I imagine it might be a little more fun with a group of friends but I'm not really a big fan of horde modes. I haven't seen what effect it has on the base game. jpm1
you have a bunch of nice upgrades for the base. you have a workshop that auto repair all weapons, a very efficient watchtower, and a cleo drops installation too. actually i'm really interested by the workshop only, that's why i ask
jpm1
good review about Daybreak. i'm hesitating, but i think i'm going to buy it. not cheap, but not expensive neither.. https://techraptor.net/content/state-decay-2-daybreak edit: purchased daybreak. and even if i couldn't join any MP, i find the DLC pretty cool. the daybreak without humans, only with AI is very hard. you have a tsnunami of Z whose only objective is to destroy your technician (hacker). so far i never died, but my poor technician took the expensive one. but with humans i'm pretty sure it's awesome. the more your survive the more you unlock objects for DB & SoD2. there's only one map a bunkerized supermarket parking lot. i'll post a small vid maybe later so you can make yourself an idea Edited October 9, 2018 by jpm1
jpm1
that game is a game i come back often. the Z survival concept is definitlely something that gets me hooked. plus they keep updating regularly with bugfixes,, but also new content, more or less visible that moment you know you chose the right weapon in case you wondered what the norma custom looked like Edited October 30, 2018 by jpm1 Mister Pink
jpm1
9 gigs patch. apparently new weapons, including a crossbow. Daybreak is fun in coop. you need to stop huge Zs waves. if it takes long to join a session, be sure to check you Xbox network connectivity in Windows parameters. there are numerous fix on the internet if you have issues
jpm1
that was a nice herd they added lot of new stuff. consommables, weapons, new missions.. but it seems there will be no more DLC, as the game is now labeled ultimate edition on Microsoft store. could be wrong though.? There's still more stuff coming next year. When the game was first announce to have three maps they mentioned that they wanted to add more over time and just recently they even teased that we'll be going back to Trumble Valley from the first game. They also announced another free DLC coming in "early 2019". Ultimate Edition has been around since the game launched. jpm1

JON22
I still prefer the combat in the first game. Can you counter in this? Haven't really tried it as all you do is roll. I loved as the camera slo-mo'd in the first when you successfully dodged attacks from a group of zombies.
jpm1
what i really love in 2, it's that like in Romero's movies, you never get scared. sometimes there are even funny things happening. once, i saw a Z running in front of me. he didn't even attack me. i didn't know where he was going. he was just a.. Z, you know, pure Romero style . love the great variety of missions too. you never know what to expect when you go out. recommend Daybreak too. very good to break the routine, and fun in coop. but be sure the xbox network is working in Windows settings (parameters>Games>Xbox network). you don't need the teredo thing, but you need to have the server connectivity working trip
jpm1
two new modes implemented. terror, and nightmare modes. it's the same as normal except Z become more dangerous. herds bigger, screamers more efficient, and few other happinesses like SWAT herds
DexMacLeod
Got to play a little bit of the new Trumble Valley DLC last night and it was pretty great to go back "to where it all started". Didn't get very far but right off the bat there's a pretty iconic location that's been turned into a home base that was really awesome. I haven't checked yet to see if we'll be able to bring our main community into Trumble Valley or if it's just available in this story DLC but I'm enjoying being back either way. trip and jpm1
trip
I'm loving the Hearland DLC. I've had off from work since Wednesday and it's too hot to be outside. So many hours. I've reset the game so many times. It's so hard. So many plague zombies. They also seem to bust out the harder zombies a lot earlier than vanilla. jpm1 and JON22 2 My crappy games at MyCrappyGames.com Free copy of Save The Puppies and Kittens
jpm1
i'm really having fun in SoD2. but i find the hard, and nightmare modes really nasty. didn't try to finish one of these yet. came back in panic to standard mode each time. man, just in hard mode if you don't use silencer you get massive Z floodings to ya. this is actually terrifying Edited August 22, 2019 by jpm1 trip

jpm1
tryng to lead a team through a terror zone with no killed. hard, but real cool. ammos are rare, plague samples too. the only way to survive is to commerce a lot, and lonewolf. if you take a team mate with you he/she will die in most cases. as the AI is not smart enough to deal with gigantic packs. built a couple of blade killers, as fire weapons should be used for emergency only. silencers are rare, and if you make noise you get flooded. the kind of flooding you don't survive Edited September 3, 2019 by jpm1 DexMacLeod

Or that they were just smart enough to realize there's too many to fight.

DexMacLeod
I started a new community in the new map, and I'm liking it so far. My only problem with the new map is that potential bases are all a little... meh. I've moved to the biker bar/diner for now but I've only got six people and it already feels a little cramped. The other ones I've seen just don't seem all that interesting. I've sort of got mixed feelings about the whole concept of "The Juggernaut Edition". On one hand, I never bought the Heartland DLC so it's cool to have that for free, but on the other hand, I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition when it came out and that never really felt like it was worth the extra money to begin with. It would all be worth it if they'd just given me a shirt for my characters that says "I Preordered the Ultimate Edition and All I Got Was This Lousy Shirt". Speaking of clothes, the new update seems to have removed my "Ugly Christmas Sweaters".

I'm still at the watchtower base from the intro. E: Nevermind... I stupid. I never noticed they were already marked on the game map. Crazy to think I've been playing thus game since release. Ha. DexMacLeod
Pretty big new update launching tonight. They've revamped vehicle physics to stop vehicles from getting caught on so many things. They've also tweaked things like acceleration and torque on all vehicles. Tire grip has been adjusted too so now we'll notice more of a difference in pavement vs dirt, grass, mud, etc. I think vehicle suspension has been improved as well. Watching the live streams it appears to be much harder to get your vehicle stuck and some of the all terrain vehicles are actually pretty good at rock crawling. They've done a slight remaster to the Drucker County map adding a lot of new details and even full structures to certain parts of the map. Supposedly this was mostly just a test run and other maps might get the same treatment. This is supposed to go live sometime tonight but I haven't looked into it yet. Might already be up. Here's the full notes:https://support.stateofdecay.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046952891-Update-19-Patch-Notes In State of Decay 3 news: They weren't willing to talk about it in their live stream today other than to say that they've been working on it "for awhile", it's still in very early pre-production, and they still have plans to keep updating State of Decay 2 for the foreseeable future. Mister Pink
I need to play SoD2 more. I must re-install it. Is there some co-op/online fun to be had? I got this nice new head set and haven't really got to use it other than the headphones but I want to use my mic! Seems like there'll be plenty of updates to play with as well. I never got far into it but really liked the concept and I'm not a at all a zombie guy, 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿
