Anyone here who didn't stop playing since 2013?

GTA Master 007

I'm back, last I used this site was in 2014 I think, I've stopped playing after I got bored of the PC version, I pretty much did everything on console. So yeah as the title says, who here has been playing since 2013 and hasn't moved to another game?

Welcome back!
Also if nobody left a comment here in 8 minutes, that doesn't mean that forum is dead.

I preordered the game, but I was out during 2016-2018 I think, just going online to get new cars and getting money for new cars, pretty low-key.

I only got active again I think just the start of this month or so.

I have been playing since 2013 but I did take off a few weeks here and there to play other games.

I always come back to gta once I complete the other games.

The thing about gta online is there is no end, no 100% checklist to complete so Ive been able to set my own personal goals and that is what has kept me coming back. Usually I play a game, get my 100% and thats it. Gtao is really the only game Ive ever come back to after "completing" it.

OP-go get those pigeons, I know its killing you lol

I stopped playing for a while right around the time the biker DLC got released but I got back on a few months ago in November 2017 and just like before I took my little break, it's basically been the only game I play.

Been a GTA fan for 20 years, lol. Many games between the quieter spells, but haven't left yet. :)

Who here has been playing since 2013 and hasn't moved to another game?

I mean, really, what kind of person only limits themselves to one game, especially for five years without indulging in anything else?

That would be, ludicrous and would pretty much nullify their status as "a gamer," right?

Unfortunately, this describes me to the letter. <sigh> With the exception of a few mobile apps, like Chess and Solitaire, I'm a one-game guy.

And as for GTAV/O, I've been playing since launch and haven't stopped, not even for other wanna-be games.

However, I plan on buying Far Cry 5 and RDR2, which will significantly reduce my GTAO for the first time since release.

And that's okay. :)

I guess this forum is dead

And no, the forum is alive and well. It's the creation of interesting and original content that seems to have died. <sigh x 2> :D

Forum is not close to dead, hardly.

I’ve played consistently since October 2013, never taking a break during that stretch. Just now approaching 3,500 hours.

Alot I'm sure. Myself included.

I left just after the heist update, I still get emails every time there is an update. I just ignore them, most of the time delete them without opening it and when I did open they where never temping enough to make me go back to the game. I always hoped for a single player dlc, new game, or basically anything thats not gta online. So when I did start playing again (yesterday) the sole reason was because I didn't play it in a long time, so after like 10 gb of updates I launch the game and got blasted with a sh*t load of emails and get harassed on the phone for like 30 minutes by lester, ron fib guy and lamar to buy stuff for them (i'm guessing this is new update stuff) I just wanted to drive my stringer but someone decided it would be fun the turn me into a giant orange ball just 5 minutes into the game. Seeing the amount of effort rockstar put into gta online since the heist update i'm guessing we not going to see gta 6 in a while or ever. I'm wondering is modding really that bad or is it just a pc thing and I was just unlucky?

I've taken breaks and played other games. Longest break was last summer through about the end of the year... basically a six month vacation where I only played GTA a few times, mostly right after a new update came out. During that stretch I did a lot of single player games and a lot of Rocket League. But I've mostly played steadily for the whole time the game has existed.

I've been a day one player. And while I own and play other games, GTA Online is still the main game I play.

Been here since day one, certainly taken breaks and played other games in the last 5 years but I can't see myself setting GTAO aside permanently unless they shut it down completely or something else comes along that gives me the same sort of pleasure GTAO does, but better.

RDR2 Online probably has a fair shot at becoming my main squeeze for a while but we'll just have to wait and see.

Been playing GTA since the series began.

I've been active in this game since it was released, swapped to next gen right away & have continued.

Like Fallout games, this GTA has been my "go-to" when I feel like gaming but have nothing in mind.

Except GTA: Online is for those times I want to play with friends, whereas Fallout games are for those solo mood days.

Over the past 2-3 years though, generally there will be a week or two at a time where I don't play.

That's simply due to the combination that none of my friends are playing it at the time, & the 2x events suck.

Another game? Another game? HA! Yeah, like that's an option. I'd have GTA Online direct wired into my cerebral cortex if I could.

GTA IS LOVE. GTA IS LIFE.

Week 2 player, avoided the deleted characters I was hearing about. As far as moved to another game not sure what you mean by that. I play other games but not with the same dedications like GTA. Fact is I'm glad I'm an og player, because I got to experience the growth of GTAO as it happened. I don't know what I'd do if I was a new player coming into GTAO now, because it would be too overwhelming imo.

I took a few months break last year, but I came crawling back to GTA. I only left it because I started working night-shifts and in the daytime I had to look after the little ones, but as soon as I got back onto a normal work pattern I got back into GTA.

Apart from that break (and a few week-breaks every now and then) I've played pretty much since 2013. The only other games that have taken up as much of my time are Skyrim, the Fallout series and the Fable series... oh, and the occasional monthly Xbox Gold game, I really enjoyed Oxenfree...

Anyway, to answer your question, short answer: I've played GTA pretty much since 2013 except for taking a break.

Was there in GTAO one day one and played more it on and off right up until August last year, as which point dropped this game like the hot pile of Shark Card driven Dolphin sh*te it has become. Stopped by for a quick few hours in the snow simply because I haven't missed the snow once since it became a thing and haven't touched the game since and have no intention too. Almost got me interested with the announcement of a racer focused DLC but shock and horror that turned out to be a whole load of infected Badger spooge, or to put it simply Rcokstar had a chance to unf*ck something that launched f*cked (catch up), stayed f*cked (catch up), got more f*cked (stunt races) and had a chance to make less f*cked and what a shock they managed to just f*ck it.

Been playing the Witcher 3 for the last 2 and a bit months and it has risen to rapidly become one of the best games I've ever played on the flipside GTA has gone from being one of my all time day one must buy favourites to a game I won't touch with a 10ft barge pole. The difference here folks is a game created by a developer that clearly cares and loves what they have produced vs a game created by a developer who just wants a device that opens your wallet and empties it of all your cash. Anything that does that should at least end up offering me a shag but with GTAO it just feels like I am the one getting f*cked.

If it weren't for irl obligations I would play even more. But alas, wife, babies, cars, bills ect, keep me from my second life as I'm sure it does for many.

Been playing since 2013. I take breaks from the game, not always intentionally, but I usually sneak in a few hours over the course of a week. I try to vary my play style (often matching the DLC flavor of the week) to keep my interest fresh. I may be one of the rare players that doesn't actually play for money or to collect every item. I generally only buy the items I think I'd enjoy and even then I research them and if they're not game breaking additions (like a new super that trumps all other supers) I wait for it to go on sale. It's a weird concept I know...

I will say that as it became more and more clear that Rockstar was going to make game changing updates to stunt our money making potential while leaving many aspects of the game unfixed (wall breaches, god mode glitches, match making issues, broken game mechanics) I really started to lose respect for the game. Cool down timers, forcing me to travel across the map to launch a job from a specific computer, limiting my ability to carry multiple packages despite owning giant vehicles that could easily carry them, or purposely putting me in slow vehicles with no defenses while suggesting to a full lobby that they come stop me...all that stuff left a sour taste in my mouth so I've stopped playing those things. Now I just do some races, maybe jump in on some death matches or contact missions and occasionally I'll help a rando with a heist if I'm feeling patient and looking for something a bit more time consuming and focused...

...but yeah, been playing since 2013 and I love the game. Hate the bullsh*t I mentioned above but when you just focus on playing the game and spending your money responsibly (yeah, I know, being smart with pretend money is kind of lame), this game really does have more to offer than almost any other game. The only other game I've played even close to this long is the Forza Horizon series and even then I find myself wishing I could get out of my car and explore the world and suddenly I'm playing GTA again...

Day 1 player and still checking in regularly. I did take a break for a short while after Gunrunning - for me that was when the GTA franchise hit rock bottom. However, DDH restored my interest and I guess I'll keep logging on until the updates dry up...or I become completely immersed something else *cough RDR2/RDRO*.
