Many people says GTA 4 don't need to be remastered, seems like these people don't have problems with the bad performance, the lack of anti aliasing, poor draw distance, flickering textures, square and ugly reflection, no ambient occlusion... etc.

So yes, why we need new gen version, it's just a gta4, this's not the game of the decade, this's not the best gta of R* and the story is so short and simple and the most of my friends and people around the world love and play this game because of the problems that I counted above.

R* must be so stupid if they make new gen version.

I can only agree on the first part of your message, GTA IV has a lot of problems (especially on PC) that a Remastered version could solve. But I can't agree on the second part... GTA IV has sold over 25.000.000 copies and, according to Metacritic it is the 3rd game of all time (http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/all/filtered?sort=desc), so surely it was of the best games of the past decade. GTA IV might not be the best GTA for you, but a lot of people (including me) loved this game, so why would Rockstar be stupid if they'll release a PS4 version? GTA IV's story short? It has nearly 100 missions and a lot of secondary quests for achieving 100%, so at least 50 hours of gameplay for complete the game (unless you're a speedrunner).

While I cannot answer for Wolver_321, sarcasm is rather hard to translate to pure text, especially without any emoticons. And there are some members unfortunately that could write something like that totally seriously, so I guess Wolver mistook you for one of them.

Are already there any rumours about releasing GTA4 on modern consoles? I'm trying to find something in The Internet but I find nothing. I love this game, instead of GTA5 with physics being screwed up.

I'm a little concerned R* might not give a shiet about their true fans...

All I want is a new Patch for PC with well optimization so we can actually play at 60 FPS for once. This, with the addition of Car Customization, and I'm happy.

It's still "according to a report from Kotaku UK" which is according to an anonymous source, which is not confirmed by Rockstar yet. Still it's a possibility.

Yeah, but as I said yesterday, it seems that as long as they don't re-release the game they don't have to remove the songs. GTA Vice City Stories didn't get any songs removed on its 10th anniversary because it didn't get re-released as opposed to GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City. There's always the possibility that instead of re-releasing GTA IV, they release a very big update to PC and Xbone to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Another one? At this point I highly doubt it will be only a song removal patch, there's surely something else...

Don't know but maybe that has to do with GTA IV songs, since re-releasing the game would mean removing a lot of music from the game.

So... due to songs removal, as some of you guys mentioned, something is going on. I'm quite sure we can expect something, for example PC and X1 patches, but what about PS4?

Kotaku stated that PS3 version will get some kind of dialogue window asking user to download digital licences for the songs. Since the game is not supported in any way on PS4, nothing will change.

There might be a simple reason for the removal of songs. Digital copyright licenses, agreements, laws and all of that has changed a lot. If you once sold your song to another artist, it was theirs to keep. Nowadays they are a huge controversy about rights, compensations and stuff like that. I might be way off with this, and I do understand that you can't take a song out of a movie, but could it be that some of the deals were made for ten years? Holder of the rights might have understood that they might be able to negotiate more if there is a re-release coming, R* might have gotten a cheaper deal. There is so much to this with artists being angry over Spotify and such, that it might have made an kind of unforeseen impact here.

If we knew what songs are deleted, we could have a look if they are from the same publisher/record company etc.

I know for a fact that artists have made a hugely different deals during the years about digital streaming, before anyone realized how huge thing it would become. Some have hitted a goldmine, others get practically nothing of it. 2008 was about a start of this era, and there might just be differing deals made with different artists.

Still, I'd give my left testicle to get IV on PS4. Hopes are up.

 

 

EDIT: This seem to have been discussed extensively at onlines "next update"-thread. I thought that I was smart and came up first with this stuff. Now I'm ashamed. :(

They should do a SA remaster first. SOME HOW JUST GET IT DONE!!

I think you mean a remake, since it already got remastered for mobiles, in any case GTA SA uses an old engine. A remake with the rage engine, that will require too much money and time. In other words, that will never happen. BTW, gta sa already got re-released on ps4.
