Eventually, the right hacker will get fed up enough with the wrong modders, and he'll just reveal the personal information of the worst offenders to the public and let social justice work everything out.

 

It will eventually come to that. If that's what it takes for someone to finally realize how serious of a problem this whole thing is, for the offenders to fully digest how many lives they are ruining on a regular basis --- it will go there.

 

We are in desperate need for real world consequences for the most egregious modders and glitchers.

When it happened to me I contacted sony. Talked to them on a live chat. Sent them my video, and it turns out this guy was live streaming it too, so I sent them that video also. It had the chat audio of the whole session where he said "I'm booting you" and there I went.

His account was banned in hours, he hasn't been on since.

I only know that because his friends sent me messages telling me that and how it was no big deal, ect.. on my YouTube video of it happening.

They take it very seriously, as did I - when someone deprives me of a service I pay for.

He also reports anyone he sees with a k/d of over 3.0 regardless of what they are doing (if anything). There is a very long list of reasons not to take him seriously. Calling for real-world vigilante justice over someone trolling in a video game is just the newest item on that list.

I wasn't making a value judgement of that or encouraging it. But it will happen if something else doesn't. The glitchers and modders and sociopaths who ruin this game for everyone are incapable of acknowledging the horrific damage they do on a regular basis.

 

They are criminals and will be revealed as such as gamers get older and recognize the problem for how serious it really is. Criminal justice or social justice is inevitable.

 

I mean - look at what these degenerates say: "snitches get stitches" and other barbaric, mob-mentality, hateful, murderous, violence encouraging speech. It's hate speech to say "snitches get stitches". People need to get real and stop fearing corrupt, conscienceless individuals.

Maybe someone should get back to the original topic:

Yeah, a public list would be good. Anything to hang the corrupt and honorless out to dry.

But it wouldn't be enough.

 

You have to go after the actual people making the accounts. You have to know their IP and their physical address in real life, and then private or legal action prohibiting that physical address from being able to use paid ISP access to access PSN or XBOX live or online gaming altogether.

If the person uses tools to mask their physical location/IP, that's when legal action should be taken by Rockstar or whatever game developer.

 

It isn't enough to just ban accounts.

 

Specific physical addresses in the real world must be prohibited from having any online access to gaming. Then they can go over to their friend's house with their console, try the same garbage, and then have that physical address banned as well.

TLDR:

Public list is a step in the right direction, but the only real solution is to prohibit the modders from being able to use an ISP to play online games.

 

The ability to play online games is a privilege, and those who do not respect the ToS should not have access to online gaming, period.

I never understand how people can't process that I can sit here in the middle of my work day and post this stuff without any stress or frustration to me. I type fast. I multitask. This is kind of a fun part of my day, admittedly.

 

But it's unfair to dismiss what I'm saying.

Of course, by now, you should recognize that hyperbolic hilarity it built into who I am here, but that shouldn't discredit what I'm saying, at its core.

Why should we tolerate these people playing online games with us at all? Why shouldn't we want these people to be permanently banned from online gaming?

What do legit players lose in that fight?

 

 

I think it's just the pussification and irrational fear of "thug life". People are so stupid and afraid and lost in space that they have drank the "thug life" Koolaid and therefore believe that reporting and banning someone in a game is somehow... dishonorable, or wrong.

That's all on you, as that's how you aggressively, consistently, target players.

 

Others are worse in their interpretation of cheats, again, f*cks things up, IMHO.
