Have they ramped up the "difficulty" on vehicle warehouse retrievals?

Like many others, I've spammed these for a long time as a main source of income so I know these missions inside and out. I could have sworn for the longest time, when you were stealing a car and got one of the missions that spawns waves of npc car/heli combos to attack you, that it was only 3 waves. Now it seems this mission and all the similar ones are spawning 4 and 5 waves sometimes. I always take the route of parking the stolen car to get out and taking on all the waves to reduce the overall damage to the car and I never remember it being more than 3 waves. Same thing goes for the sets of 2 blue Sultans with deadly accurate marksman in them when selling a vehicle.

I really wouldn't have made a post about this but it is really getting annoying. Add to that all the other sh*t Rockstar clearly programs in during these missions to make it more "difficult" and you've got a rage generator. I put "difficult" in quotes because it's some sort of pathetic way of coding and adding a cheap style of "difficulty". I mean it's pretty obvious that traffic is programmed to ignore all rules when you're stealing or selling a car and trying to minimize damage to it. Cars will defy physics and accelerate to top speed in a half a second to cross 4 lanes and hit you. Anything npc-wise that shoots at you literally can't miss. C'mon rockstar, I know you want me to buy Shark cards but I'll uninstall the game before I do that.

No I don't think they changed anything but I'll say one thing my cargobob on 2 out 5 sources just would not latch on to the car and I tried several times before giving up and driving the bloody thing.

I've not generally had this issue...

It always been 2 to 5 waves in these missions. It`s random. But i have the feeling the regular npcs guarding the cars are a bit more op than usual. Even more terminator aiming. But im not sure about that might be because i haven`t played a while and im a bit rusty.

Edit: One tip reduce Population Density to minimum in the graphic settings this way there is much less traffic. But this setting only works if your driving around alone if there are other players with higher settings you get more traffic and it multiplies the more players are around you.

Well I do these almost every day since it's my main source of income in-game, for me it's always 4 waves\4 pairs of enemies in both stealing and selling missions, it's rare to appear less than that and I've never seen appear more than 4 pairs of enemies during those missions.

The NPC traffic sucks however, really very annoying sometimes.

^ If I/E is your main income you really should buy cargobob. It's the best 1.5-1.9mil you ever spend. I bought jetsam version, because it's much quieter.

Makes stealing and selling cars a breeze.

The Jetsam is quieter? That's really surprising, I thought the only difference between them was cosmetic. Edited by Aghakhi

You only hear one of the propellers in the jetsam it`s bugged that`s why it`s much quiter. It`s 50% quiter than the regular Cargobob.

Always been 4 for me too. But I've used the bob on most cars (we'll over 450 so far). Only stayed to fight once by myself. The bob is much faster and cheaper (lots of ammo to fight off 8 OP NPCs).

If I have associates we will stop and fight but usually I have associates in public lobbies so no NPCs.

I have also grinded I/E a lot (991 vehicles exported to this day), lone-wolf, but I always drove the cars and only used the Cargobob in the required missions. I never stopped to fight the NPCs so I always thought the waves were infinite lol. I mean that sh*t is so overpowered. So I cant say much about this.

But there are some steal missions (2 IIRC) where you dont get any enemies at all, the Kurumas spawn empty without any enemies in them. I dont think R* has ever fixed this, and thats why I also dont think they changed anything in those missions (including number of waves and that sort of thing). But that is just a guess.

The traffic during the missions REALLY sucks balls though.

It's based on the value of the car. Stealing a Tampa will only get you two waves. Stealing an X80 will get you 4-5 waves.

No Use For A Name

The Kurumas only spawn empty in missions where you dont trigger them. The tail-the-bad-guy-to-the-hideout one. As long as you dont get spotted, they wont come after you once you collect the car.

NPC traffic is annoying but it can be largely avoided if you know what youre doing. On freeways, stick to the left side so the neurotic morons who cut through 4 lanes of traffic dont hit you. Youll also avoid most of the spawning bad guys, who seem to appear in the middle of the road

Even some of the top range cars don't spawn enemies when you steal them. That's just how they are.

Sometimes you get three star wanted level when you bring them back to warehouse, but quick call to lester fixes that.

The empty kurumas are because you didn't alert the driver on the way to the steal.

Everything is scripted...some you have npcs some you don't (870 steals)

I always fight the enemies, in steal missions, sell missions, whenever they appear. I just got used to fight them as I find it far better than try to avoid and getting extra damage in the process, due to their magical, infinite range, absolutely accurate SMGs.

I've found out a while ago that, at least for me, they always are limited to 4 pairs in both stealing and selling missions for high-end cars, sometimes for some reason only 2 or 3 appear but it's rare. So I concluded that since they are limited it's better to just park the car and kill 'em all.

That's basically what allows me to deliver cars with only $0~1000 in damage with a very high consistency. I combine that with a headhunter mission right after every sale to make a little over $100.000 every 20~30 minutes easily and completely solo, since every headhunter I do pays around 22.000 after little more than 6 minutes of mission.

I always thought the Kurumas were glitched because, you know, I guess the logical thing to happen in that situation (when not alerting the car you are tailing) was to NOT spawn anything? Lol I dunno. But thanks for the clarification everyone.

Yeah the devs probably fell asleep or some sh*t while designing that mission.

Using a bob I have zero damage 99% of the time. It's also faster than stopping to fight for 5 minutes before driving to the buyer... but to each his own. If you're having fun and making money it's a win win.

Yeah I it find pretty fun since it's a bit challenging to not take any damage. I may buy the Cargobob in the future, but it's not really a priority right now.

When I have associates I enjoy the battles, but when I'm in my own lobbie grinding it's all business and time is money so I try to find the optimal methods.

So far the bob has been excellent for Sourcing and selling. Definitely has its place in my hanger.

Cbob is usefull for the photographer and race missions else i don`t use it. Cbob is just to slow. And i don`t really care that much about the damage still have 135 million in the bank.

Driving the cars is just quicker and we all know time is money yeah. :D

Bob is faster than cars in some cases, the map isn't made of straight lines. But I understand peoples have fun with those idiotic NPC terminators and programmed trolls.

Idk, for me IE is best DLC because I can make money with my Cargobob, it reminds me all those dumb missions from Take On Helicopters where you have to lift boxes and deliver them from point A to point B :).

Source mission was Tail The Kuruma. End destination was in Vinewood Hills.

Vehicle is the Reaper.

After killing the NPC's I proceed to drive back to my warehouse.

I drive slowly waiting for the 2 car enemy spawn.

I get the first spawn and I park the vehicle. The usual terminator aim damages the vehicle and I incur a $1,200 damage.

I exit the vehicle. Of course the exit is the usual slow get up animation.

I kill the first wave and I wait. This usually works for me. Not a huge amount but I've sold 530 top ends so I'm pretty aware of all of the source missions. Or so I thought.

I sit there for 30 seconds. And there's no 2nd wave. They usually spawn after 10-20 seconds.

I get back in the vehicle waiting for the spawn. Another 10 seconds. Nothing.

So, I back out slowly.

Lo and behold I get the 2nd wave on opposite sides of the street shooting with terminator aim hitting the vehicle. Another $1,200 damage (the beautiful slow animation usually is the cause of most of the damage).

I rpg one car and minigun the other.

I wait again. This time for a minute.

Nothing.

I get back in the vehicle. Wait for another minute. Nothing.

I back out slowly.

Boom there they are.

Same deal. Another $1,200.

After killing them I just try to drive back as fast as possible.

If you are familiar with Vinewood Hills you would know that the streets are not the biggest. They spawn infront of me covering the entire street. Slam into the vehicle still terminator.

10k damage. I blow the car up and source another.

I get the Stunt one by the sign. Same deal. This time with the chopper and the entire Expendables Crew inside. They do not spawn unless you are moving the vehicle thus incurring insane amounts of damage.

Anyone else experience this after this update? Maybe I'm just glitched.

I wouldn't be surprised, NPC difficulty is updated every update in one area of the game or another. They might forget to fix every bug in the game but they never forget to make it harder.

Lethal Essential

I've noticed something similar. I've noticed that when I use my Cargobob, it emits black smoke sooner than usual. By the time I get to my warehouse, I can barely control the Cargobob. It seems as though the NPC's were made more violent after DDH.

Going out on a limb here, but you really aren't playing these sourcing jobs on the most profitable and efficient manner.

Always use a Cargobob and try your best to follow the mission objectives, the one on the stunt ramp is a goddamn walk in the park, there's no need to rush that.

And yes, the NPCs in those missions, along with the crate missions, were jacked up a bit - they can use explosive cannon of the Valkyre, for example.

Still, Cargobob is the best way.

Little tip for those missions where you have to tail. Don't spook the guy you're tailing. Let them get to their destination unaware of you. After you grab the car you'll notice the enemy cars will spawn but no enemies will be inside the car. No Terminators to shoot at you.

Drive to warehouse with 0 damage if you're a good driver.
