I think we could potentially get a lot of what you describe there, but I think that the western time period, unless it does go crazy and work in some "Wild Wild West" type steampunk, limits what you will get. For a start, there won't be aircraft, unless an old hot air balloon maybe?

 

I just feel that what you can do with a historical time period vs a contemporary or near-future time period is limited.

 

That's not to say that hunting / trapping / gathering type DLCs if they arrive won't be welcome and probably fun to play. (I know they are because I lost weeks and weeks trying to get the Legend of the West outfit in RDR)

Indeed. This thread was created in response to it, and, as I alluded to in the OP, this isn't the first time that has been said. This is the first time I've been particularly suspicious of such a claim, owing to both the circumstance of Online now having surpassed its former playercount record, and the way Yan said these things just before April Fools. Seems a little silly for whatever is next being the end, even with Red Dead on the horizon.

 

At the same time, this thread isn't meant to be about is or is not when it comes to updates continuing, but what peoples' expectations and plans are for when that time comes, whether it be tomorrow or a decade from now.

No one seems to grasp that he said "It might be, but we all know how that goes". That's basically him speculating it might be the last due to how big it'll supposedly be with such a big drip feed extending all the way to RDR2. We already know Rockstar has plans for GTAO that extend far beyond RDR2 based on what they said themselves in those interviews the lead director did last year.

 

Yan speculated the same thing after I/E and said moving forward they'll most likely just release cut content or fulfill all the major fan requests which in retrospect actually made sense, considering almost every update in 2017 was rehashed content with almost no original ideas or concepts. The biggest update of 2017 was a rehashed version of story DLC that's been in the works since 2013-2014. Rockstar literally had to come up with sh*t out of their ass in 2017 just to keep their investors happy.

 

I don't think we'll see anything original or groundbreaking anymore really, just building on existing content we have in game.

Yeah, loved completing those quests, and the treasure hunt here added to my hype for RDR2, lol.

 

Definitely gonna be a blast to get stuck in and see what's on offer. If I get half what I got from John's story and my fun, I'm gold. It was a great game for me. That and San Andreas, story-wise, are the one's to beat.

 

So much potential with both games in future really. I can't wait.

Yeah, that's odd. Game started to fall down after they wanted to "fulfill fan requests.

I will keep playing it until something better comes along I hope when they turn GTA 5 online mode off we might get to keep our players in maybe a standalone single player mode or possibly get to use them in story mode they could earn money by taking part in the heists.

there are players who have spent real money on there online players so it would be gutting to lose them. also if we could keep the dlc stuff that would be cool also.

I think I've said it before but Rockstar might be missing a trick. They should take orders to have our characters 3D printed into action figures or resin statue collectables as a nice memento.

People think GTA online updates are ending even though take2 said rdr2 can't compete with gta online. They can make as much money as a full game with there macrotransactions alone for a single update. They wouldn't kill off the free billion dollars a year they get from the money cards.

If updates end in EVERY WAY and i mean not even new adversary modes etc.. then for sure i would be in gta 6..

 

I would just leave the game, uninstall and get that free ssd space for gta 6 and or any other game if gta 6 is not here by that point.

 

If no other game keeps me interested and gta 6 is not here then i would still be here helping known people get things they want while i mess around without caring about money (FINALLY), so i would literally spend and spend without worrying for insurances, surviving to keep my ratio, etc.

I´m still not sure if it´s allowed to play in those servers or not ... FiveM support says it will not get you banned, but Rockstar Support says you´ll be banned if you´re playing in custom servers (not only FiveM )

I need an answer , I really want to play in FiveM servers ...

Do you really need new content to play this game?

 

Every lobby has different kinds of players which leads tons of different possibilities. This keeps game fresh for me. You don't know what you get into when you switch online.

 

I can play this until VI out.

I'll most likely move away from video games, I only play GTAO anyway so it won't really be that difficult for me to do so. My health is doing so much better, I'm thinking of getting a PT and getting back into the gym.
