Yeah, the level of professionalism, thought and just general skill really shines through on that form you linked us to. You clearly are part of something truly amazing!

Β

I don't get the reasons behind negativity, it's still better than Google Spreadsheets. Or am I missing something?

Β

ignore the haters :>P

Β

Β

Anyone can type anything into that. It shows almost no effort whatsoever. Anyone who for an iota of a second even considers believing that Rockstar would take anything from that "source" is beyond help.

Β

It's badly made, and has zero value to it.

Β

Look - being straight with you, this is honestly a waste of your time. First of all, you can literally type and upload *anything* you want with that form. Secondly it would need validation against social club names first of all, both the user making the report and the person they're reporting. This would require them to log in using their social club account (which you're not capable of doing).

Β

You've not thought this through and you're just going to end up with a mess that's of no use to anyone. If you do want to do something then I commend your spirit, but this is not worth doing.

Β

If you want to see things I've made they're only a click or a google away.

Lol - okay then. I made the backend C# web application and the front end Javascript application that uses XmlHttpRequests to query a C# WebApi that communicates with an instance of SqlServer to perform CRUD operations, as well as developing the Chrome Extension (also Javascript) that ties your Social Club account to the Gamesnap.club account, but yeah. " I made the backend C# web application and the front end Javascript application that uses XmlHttpRequests to query a C# WebApi" Why didn't you code the front end without javascript and made ur C# Webapp handle the requests to the C#WebApi directly. What you're doing is pretty unsafe considering I could just sneak into your code copy the token and use the API on a completely different website.

Β

Also, "that communicates with an instance of SqlServer to perform CRUD operations" doesnt matter what kind of operations ur doing, just say it communicates with an SQL Database

Go on then. Oh wait, no you can't! Why's that? Because I'm not stupid. Also, you clearly know very little about web development to even consider asking why a full-fat backend solution is better than a mix of client and server-side development. I'm surprised you didn't laugh at the use of .Net over classic ASP.

All this serves to do is potentially raise awareness. That comes with a problem already though - only a small proportion of people playing GTA Online are frequenting these forums.

Β

One thing - was this idea okay'd or commissioned by Take 2 Interactive or Rockstar Games? You'd be delusional to think that they would do anything with the information that eventually gets presented to them, because they won't. I reported over 30 cheaters back in July 2015 when I really cared (since I was only freshly transferred from Xbox) and to this date, there's still YouTube videos with zero views, meaning they've never been reviewed.

Β

Rockstar Games' script will be the same: report using the in-game function. Whether it works or not is basically your opinion, but I wonder how many people use the "other" option for reports and type something that's worthwhile in the small space provided, rather than just click "exploits".

Β

We're in 2018. Red Dead Redemption 2 will soon be on the table. Rockstar Games could've taken several opportunities in the past to do something solid, something concrete about h4x0rs. They've patched up natives but people are always finding ways around that. Background scripts preventing stuff? Easily circumvented. If not straight away, give it a few weeks.

Β

I like the idea of the site and it could serve some purpose, but Rockstar Games won't give one damn and it won't really be effective enough.

I like your enthusiasm, but I think you should redesign the form so it's much less likely to receive deliberate bad data. Experiment with drop down menus so people don't mess with the data you're gathering. Since people are going to troll with fake reports, make it easier to check between the real and fake ones.

Β

Β

maxresdefault.jpg

Β

Β

Don't increase the chances for users to input bad data. Or you could only permit people with a valid Social Club account to fill out the form. This sounds highly

Β

I'm by no means an expert on the subject; I'm learning myself, but you could experiment with different angles. So far, the idea is good, but more can be done to improve.

Β

And ignore those who mask their toxic criticism as feedback.

eh it will probably be useless. You can report cheaters directly to R with video proof and screen shots and they will do absolutely nothing to the cheater.
