Schuimpruim
The type of car depends on what you're planning to do the most. If it heists its obviously the armored Kuruma. Its decent in speed and npc's will not hit you alot. But as a first car i recommend the elegy Edited April 3, 2018 by Rikvdstars
AStiffBreeze
First step: sign up to the Rockstar Social Club and link your account. That will qualify you for a free Elegy RH8 (Nissan GT-R) whenever you want one in the game, and it also means you can do the new Treasure Hunt for the Double-Action revolver in the game. Complete the Treasure Hunt, get the Double-Action Revolver, and then get 50 headshots with it (I recommend going down to the Del Pierro police station, but you can do it wherever) to get $250,000. Then use that money to buy Apartment 10, 3 Alta St (for $217,000). At that point you can purchase your FREE Elegy RH8 off the Legendary Motorsports web site in-game and have it delivered to your apartment. It's a quick Sports car and will serve you well at the start of your GTA career. Other vehicles which are nice for new players: Bati 801. It's one of the quickest motorcycles (and overall vehicles) in the game, and it's only $15,000. Sultan. You can steal one of these off the street and park it in your garage to keep it. It's a quick four-door car, so good if you need to transport more than a single friend. Kuruma (Armoured version). You need to complete the first heist to unlock the cheap price for this, and it's still bloody expensive for a new player, so you can't get it straight away. But once you've levelled up enough to unlock the heists (and then the cheaper price), and have saved up for it, this car will be your workhorse throughout the rest of the game. It's $525,000, but worth every cent. Against NPCs, this car basically makes you invincible, so it's fantastic for everything involving NPCs (contact missions, heists, gang attacks, etc.). You don't really need anything else to begin with. For money making though, I do recommend buying the 870 Route 68 Approach Garage for $62,500, and then buying a Sandking XL to put in it. Then you can use that to spawn Sandking XLs at Larry's RVs, which you can sell for very good (and consistent) money. It's a great help for newer players. J-Scott-D
^ Lots of excellent advice. I also suggest asking someone on XBox to score a Dubsta2 for you. The Custom Sandking XLs are easy money, but if you're in the city a lot, Dub2s can be easy money for you, as well. If you buy the cheapest apartment with 10 car garage at Tinsel Towers ($280,000, I think) you can pull out of your garage with your Dub and sometimes one will be sitting at the nearby Burton Los Santos Customs for you to sell right then. ($23,250) AStiffBreeze

($23,250) The beauty of the Sandking XLs is that you can spawn them with 100% certainty from 9-5, provided other players aren't hanging around the area. In one in-game day from 9-5 you can fill your entire garage at Route 68. I don't know if better/more reliable methods are available now, but the last time I looked into it, the Dubsta spawns were incredibly capricious and unreliable. As a new player I just made the Route 68 garage my spawn point, and if it was 9-5 I would drive my seed car down there and sell the spawned one immediately at the LSC across the road. If it wasn't 9-5, I'd just drive one of my Sandkings from the garage to the LSC, sell it, and set my timer to 47 minutes. Then I could go about whatever else I was planning to do, and the phone invites will take teleport you wherever you need to go anyway. Smooth Longsack
As a new player, I'd buy a bahti motorcycle and a biker clubhouse. Being the president of a biker club lets you spawn unlimited motorcycles right next to you and you'll have a place to spawn once you add living quarters to the clubhouse. That'll make you pretty mobile, which is paramount in the beginning. Edited April 3, 2018 by Smooth Longsack

I'm not sure if it still spawns in PS4 or not. I had no luck spawning one lately The Dubsta2 is indeed a cool car, and that's why I've kept one myself. And I think it's awesome that people here at GTAF have spent so much time and effort finding better spawning methods that we can all use, and they should be commended for that. They're good people I also think it's really important that the process not be misrepresented though, especially in a thread for new players. Dubsta2 spawning is incredibly unreliable, so new players shouldn't be investing money in Tinsel Towers expecting to be able to drive out and spawn one at will. That won't happen. Dubsta2 spawning is more for people who like the vehicle, or enjoy the challenge of the process. Apologies if that comes off as harsh, I just thought it was important to be clear about it. EDIT: To bring this back on topic, here's the Sandking XL spawn process. You need two things: 1. The 870 Route 68 Garage ($62,500) 2. A fully insured Sandking XL as a seed vehicle. You can find these on the street and then insure them, but I recommend just buying one ($45,000) off the Southern San Andreas Super Autos site (make sure you buy the XL variant, not the SWB one). Keep it in your Route 68 garage, never sell it, and I recommend making it any colour other than yellow or blue so that it stands out. Mine is black. This is the method you use: As you can see in the video, the trick is turning the camera away from the spawn area as you approach, and then slowing right down and slowly panning the camera across once you reach the spawn area. It works 100% of the time. You can see that you can fill the entire garage with Sandking XLs in about 10 minutes. It's best to do it in passive mode, so that you don't get NPC bounties set on you. Two caveats for spawning them: 1. It only works during the in-game hours of 9am-5pm (pull up your phone to check the current time). 2. It won't work if another player is in the vicinity of where the Sandkings spawn. When it comes to selling them, you're allowed to sell one vehicle every 47 minutes of real time (that equates to 24 hours in-game). I recommend setting a timer every time you sell one. You can sell them at any LSC (just call your mechanic to have one delivered to you, wherever you are), just be careful to avoid damage to them on the way to sell them (since you'll get charged to repair the vehicle). I also recommend leaving your fully insured 'seed' car in the first garage spot (so you don't accidentally get the mechanic to deliver it), and never selling that one. The two variants (yellow and blue) spawn at random, and sell for roughly 17.5K and 18.5K respectively. Note that in weeks where there are discounts on certain car modifications, the sell price might go down slightly. The way I do things: Set the Route 68 garage as your spawn point. Spawn in, and check the time: if it's 9am-5pm, I'll drive my seed car down there and immediately sell the Sandking that spawns in (there's an LSC across the road). After that, it it's still 9am-5pm and my garage isn't full, I'll fill the garage up. If I spawn in and it's not 9am-5pm, I'll drive one of my yellow or blue Sandkings down to LSC to sell it, and then get on with the game Edited April 5, 2018 by AStiffBreeze

AStiffBreeze
how do you insure the car? and how do u spawn a car? i am a total noobIf you buy a car using one of the in-game websites, it comes fully insured and you don't need to worry about it. However, if you save a car by stealing it off the street and then parking it inside one of your garages, it won't be insured. In that case, you need to drive it into a Los Santos Customs and insurance is one of the things you can buy for it. When inside your garage, if you push down on the d-pad, a box will appear above all of your vehicles, telling you which ones are insured. Note that if your friends are inside your garage, they'll all display as "not insured" for them, so don't let them freak you out For spawning vehicles, if you mean how do you spawn in one of the modified Sandking XLs, just watch that YouTube clip I posted. If you mean how do you get your own cars delivered to you, then you bring up the phone, go to Contacts, and call the Mechanic (if you have a garage). Then you just pick the car you want to have delivered (they're organised by garage) from the in-screen menu. Arrows to Athens
RaceHork731
I used a Sultan for my first car, it is brilliant and I still have the original car in my garage till today! It is also decently fast car that also does quite well offroad, and when you get the money you can choose to turn it into the Benny's version, which I decided not to opt for because I don't like silly widebodies. WillProx
Elegy RH8 of course. The best car you could get for its price (0$). Start with Dominator is good too, but you know, Elegy RH8 was a top of the Sports class 2013-2018 (Pariah and Comet SR from Doomsday). Bati 801 if you like bikes - It costs a penny, but its the fastest motorcycle in the game (Not on the lap tho) Edited April 5, 2018 by WillProx

Hellbendzor
Elegy RH8... Use that one.. A great car and free... I used that particular car too to go through the RP-level up that u need to unlock all tuning options of cars... It was nice to use it like that... Working towards a certain bumper,... Working for my turbo, engine tune,etc,... (I used contactmissions to level up btw) Then when everything is unlocked, u buy a nice car from the Legendary website... A very versatile car (sportsclass) to be used in races, but also for freeroam is the Jester... Looks great and very stable and fast... It never dissappoints.. Still use it alot these days... Only 240K. For the superclass the choice is extremely diverse... I still like the Osiris to this day. Very stable and great handling. So is the T20, although that one is a lil more difficult to master... Edited April 5, 2018 by Hellbendzor Dragon_Of_Tragedy
Action_Andy
If I would start new (I never will ...), my first 10 garage would be: Elegy (free) Bati (15k) Akuma (9k) Sultan (free) Sandking XL (free) Armored Kuruma (550k?) Zion (free) Dominator (free) Ruiner (free) Futo (free+Eurobeat) BMX Don't bother buying Supers or any expensive cars before you unlocked all performance upgrades. 1. Buy a cheap high-end appartment (comes with 10-slots garage and planning room for heists) 2. Do Fleeca Heist 3. Buy Armored Kuruma. 4. Contact Missions are your best friends now. 5. Heists 6. You want to buy a Buzzard now. 7. Headhunter + Sightseer in Invite Lobbies 8. Maze Bank West + Warehouse 9. Learn how to get a single public lobby 10. Welcome to the neverending grind. Zee_Lolz
Cheapest armored vehicle off the top of my head is the schafter v12 armored. Costs 325,000 and can take 3 explosions. Kuruma is probably the best vehicle to get for doing any missions. Insurgent can be useful to defend against tryhards and griefers. Bati 801 for scheer performance per dollar value. And elegy because free, no brainer. Also, the Buzzard was mentioned before, ill vouch for it too. Can be spawned beside you if registered as ceo/vip
Gaffa
Just as a FYI, the armoured vehicles will be destroyed with the second explosive. When it comes to Rifle or Shotgun explosive rounds, it should blow up on the fourth. It seems to be a hardcoded resistance, for example, the Insurgent Pick-up Custom - which has more resistant than the armoured vehicles - will blow up from one shot from the Dual 20mm Flak Cannon, whereas these armoured cars will survive that one shot. Dr.Rosenthal
"Buy" Elegy RH8 for Sports, then steal a Lampadati Felon, Ubermacht Oracle or a Karin Sultan of the streets and tune the one of your choosing to your best ability. There are plenty more advice for beginners of course, but with these cars you've got a) a competitive Sports vehicle for races, and b) a versatile 4-door vehicle with good handling... And all of the above is for free except for the upgrades, naturally, but as a new player you can't purchase the best upgrades at once anyway, so you'll have to upgrade gradually.
