Deleted all single player mod files from my GTA5 directory..

....Is it now safe to go online or do I need to reinstall, here is a list of the files I added & then removed:

dinput8.dll

Cheers for that Sanches, I made a manifest of all the files I use in notepad & when I go online I know to delete those said files

Yeah or keep everything where it is and rename "dinput8.dll" to "dinput8.dll.disabled" to prevent it from loading any mods.

So GTAonline won't detect the other files so long as dinput8.dll is changed or removed?

Cheat detection system is real bad and ignores many files. But i wouldn't take any chances. I've seen people telling that they were getting banned while doing it in a such way.

John, if there's enough space on your PC, you can have two copies of GTA. One with mods and other's clean. And switch between them depends on what you want.

^ if you don't have HD space like me, you can put all the mods in a folder then when you want to use them just drag and drop all together into the GTAV root folder.

Then when you're done playing just hold Ctrl Z and it will undo the last move, so you're mods should return to their folder. Always check the root folder though as some save files can be created using some mods (like the mission creator).

Well I'd be dubious over ban reports for that one, seeing as having dinput8.dll in your directory would prevent you getting online in the first place.

 

Two directories is definitely the best option.

 

Also, Rockstar / the launcher / whatever only checks for the game files and their integrity, it doesn't scan the directory and report back all the files that are there as that'd be stepping into some legal grey areas re: privacy.
