What Are Your Plans For When Updates End?

So, in the time I've browsed this forum, I've seen atleast three different instances of the rumor that "the next update is going to be the last," and whether it is from credible sources, a random leaker, or just hearsay, people always act like that's the ultimate ending to GTA Online. That, tomorrow, we'll all see the post on the Newswire saying "Thanks for playing GTA Online! We hope to see you next year in GTA VI."

Now, the reality of whether or not Online is really going to die someday soon or if it would even stop when the last drip-fed car or adversary mode came to Los Santos is not the question. What I am wondering is... What are your plans for when updates end? Are you going to move on to other games just because Online isn't receiving new content? Will you keep playing until the day they pull the plug on the Social Club? What do you model your plans on?

I'm curious as to what people think it will be like (seems like an apocalypse, some of us are so scared), and what peoples' plans really are, if they have any. Feel free to formulate right now, and share what you can. This thread is meant to both ask and collect!

My personal plans for when Online finally reaches its end is to sell off my entire car collection and drive my favorite vehicle - an Albany Emperor - off Del Perro Pier. My friend has told me that he plans to buy a bottle of champagne and celebrate the end of his life in Los Santos. But what do you plan to do? Are there any celebrations in order? Has the thought even crossed your mind? Think about it!

 

I'm going somewhere new! I've had enough of Liberty City, Los Santos, Vice City, San Fierro, and Las Venturas for two lifetimes! Japan, here I come!

Even though I don't see them stopping for a LONG time, when they do I'll just enjoy all the content we've gotten up to that point until I feel like I've bled it dry. Also of course try and buy everything in the game that I want.

I've already recreated all of my vehicles in singleplayer mods so I have a 'backup' for whenever it eventually all ends, but just an end to new content probably wouldn't affect me a lot other than knowing that my remaining garage slots are my last. I'd hope there'd be another big chunk of PvE content before the end though as something fresh to play for a while.

Seriously I still do the same things I was doing back on ps3. Heists, free roam pvp, some missions.

Updates just bring material things like vehicles, clothes etc but you dont really need any of that to just play the game and enjoy it.

Anyway, I don't know. Probably sell everything just for the sake of it.

I will play until R* pulls the plug completely. I just hope they dont do this anytime soon. I spent so many time grinding and doing stuff in this game, even some real money, then achieved so much, my car collection is awesome, my helicopters and planes look so cool... I didnt want to lose all of that. I really whish that when R* decides to do it, at least they still allow us to play with our characters and enjoy everything we bought and achieved, maybe in private sessions, or even offline, but I am not very hopeful about that unfortunately.

I'll still play about with my motors a bit in GTA, for old times sake and move my main focus to AC Origins, which has been sitting in my library on PS4 since last year.

Very good question... I've been playing this game for so long (on PC), I sincerely don't know what i'll do if GTA online would become stale for me, due to no new content coming. I've tried other games, but nothing can really pull me in like GTA. If new content stops, I hope GTA 6 will be coming out of the pipeline...

 

Deep down I hope and think this game will get map expansions. so perhaps a new Island where u have to start from scratch again... But Always can go back to your fully loaded LS-Island... THat would be nice... That way GTA online can live forever... (and all the effort and time we put into it, wouldn't become invain at one point... )

I am just glad I don't have to worry over such, as a matter of fact - as a PC user - updates are more a burden than something to look forward to. Long after you guys call it quits, I will still be adding HQ vehicles, modding my sh*t, creating better quality textures, adding more maps, on and on and on, LOL...

exactly my plan .... I´ll be moving to FiveM once they decided to stop updating GTAO (which is not happening in the near future, fortunately... otherwise it would be a very stupid decision from their part )

or maybe I´ll start a 2nd character , maaaybe ...

like I said , I don´t see them stepping out from supporting the game for the next 2 years, at least (which is GOOD NEWS )

I'd move onto other games.

 

Occasionally I'd pop back over to GTA Online to see if the player-base does indeed dwindle, but apart from that, it wouldn't really affect me all that much.

 

Over the past month or two my love for GTA Online has significantly diminished

More than likely I'll be playing games like, The Last of Us 2 by then and RDR2, also Overkill's TWD will be out. So many other games, but I still haven't experienced ALL of the content in GTAO, and probably never will. Fact is, there is always something to grind toward in a game like this.

 

TBH I dont think R* will ever stop releasing content for GTAO until VI comes out. Just doesn't make sense, with how much money they are making.

 

The only people who should be scared or in fear that GTAO wont get updates anymore, are those leech scum youtube clickbaiters. Mrc*ntFTW ect

Ill definitely be playing something else. GTAO isnt fun no more. But I dont think thatll be the last update. Online will probably just get fuller updates with tons of requested vehicles and longer dripfeeding.
