Avenger countermeasures flares vs chaff?

Haven't logged in a while can someone tell me the difference and how to use this on the avenger and is it worth it?

Imo Avanger doesn't need them. It can tank a lot of hits.

The pilot can't use countermeasures solo. You need a co-pilot.

It's mostly pointless in flight mode even if you have someone to man them. You can dodge non-Chernobog missiles just fine in the same way that jets can.

 

Therefore, assuming you actually have a friend who's content with doing nothing but pressing the countermeasures button, treat it like a chopper and use chaff.

When fully manned that thing is an absolute beast, well, flares are always nice, I advice buying them and find buddies.

 

Just fire your flares to add some dramatic effects lol

none. save your money. to use them someone needs to sit and press DP right every time they hear a beep like a monkey. come to think of it you probably could train a monkey or rat or something to operate the flares. 1000k for a pet flare monkey.

 

seriously though, a friend would be better off escorting you in a pyro or something than being your flare monkey.

 

or better yet manning tha cannons and killing everyone before they can shoot while you dodge anything that does get fired.

 

the avenger is strangely good at dodging missiles in vtol, to the point where people start freeaiming at me a lot, or using the minigun outside its effective range.

I didn't even realize the Avenger had flares. It is so heavily armored, and just barely elusive enough, that it really doesn't need them.

Tula perhaps. The Avenger is powerful enough already, if the pilot controlled the flares and had just one gunner, that would be one unstoppable air beast.

best way to kill the avenger isn't rockets anyway, it's bullets. the flares should be pilot controlled but be on a long cooldown. Edited April 1, 2018 by The Wandering Hunter

the countermeasures on the Avenger we're recently added, it didn't have that option when it first released.

Yeah it should've had them when it released but obviously something was blocking it off or was bugged to prevent even getting the option. Just adds to the "dlcs aren't tested properly" vibe.

 

It's a pity the explosives bug is still apparent, I suppose if someone gets lucky and has the Heavy Sniper Rifle with explosive rounds you're done for in one shot. Actually was there ever any more information on how that bug was triggered?

I use flares; the Avenger is huge so it's easy to hit with unguided missiles and flares distract those too.

I just realized it after i spent the money, was flying it and almost pressed every button including triangle. Lol waste but its still sweet ro fly. But on topic i cant use that sh*te as a mainly solo player.
