Will I lose my GTA online progress after replacing PS4 hard drive....

As it says on the tin, basically throwing this out there as tomorrow I'm swapping my hard drive out for a 2tb drive. Iv backed up everything vids & screenshots, my game data is saved and I don't have any other apps.

 

My game application data is gonna be lost but I have all discs still just downloading the updates which for GTA gonna take any ages.

 

My question still remains is my online data saved on the rockstar servers and will this be affected by a new hard drive talking to those servers?

 

Any help would be appreciated as always

There's no reason the swap should affect your online stats.

All that data is on R*'s end, server wise.

As long as the new hard drive can synch with online features, you're good to go.

 

 

I've swapped through 3 consoles entirely after going next gen, as I still was active in this game.

Even my Story Mode progress was saved & ready to resume once I was running on each new hard drive/console.
