If you've been falsely banned, please read

OK, as most people now know, a few days ago clearly another false banwave hit the PC for GTAO with many upstanding members of the community hit.

 

Today (28th March 2018), R* un-banned many, seemingly having realised their mistake. Unfortunately there are reports that several players who got their accounts back have logged on again, only to be re-banned again with minutes.

So R* clearly don't know what's going on at this stage.

 

This might be optimistic, but perhaps we can do better.

 

If you were falsely banned, either once or twice, I wondered if you'd mind sharing as much details as possible about your circumstances, such as:

1) Your PC hardware spec

2) Any benign software running in the background (check your task manager, MSI afterburner was touted as a possible cause of the 2017 banwave)

3) Your GTA O players stats and details - e.g. rank, money etc.

4) What were you doing when banned, if in game?

5) Any other relevant details.

 

Perhaps if enough players share this info we can spot a pattern? The ban wave is being instigated by computer code so there must be one. The problem is there could also be more than one cause for different players

 

If we could keep randoms comments out this thread that would be appreciated. Not sure if people will want to share their details but thought this was worth a try.

 

As an example, I have not been banned so far at all, so here are some control variables:

McAfee Anti Virus (don't laugh, my bank gave it to me for free)

My GTA O Character details:

Rank 379 currently, stats say 140m earned, 200m spent (we know that stat is messed up) and 20m in the bank.

 

Play mostly freemode businesses and heists, racking up about 6 hours of that stuff after the ban-wave hit. I have never received money from a script kiddie, never modded the game, never duped cars or glitched at all. The only marginally dubious thing I have done is to use my firewall to get a public session on my own in the past (specifically, when ForceHax was running riot and users were able to remotely manipulate your rank and bank balance - I feel no guilt about that, I don't believe it breaks the EULA either, and I haven't used that trick recently - and certainly not since the ban-wave hit).

 

I haven't touched the new hot ring races at all.

 

PS I have a separate rank 230 account transferred from the PS3 which is pretty much the same in most respects but is played off the retail disc version. Not been touched either so far. About to leave that on overnight as I still need to clear the research in the bunker on that one.

 

As I haven't been banned yet, we can probably rule out any of the above being a factor.

I was banned on friday, unbanned today and banned again.

My specs:

Game Version: Physical copy

Software running in the background:

Always discord

Avira anti virus

Sometimes chrome

Team viewer

Logitech Gaming Software

Maybe a few more like my printer software etc.

Gta Online character details:

Play time 138d, rank 960, cash earned is around 500 mil (can't check on profile cause it's all 0 again), cash spent around 400mil, had 83mil in the bank when i was banned on friday, today had 102mil when I got unbanned.

My most played jobs are VIP jobs, usually in full lobbies since I like to pvp. But basically I do everything except adversary modes. On friday the last thing I did was play contact missions, about 1 hour after I closed the game I received an email that I was banned. Today I was banned while playing, was doing special cargo missions with a friend, we were the only ones in the lobby. I also never used any kind of cheats, only thing I sometimes use is the whole "suspend gta process for a few seconds" trick to get a public session on my own. Had money dropped on me a few times but I always switched lobbies immediately so it was very little, around 30k every time. Never bothered reporting to R* support for such low amounts of money.

This might sound stupid but is there any chance they banned everyone again to fix the amount of money we get when we were unbanned. A lot of players besides me got their previous amount back plus all the $ they ever got from shark cards, I got an extra 19mil when I was unbanned today.

The more stupid the explanation sounds, the more likely it might be right, given how idiotic R*'s behaviour looks right now. But at least one person has been re-banned whilst not it the game it seems. So it clearly wasn't new behaviour in game that triggered it a second time. My guess is they've simply cocked up the un-banning.

Yes, i received modded money multiple times against my will. Always opened a support-ticket informing rockstar that i received money and asked them to remove it. Funny enough, they always stated i don´t have to worry about that and let me keep it.

Not with this account. With my main account yes. However Discord wasn't running when I was suspended in-game, when playing a contact mission the 23th april.

Checked my modded account that I got back when missed the transfer: all good and running. Contacted those guys I earlier mentioned who are using modded accounts, they're still flying under the radar. One was playing with me today. They walked after GR and they will walk now, I can guarantee it. All purchased their accounts at the same place, though and I should admit it was a quality job, now they look absolutely legit: ranks under 500, money under 100, regular KD and maxed stats.

 

I'm not banned yest, playing with shadow play, corsair utility engine, logitech options and logitech gamins software (i use 2 different mice: G502 and MX Master). My specs are mediocre: 4790k/16GB/980-1080 (still checking the performance of 1080 on the other machine, played a lot with 980 and honestly it's more than enough), I'm using Win 10 v 1607 with disabled updates for gaming. I have 60 mil in the bank, rank 380.

The last time i was playing gtao was the thursday before the banwave started. I did not get hit though.
