salty noob and hit him head on, catapulting him off the track and to an explosion. He left. Then so did I. I deserved those bad sport points that time.

I can’t stomach racing. If I do race I try and race clean but it never ends well so I usually jump back into free roam.

I usually race non contact but I always try to race clean when contact is on. If someone deliberately try to ram me, spin me out etc I don't hesitate to give them the same treatment. I can also be a real dick if someone is racing really dirty the whole race even if they don't do anything to me ;)

Edit: would be nice if R* implements something like they did in GT Sport in the next gta. You'll be kind of ghosted if you are about to hit someone most of the time but not always. Bad explanation and I'm off to bed so maybe someone can explain a little better if someone wonders what the f*ck I'm trying to say ;)

I find intentional pitting and sabotage to be one of the lowest, cheapest things you can do in the game. It's ruined GTA racing for me and it's a total shame that it's so appreciated and in some cases championed by the playerbase. I understand the "it's not Forza/Gran Turismo, it's GTA" excuse for such childish behavior but in my view they negate the purpose of racing entirely.

It's hard to really get into the race when people actively try and succeed at knocking you out of the race over and over and over again. Different people at different points in the track all trying it, even if it's from people in front of you and you're just trying to avoid the aftermath. It makes really trying and enjoying racing - not bumper cars - but pure multiplayer competitive driving a complete waste of time. Non-contact is better and we all agree is much more boring, but it's literally the only way to ensure your progress isn't wiped away by some foolish troll.

These days I don't race at all because the playerbase has made it always a case of bumper cars. We most recently had the wacky NASCAR races DLC and I really tried to give that a chance. I started another character from scratch and without the ability to launch heists or contact missions the double RP & double money races seemed very worthwhile. It seemed like it at first, but race after race, no matter how many crashes I dodged or people I avoided, in the end I always ended up paying the price somehow. Getting pitted or hit was inevitable and it always happened multiple times during the race. Sure I could retaliate against the guy if possible but that would still have been an "after the fact" response and even if I go on the offense, I still face the same threat from every other player. The threat is never negated.

I really appreciate racing crews and social groups who hold their own contact-races, but specify that drivers drive clean and don't intentionally sabotage another player. These have been the only remaining examples of actual multiplayer racing left in GTA. I can appreciate accidental bumps and situational events, even in real life there are unfortunate hits and scrapes here and there, but that's under the good faith idea that players are doing their best to race well and without interfering with the competition. What we have now is people abandoning the concept of racing entirely just so they could play advanced bumper cars. It's a real tragedy because GTA racing could be so much more. But at this point, the playerbase is too far gone for these gamemodes to be enjoyable en masse.

I do it if it actually helps me - if it has a high chance of improving my position in the race with a very low probability of costing me anything. e.g. I'm in second place, with an easy pit maneuver on 1st and no one else near us.

Absolutely the worst of all offences, taking out first place by pitting them is extremely un-sportsman like (it will also ensure that the first place driver will end up at the back of the pack and not even get podium), take your loss and accept that the better man won or better still use slipstream (that is invariably turned on in contact races) and beat them fair and square.

My stance is if you pit me on accident I have no problem, but with those that do it everytime I pass them cleanly, then I go full out LSPD on them until the end of the race or they leave... When I oops and pit someone, I give the spot up.

quit racing in gta online is what i did

Same for me, I used to race constantly, I was in several different race crews, it was stunt racing that hammered the final nail in the coffin for me. Joining random races used to be fun, but the player base has become ridiculously toxic these days.

I only pit people who do it first.

And if Im sure to finish 2nd or worse, I turn into a griefer just to harass the dude who ruined my race. And if Im host, I kick him 5 seconds before next launch.

And dont try to tell me it was an accident.

Your face will look like an accident, you f*cktard

Lonely-Martin

After the sh*tshow that was GT sport, I certainly love GTA racing far more now than ever, lol. So f*cked up. (15 or 16 patches/updates now - Gets worse with each).

Yeah, get tagged early here, it could be a longer race, lol. But, at least I don't get a god damn penalty for sweet FA!. (So frustrating there, game killer for me).

I don't mind a bumpy race, I've done 1300+ so I know how to look after myself here (And in most ever racer I've played too - Racing games being my main thing over my years gaming too!) and I've been known to take note of 'that twat' and I'm more than happy to be sure that f*cker won't win. Even if I come last. I enjoy it like others do deathmatches or destroying cargo. It's relaxing for me. Though, if I ever go backwards for some petty revenge, I don't go after anyone but the one I want. Others are left racing.

I'll always look to race clean, and I'll do my best to remain out of the chaos and just pick off places, if guys are battling ahead and it looks messy, hmmm, dunno, it depends on my mood, lol. But if I'm near the end in a 1 on 1 for the win. I'll never take the cheap shot, unless I'm given reason to, usually I'll hold 2nd until last corner anyway, lol. (On call races tend to have catch up/slipstream on. No point challenging until necessary).

Crew/friends only races. Clean as clean can be. Lag can sometimes be a git, and mistakes happen, but there are fair ways to manage these things.

GT Sport sapped all the fun out of racing there now. Just Jezzball cars bouncing off each other, troll friendly by giving crash victims harsh penalties for collisions too. Here, it's arcade like and definitely flawed to sh*t...

But it's just fun!

Videogames should be this first. Essential for me at least.

I love joining on call, and my favourite scenario is when a fairly decent ranked player hosts and it's a 1 on 1 with contact, catch up, and slipstream on. I love these clowns. They always ram me asap, or try to, lol. But I'll see it come before I even picked my car, then it's just when, not if. And 9 times out of 10, these kids show their hand on turn 1... Oops!.

I'll sit on them until last corner, pit them at the perfect moment and just eat up that salt, music to my ears then.

I enjoy non-contact races too. Some tracks are very small and tight, for all the good intentions, sometimes it's just ideal (more so older street races mind you). And if I fancy a more peaceful session and it's 2x. Non-contact all but guarantees a top 3 spot. After all...

Cash is king. ;)

Is this The Guy?

Havent raced in what seems like 2 years but I have to say I completely dissaprove of pitting. I think its a cheap move and should not be tolerated

I however will not hesitate to pit someone when I see the opportunity.

I know, its f*cked up.

If i get rammed i ram them back. If they drive clean so do i. I do it like that in all racing games.

Very annoying if the others drive clean until the last few hundread meters and then start ramming.

But i don`t care anymore my stats are sh*t anyway with 157 Wins and 303 Losses.

If it happens in gta i can live with it but in Forza i get really pissed and then i start hunting those rammers until they lose the race too then i just quit. :D

^ Pretty much me everytime I race. I last about 2-3 races then just quit.

However, when I land in a race and the group is clean and fun, then I'll stay all night. ;)

unfortunately, there's a lot of races that don't allow it. not sure why.

the worst is joining a race that has:

• No Non-Contact option or Non-Contact off

• Catch-up on

• Slipstream off

• Custom Vehicles off

• Traffic on

That's nothing, two weeks ago while I was doing some Hotring Races, a pair of imbeciles were claiming that having players driving backwards and blocking the road made the races "more fun" and that I should "just avoid them" instead of complaining.

Sure, I have to avoid players that go out of their way to ruin the race for everyone instead of those f*ckers leaving the race for the people who actually want to race.

We have the game that we deserve.

People who love to pit and ram tend to be pretty bad at racing in general.

This guy, for example, pits me, but since he's too slow on the oppressor, I quickly catch up to him and take the win.

Here's one dude on my ass:

im a self defense racer. i always try to drive fair. but there have been way too many times when i see someone coming to pass me. i get out of the way. and they repay my kindness with ramming me. i hate it. i mean i know this game is full of crime and cheating and unfairness. but if im moving to the side to let you pass at least be nice enough to not hit me. its such a cowardly prick move. so when they do hit me i always try to get revenge. but for the most part i just want to have a good clean fun fair race. but with the jerks that play this game. its hard to get that.
