Jammsbro
I'd like to see a more customisable variant of car tuning. Simply upgrading your engine is pretty stock gameplay wise. I'm not asking for a formula one style of car setup but more like a system similar to to points upgrades in the old Tony Hawks games. Rather than just going for engine upgrades that do a slightly better version of what was at the previous level, there would be a series of engines and engine mods you could buy, add to and change for your car. If you were driving a dominator and wanted better handling you could add that, although it might drop your top speed by a small amount. If you wanted to be able to drift your car you could buy the components and setup to allow you to do that. This way players could customise their cars in whichever way they wanted and your new car could be very different than another players. It would also allow you to have two cars in your garage that drive very differently and that you use for different things. Players tend to have different driving skills and abilities and most players have car types that they prefer and ones that they have a harder time with. Customisation like this could give players more control over their garage and purchases. It could work with a points system. Say that each car starts with a value of 100 points. You can go into a specialist agarage and alter those points either on a set of sliding scales (handling, grip, suspension, acceleration...) and/or you could then add specialist ports that would unlock different abilities for that vehicle and give your car more points over that 100 point starting cap. So if you wanted a beast offroader you would install parts that would allow you to gain more points in that area. If you wanted a short-track supercar you would do the same in a different area. Simply ugrading engines isn't the most fun. But if you wanted to buy and install engine and car parts that would turn you car into a battering ram, your supercar into an offroader or anything else I think more people would have more fun in their garages. It also introduces the unknown element of when you meet another player, you have no idea what their car might be able to do and them with yours.
