Curtis
So I was thinking one day about a certain mod not working on the steam version of Vice City and I thought replacing the .exe to a 1.0 US version would work. The mod didn't work but I kept the exe and kept on playing until I realized something: The game probably thought I was playing a pirate copy and changed literally every station's soundtrack to the one on Wildstyle, every radio station was playing the Wildstyle soundtrack. The pirate radio station! That's pretty clever in my opinion and I looked around and nobody else ever documented that thing happening to them so that's why I'm posting here about it. I guess it's rare to trigger if nobody ever mentioned it, I thought it was clever irony. LaBombaRomba
That's really cool and wierd. I've used pirated and Steam copies with 1.0 US cracks and I've never had this occur to me...
86DX
That's f*cking genius, even if it's just a coincidence.
Silent
You might have grabbed a weird 1.0 EXE then. That is, possibly an EXE from a RIP version of the game which has all stations swapped to use Wildstyle, and thus save space. After I put back the original exe everything went back to normal. Is that really something an exe can do?

Yes, in the executable file, there are names of the files it uses, like radio ADF files and such. Looks like in your specific EXE all the names were changed to WILD.ADF so that all the other station files could be deleted to save disk space. Weird though that whoever did this decided to keep WILD and not VCPR which is the smallest of them all. Curtis
