Original heists more popular than Doomsday heists?

In my feed, I get about 3 times as many original heist invites than doomsday heist invites. Not sure why this is, because doomsday missions pay better and are quicker to get started, and not much harder then the old ones after you've done them a few times.

Or is it just that the host has to put out a lot more invites before they manage to get 4 players?

It's that last bit you suggested, yes. Also I would say that people often send invites without starting them (they can't get four players together), so they then send more out another time. On and on it goes.

It's cheaper to play the original heists.

You don't need to buy a million dollar base.

Honestly I prefer people hosting these over hosting from a f*cking Paleto facility

Idk if r did it intentionally but doomsday seems to be not meant for casual players or even low ranked players for that matter.
Like mentioned above you need millions just to start them.
Not everyone knows how to get solo lobbies so the preps can be an absolute nightmare for solo/casual or low ranked players. Not to mention the setups have very op enemies. I imagine some players have spent days or even weeks just trying to pass the act 3 finale.

They probably didn't made this far and all at Avenger set up.

That's because randoms are idiots. Trying to host regular heists and play with randoms is a complete waste of time nowadays. You'll probably spend more time waiting for players to join rather than playing the actual missions. Finale payouts are pathetic because you have to split it between 4 players

Also doesn't help ranks under 100 have less health. And new enemies are very overpowered.

I hate DD heists with passion, it's everything R* ever did wrong with mission design turned up to 11: instaspawning enemies blindfiring with enormous accuracy and extreme fire rate and moronic objective achieved through schizophrenic means. Like, for example, Escort ULP or that RCV mission. We've seen similar approaches in some early contact missions and it looks like devs learned nothing. For me DD heist is synonymous to bad game design. I don't find it overly complicated, though. And the replay value of these heists for me is 0, did them to unlock trade prices and never touched ever since.

Heist gameplay only works best as single player!

Unfortunately Rockstar's overambitious asses will never understand that. They've got their heads too far up multiplayer gaming's ass.

As much as I like the DD Heists, the Original's are more fun to do, and a lot more balanced. Even without the Heavy Vest. DD is more frustrating in that Rockstar just maxed out the A.I Damage, Accuracy, and Spawn Rate to max instead of spending time on actual level design.

I definitely get mostly Old Heist invites and it seems something someone here pointed out is true, most of the invites are Prison Break.

I use the auto join function and have spent much time waiting for a Doomsday to open up though I've found if I go to phone and reset the join request every 2 minutes I find sessions faster.

Fact is Doomsday are simply easier with the items you unlock later on (Heavy Sniper, RPG, Grenade Launcher, Minigun)

DD heist invites: maybe 3 in a week. Original heist invites: at least 7 every day.

This irks me a lot. The blackout section of grabbing the Avenger, loads of people just don't pay attention to their screens and can't see a damned thing because they don't know about nightvision. Like...What the sh*t.

The reason why the old heists are more present is that those are way faster and easier to grind. The DDH ones are fun, but not efficent enough.

Pretty much this. Also, what's very important, old heists can be done in a row, mission after mission. DD introduced the extremely tedious and boring freeroam tasks making the entire run way longer than it has to be, and here's the aforementioned efficiency, or lack of.

As for fun factor, it's all subjective - I love Prison Break, for example, and don't have any problems with the infamous trash truck mission in Series A, however I can't stand literally half of the DD missions and after doing them once, I really have no intention to revisit them ever again, even if it means I won't complete the new Criminal Mastermind challenges. These new heists feel cheap and uninspiring for the most part, in many respects step backs from what we've seen three years ago. Enemies have ninja reflexes, are super tough to kill unless you aim for their heads exclusively (and even then you'll get some bullets in the process, because of their machine-like reaction times), appear in swarms, and you cn't even use your good old heavy utility vest. The difficulty of DD is so artifficially bumped, it kills the joy of playing to me. In comparison, after completing original ones, I've felt accomplished, proud, happy and rewarded. With these, the only thought in my head is "finally, it's over".

New players don't host DD because it requires a completely useless base (man, I wish I could sell mine, I absolutely hate it...) costing over 1M$, five times as much as Del Perro Heights apartment you can use to host regular heists. Old veterans don't host DD because they either play it with friend(s), or don't want to waste their time on it, knowing how long it is, and how little it pays. There's plenty of better ways to grind money in this game. Both more profitable, and more fun.

you have much longer loading times when you connect to a doomsday host than a old heist host. that reason alone is enough for me to say FU DOOMSDAY! i only join first and second finals (data breaches & bogdan problem), fast and no stress

then you have still alot of bugs like the "CEO QUIT". just no thank you its a mess.

I like them both. But the winner with DD is being able to do them with variable number of players.

As said above that's probably the biggest factor why you see fewer invites. It takes more time with the originals to get a team together and get going. With DD you can just plough on with two people and there's no need to send out random invites.

Black Terminator

I get the original heists set up's and finales more then I do in the DD ones. I can understand why because the old heists were more fun to do. No bullsh*t AI's that are at max health and they die whenever you shoot them. No rhino suit with a minigun to boot. I can easily see why some people prefer the old than the new ones.

Biggest reason is obviously that DD doesn't require four people whereas the original Heists do. Obviously you'll see fewer invites.

im sure old heists have like 10 times more activity then doomsay because they are easier, faster, more efficient and most important more fun. doomsday is dieing fast. good

Lonely-Martin

Many reasons, some mentioned.

2-4 players as an option. Many have that 1 chap/lass they hang around with at least, it's much harder for lone wolf's to fin 3 too over just 1 to run jobs. So invites just don't get sent out as much. When I plan a more efficient run time-wise, I ask a friend over, job done. No-one's invited, lol.

The cost of the initial property is a larger amount compared to an apartment that gives 10 car spaces too. $200k over, I can't remember what, lol. No brainer.

The bugs. Too many, but the insta/spawn killing issues are enough to put of a long term player, let alone a casual/kid/noob. Punishing for low ranks with a crazy side to their game, lol.

In DDH, it's harder to carry sh*t players we can't talk/text with. There's many 'pinches' and these jobs are much more involved in that you need all to do a decent 'minimum' to pass. Often on old heists, I've just completely run the show as it would be, lol (Or done f*ck all, ;) - 'Stay in the truck, follow me' comes to mind).

Old heists are just so widely known now. The NPC's are far fewer and softer. Hell, I bet even the old CMM is easier for some than a regular run through DDH. Lol. Genuinely.

Long jobs. DDH has a couple of horrendously long jobs. Boring few too. Following that helicopter, or being a passenger in the Volatol, can be so f*cking tedious!.

Not really 'grinder friendly'. Gotta wait too long to spam the big one. Where as Pac Standard can be re-hosted by a teammate as soon as you want after the previous run. And with DDH, if done normally, you lose progress on your act if it matches the on call one you did, lol. Load of crap!.

Heist gameplay only works best as single player!

This though. I completely disagree. (Though I do enjoy story heists too, without doubt).

These heists, when all the boxes are checked, are simply fantastic. Of course, there's much that could be improved and IMO, there's little excuses for the faults with DDH's OP NPC's etc. But when these are played with 1, 2, or 3 others that are on the right page and are capable. These can't be topped.

Good money too. Because of these, I never needed to worry about the downside to public businesses, lol. I hope they stay/return in RDR2 and GTA.

So much room for more, bigger heists too.

I think there is some truth to the theory that less players needed for Doomsday equals less invites overall.

It's really just easier with 2 people who know each other.

In fact 4 peoples tends to slow things down much of the time unless all 4 are accomplished.

Pretty much. It should be clear as ice that this one of the main reasons you don't see as many DD invites... cause they don't need more people lol.

Although there are less invites for doomsday, I find that I can go on call and get started on a doomsday heist much faster than for the original heists. It's also faster to earn money, with some of the setups paying $45k, and the act 2 and 3 finales being over quickly and paying well even if you only get 15%.

Classic horror - run for you life - I don't see a sh*t - Panic - Lester screams loud - Panic - Player died, repeats 3 times on the screen

The Wandering Hunter

all heists are somewhat sh*tty imo.

originals are a f*cking pain to get a full loby for, be it useless randoms or dicking about in meetups.

the payout for the originals is pretty bad except for pacific with a team that never dies (or a team that repeat glitches)

doomsday is way better in that you can 2 man it with a friend however, the freemode preps are awful and you shouldn't need to replay them to redo the heist. especially having to steal 4 cars even to 2 man it.

doomsday also has increadibly sh*t balance. i'll not bother expanding on that, you should know what i mean.

also there's a lot of boring sh*t in doomsday like:

being the avenger gunner

a 20 minute shooting gallery while someone hacks

THE f*ckING CHERNOBOG (bring me a hunter or bring me death) who in their right mind designed that sh*t and thought it was fun.

the bombing mission which is made harder with 4 especially without mics (again, i own 2 hunters)

the tank mission which is boring af as a gunner on repeats

because theyre easier and more accessible. doomsday is very hard with randoms ive been trying to complete it and almost every setup takes like 5 tries. im currently on the 3rd setup for act 2 and i gave up and turned the game off after people kept dying and leaving. ill try again eventually but it is annoying i would guess most people who do them dont send out invites to randoms and just find groups of high level players or only do it with people they already know. you can do the original heists with randoms because most of them know how to do them by now and only a few are new enough or retarded enough to still fail.

I run strictly the Doomsday Heist.

Prep missions are so easy I solo them in about a half hour and only takes that long because I use the Deluxo (people tend to stay clear of it and the Oppressor when doing Preps).

With 2 or more people they border on ridiculously easy.

Not sure why the complaints.

Even collecting 4 cars in other Preps is easy with the correct transportation and well located Facility

Probably because original heists don't give bullsh*t public session "prep" missions. Trade off is you can do Doomsday heist with just one asshole instead of 3, but doomsday, from my experience, is more trouble than it's worth, and every random expect 50/50 when they ain't did sh*t. A 50/50 split for Doomsday act 3 finale isn't even remotely fair to the host if he is doing all the prep work solo. I'm still waiting to finish the finale until I run into some competent players who can show me why they deserve a 50/50 split.

So far, no one is worth my time.

Although I get more doomsday invites than original heists, original heists are more dead than ever. Legit took me 30 minutes to fill the lobby with 3 for one set up, and they sucked/failed/died.

Original or new, people always find a way to suck and Doomsday is as close as I can get to a lonewolf update.
