Seems that we got too much hope. Still I wonder how they'll celebrate GTA IV's 10th anniversary, maybe a themed liberty city update for gta online lol.

Yeah, I guess... Personally I don't want to see anything related to GTA IV in GTA Online, microtranscations are really going too far and it's incredible how the majority of people have nothing to say about this arguement.

Good thing I don't have GTA IV on Steam then.

Did GTA vice city stories get any songs removed on its 10th anniversary too?

If I remember correctly yes, they removed some songs.

Dumb question but here we go:

Suppose GTAIV gets released on PS4, wouldn't all the songs be available considering the PS4 is Sony as well as the songs?

That's not how it works. The songs are owned by Sony Music, while the ps4 is owned by SCE.

f*cking knew it. I just hope songs won't be removed from Xbox 360/One version of the game. If they will I am buying complete edition and after that I'm done with R* games.

Uh, that article is just speculation though. They even tried contacting Rockstar and got no response. Their info is from an anonymous source, and they're going off what happened to SA and VC. Kotaku is known to be sh*t anyways.

Yeah there's a pattern, but all these Steam DB updates just to remove songs? I don't know...

I don't know anymore, but if they're just removing songs why are they updating the game since December 5th 2016. I don't what rockstar is up to but, let's not get hyped up so we don't get disappointed.

I honestly believe a map expansion is more plausible

That's unlikely for several reasons:

1- GTA V is confirmed to not having SP expansions.

2- GTA online has already made and still making a lot of money just by making little updates and dlcs with microtransactions.

3- GTA online won't last permanently said by strauss zelnick himself, and it's said that it's getting its last update soon.

4- I doubt that the current generation of consoles would be able to handle it, as it would require too much memory and space.

Vice city stories didn't get a 10th anniversary.

sh*t let's hope it's not a lot. It's probably why we also didn't get a VCS 10th anniversary edition that 80s soundtrack was huge and probably most of the rights and licences expired.

We'll definitely see something, whether it's just songs removal or not, based on the beta branch updates.

a map expansion 5 years after the game was released and close to the release of RDR2? I don't think so.

also, not that Rockstar cares of course, but it would be a complete disrespect to release an update with Liberty City to GTA V on GTA IV's anniversary

Sorry, I read Vice City, my mistake... As Darealbandicoot said, GTA VCS is waiting its 10th anniversary.

I don't think they would ever do that! How can a map expansion help selling Shark cards? A map expansion normally equals to a paid DLC, but for sure Rockstar doesn't want to split the player base like they did in the past.

That confirms that as long as they don't re-release the game, they won't remove any songs. Which means that we're probably getting an update on pc and maybe xbone. Whether or not it has graphical enhancements, like in the picture you posted earlier, that remains to be seen.

I think that GTA III is the only exception, because all the songs of the original PS2 Version are still in the mobile version. VCS will be probably released with LCS on PS4 as PS2 Classics in the future (these games were registered by ESRB a few months ago).

There's also something else, VCS original release date was October 2006, which means that its 10th anniversary was in 2016, yet they didn't release it for mobile like the other 3D era GTAs. I told earlier about the possibility that Rockstar has been working on GTA IV's 10th anniversary since 2016, well now it's possible that they didn't release VCS on mobile because they were focused on GTA iv's 10th anniversary, that is if they were really working on it back in 2016.

Would they really be able to remove songs from the 360 version though? It's the original release, taking songs out could possibly cause legal issues. A remake or remaster I could understand, but editing stuff out of the original release?

I think that if an announcement is made, it will be after the anniversary date. The Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, or MediEvil remasters were not made for the birthdays of the games. Crash even came out for his 21 years !

Kotaku's article said practically that... According to the article, the PS3 version will display a message to encourage people to download the digital soundtrack before 26th April.

In 2016 Rockstar remastered Bully on mobile but they haven't done anything in 2017, so maybe you're right (and I hope so ;))

Well they can't do "whatever" they want with it otherwise somebody could sue them for false advertising. I'm not saying removing songs from original releases is false advertising but it seems like there'd be some repercussions in some form.

I can't see Rockstar release two games in less than 6 months. The announcement of GTA IV could be done soon for a release next year.
But with Rockstar we can expect everything ...

The N. Bellic Man

If the only thing that they do is remove songs in IV's 10th anniversary then R* is really becoming a bad joke. I was previously joking that is probably what they will do, but I wasn't actually believing that that would be the case. It would be a perfect time for them to better their image, but if not then this is just sad.

By whatever I don't mean like "no man's sky", I meant they're free to patch the game.

Well that's definitely possible, announcing it and releasing it later but don't forget that we're talking about Rockstar not Naughty Dogs.

The thing is just about all the music in GTA 3 was original music made for the game aside from maybe the Game Radio FM and Flashback FM and the rest of the music was made by R* themselves in house.
