massivattacc2000
Hey guys. Whenever I first played the "Black Project" mission on my save game and died, the mission seemed to keep going on, but I couldn't actually progress through the mission. The second time I tried, and this time I succeeded, the destination marker from the first try on the mission was still there. Can y'all help me? lil weasel
Which game did you buy? DVD v1, DVD v2, STEAM registered v3? IF the game is Stolen (Torrent, Warez, Pirated) Try asking at the source site. Are any modifications applied to the game? [Get Rid of them? Is the Saves used yours or downloaded from another source? Did you use a lot of Cheats? by OrionSr Posted 01 January 2010 - 10:36 PM Stray blips are an occasional problem. There's not much you can do about it on PS2 or Xbox, but if you play on PC then try out hmvartak's Online Glitch Repair Tool. It has a feature for removing stray blips from the radar map. Upload the save, and download the repaired file. There's a feature to select the blip, but if your stray is a simple triangle/square then I suspect the repair will occur automatically. OrionSR
Oh. Ouch. This sounds like a classic case of mission duping. It's a common exploit used by speed runners and vehicle collector that allows missions and other scripts to be mixed together in unusual ways. One of the common side-effects, however, is that destination marker blips tend to get stuck on the map. Did you happen to notice a phone call starting to chirp just as you started the mission? That's how these problems usually start, but you don't always hear the call coming in. Anyway, there used to be a site that could fix this sort of problem but it's dead now. But if you upload your save to GTASnP.com and post the link here I'll take a look and see if I can unallocate the stray blip for you.
Nick007J
If I remember my research correctly, Black Project is one of two story missions that can be accidentally duped without player doing anything wrong (or intentional). For that, however, Millie has to be a girlfriend of CJ, so I won't be surprised if OP had already unlocked her. Second mission of that kind is Grove 4 Life. Edit: or maybe it is Barbara, I am not sure which area Black Project starting marker correspond to in terms of girlfriend call zones. OrionSR
I'm pretty sure it's rural, so that would mean Barbara or Helena. Is the other story mission with duping issues Mike Toreno? I seem to remember issues with stray markers left over from that mission.
Nick007J
No, that's Grove 4 Life. I am pretty sure Mike Toreno can't be duped accidentally, but somewhat related thing is that Toreno's Last Flight has a glitch, Rocket Launcher and AK-47 pickups are not removed after mission end. So not picking them up during mission allows keeping these pickups even in a savefile.

I use a Steam version that I downgraded to the 1.0 version, so I bought it off of Steam last summer. And I only use MY saves because I generally don't like going too far when it comes to cheating. It makes it less fun. Though I had to use the Cheat Menu mod to play some missions that I wasn't able to play. I only use character and inventory cheats. I don't use mods that affect missions. OrionSR
http://gtasnp.com/gQznmv Well... This one looks better, but... I'm not really sure what I unallocated before or which of the half dozen or so suspicious looking records I cleaned up this time was responsible for your glitch. I suspect this will work as expected but I usually have more confidence in my repairs.
