great GTA online 2 player missions/jobs/activities to play with a complete noob

Hi guys!

I am playing GTA online with a friend. The problem is that she is a complete noob. Like really complete newbe (0 video game experience). I can't do any heists with her. She does not know how to shoot, drive a car and she walks like drunk...

What kind of missions/jobs/activities we could do together in the game? Activity should be, obviously, playable with two players, ideally cooperative in nature and have a learning effect on her (things she learns by doing it should eventually allow her to take on more challenging missions). So far, we have tried firing range at Ammu-Nation - it's great because she can learn to shoot and I can either win it by taking it seriously or let her win it by making it more difficult for myself.

Golf and tennis also sound interesting but since they have limited effect on her learning to be more self-sufficient in other jobs/missions, I'd keep those on the side-lines.

Jobs/missions/activities could also be such where I "carry" it. That is, I am the muscle doing all the hard work. But they shouldn’t be such where she has nothing to do. The last thing I want is for her to get bored with the game. Jobs/missions/activities shouldn't be such where she gets killed easily either (I have armored Kuruma, though, which can help to prevent that in some situations).

Anyhow, I'd like to know what else can you guys come up with? What would you play in my situation?

I'd start off with the lower end contact missions, and ease her into the game. Play on easy and try to draw fire, but let her get her bearings somewhat.

Pier Pressure and other starter jobs like that are what got my cousin into videogames. He's quite young, and is a pro at GTA at this point.

I'd also recommend against using the Kuruma, because it will lead to a sense of complacency that can also lead to one getting tired of the game. It provides a sense of security so strong that getting out of the car feels discomforting even for those familiar with the game. People who are new to gaming as a whole should avoid using the car, as it may cripple expectations of combat when it is unavailable.

Haha, that's some familiar situation. I've been through that too while i was showing GTAO to my friend. But the difference is that my friend played Counter-Strike before, so she had atleast some skills of shooting. Let me tell how i taught her to play.
From the very beginning, we were doing missions. Sorry, i can't recommend you any, i don't know them well. I think Simeon's are good starter, since you have to drive there most of the times. Then Lamar's tanker missions, because they combine driving and drive-by.
After that we started to do Ammu-Nation shooting range, but it was annoying, since of loading times (or i was doing something wrong, not sure). So basically shortly after we started to play Survivals. And we ended up screwing around in freeroam. Doing some cops shootouts and small PvP (glad it was before Gunrunning update).
So yeah, that's a small list, but we found it enough to teach her. Oh and also, warn your friend about toxic community, don't let your friend get demoraled by in-game chat.

^ This. Contact missions. They're so simple that anyone could successfully complete them (even if it takes a few attempts). They're good for working on her aim, but also enjoyable for a complete noob. And the skills picked up from Contact Missions go hand in hand with starting up heists from The Fleeca Job and beyond.

Start her off with Rooftop Rumble ;) Just kidding, go with something like... damn, what's that one where you've got to steal the RV from some meth-heads for Trevor? That one.

And I'm not sure if it still exists, but Potshot is a good one too

^ That would be "Crank up the Volume" (Ron Mission), although that one can become surprisingly messy for a beginner. I rather recommend its "sequel", Meth'd up (Gerald), since you can tackle that one in many different ways, from slowly sniping the guys to quick-massacre-mode.

As has been mentioned before, Gerald missions are a great starting point.

As to using the Kuruma, I'm with "Zader"'s warning, four posts above: The Kuruma is an awesome tool, but it tends to take away more than it actually gives, so use it wisely.

It can be e.g. a nice place for your friend to stay put during the initial "mad (half-)minute" of a shootout during certain contact missions, but nothing more. True, Gerald, Lester, and Ron missions can become a walk in the park, happily spraying away with your AP Pistol from the safety of your Kuruma. I did that myself for better grinding the 4-6 minutes payouts, but I was already Lvl 150-something when I bought the Kuruma, finally giving in to mere curiosity (in fact, I seldom buy stuff for only tactical reasons, and I never liked the look of the Kuruma). The Kuruma takes away any tactical element, especially for training purposes in early character building, I cannot recommend using it. In case of emergency, rather use the Duke'o'Death - it provides similar protection during any initial shooting, but not for eternity (plus, it looks far better, in my admittedly biased opinion :) )

El Diablo 702

Dont forget the daily objectives. Decent variety of game modes that u can do together and get some of the bonus cash. Gang attacks from an invite only lobby are good to learn combat as a low level also

As for golf and darts - they built up charackters strengh which once its maxed out, is useful everywhere in the game. For the missions: Lamar, Trevor and Simeons ones are a great starter - as Zader said - without Kuruma for the experience and training.

I was in pretty much the same situation but the person in question would be on for very short periods of time on weekdays (and mostly times when I wasn't available) and then very random times on weekends so I only got to play with them for limited periods of time even though we tried to schedule sessions in advance numerous times.

Eventually she just got bored of GTA and now plays Burnout Paradise Remastered all the time lol. I kinda feel bad because I think it's due to the fact that she didn't get the proper amount of help in her first few days into GTA (I would always see her shopping for clothes and cars instead of playing) and she probably just got tired of not knowing what to do next or not having enough money etc. etc.

When she did do missions and such she would mostly rely on others to get the job done as she wasn't too experienced herself so I kinda felt for her when she just moved onto other games. Hopefully they start playing GTA again soon though because I'm more than ready and prepared to show her the ropes this time around lol.

You may also try doing Bunker supplies, MC missions, etc. Most of them can be carried alone by any strong player, but your partner gets plenty occasions to "make a difference" anyway, building up confidence; it also doesn't matter how often your friend dies in the process, contrary to the whole "team lives" business in contacts and heists. The feeling of messing up the job for the whole team by not keeping up, or even ruining it by dying, can become a very intimidating factor for new players, so you can try and take away such pressure from your friend by doing CEO stuff.

For heist, make sure she wears the Heavy Vest. It just takes some pedagogy and patience. Try to simulate the situations in free-roam (invite only better ofc). For example riding bike in Raton Canyon to play PAC-Stand final, so she gets familiarized with the various shortcuts.

Play Survivals, the easiest ones, so she can learn to headshot, teach her to wiggle, to roll, to zoom/unzoom...that kind of basic stuff.

I suggest Heavy Vest because its boring to restart 50 times the same final when what you want is to get the job done and the money.

Many thanks for replies guys. Keep them coming.

I'll analyze the options over coming days and eventually report back how the game went. Just to clarify, though, I don't own a bunker, facility, hangar or clubhouse in the game - so, none of those would be immediately available to me. Though, I guess, I could buy a clubhouse for us as those are not that expensive. But I am registered CEO with an office and vehicle warehouses (I spent all the money I made in the game so far on those and I haven't actually had the time to done anything with these properties).

I also thought about rally races where she could be navigator but for that, we would need minimum 2 other players, I guess.

Sanches's suggestion about screwing around the invite-only freeroam sounds very good. I was also thinking about simply taking her to the hills on bicycle without any specific objective. Just to see how far we can get. (In the city, she jaywalks and gets run over by NPCs and accidentally starts fights with them too. And there is police. Going to nature looks good to me because it is safer there.) Though, if any of you have any good objective for our hike (sight to see or mission/job/activity we could trigger by hiking somewhere), let me know.

El Diablo 702 suggestion on daily objectives looks interesting but I guess it really depends on what the daily objectives are. If they are too hard for her, they won't be suitable. Easy money of daily objectives is not my objective here - I need to get her interested in the game and what earns best money might neither be easy or fun for her.

As for dartz, suggest by Mrs. Buzz, again, stamina buildup is not something I am concerned about here :)

Anyhow, guys, thanks, and keep those ideas coming.

The Wandering Hunter

also the doomsday heist is probably pretty easy for a noob if you just tell them to press the cover button on occasion. high levels love running out and getting shot for some reason.

(excluding last finale)

take cover spam auto aim until there are no enemies repeat.

make sure they have snacks and a special carbine though.

the ddh, old heists and contact missions are the only pve content that is truely pve in this game, (lamar missions exist but f*ck them).

actually thinking about it, coop captures we're pretty fun when captures were double money 400 years ago. they will still exist somewhere. and allow you to use overpowered vehicles for free against ais in other op vehicles.

Contact missions and Survivals are always the best ways to start off for a new player imo. Started off the same way myself during the launch period.

Contact missions from Gerald, Simeon and Lamar are a walk in the park, perfect to teach her the ropes.

Consider taking her to the gun range and tell her to beat your score.

Avoid missions from Lester, Ron, Trevor and Martin as these are a step up in difficultly.

Don't bother with heists until she is ready(I say level 80 should be good for Fleeca and Prison Break heists)

Also consider taking her on deathmatches, show her the way of rolling to the side and headshots.

Lonely-Martin

VIP work and MC contracts, contact missions, and Fleeca heists are good to begin with, survivals too, sports for stats, and fill awards to gain extra RP/trophies too. Any 2x event that fits with your natural game too, always good.

Player created LTS matches. Stuff like Rockets vs Insurgents or bowling and such. Just random fun, but usually balanced and great for new folk to see how others do things too. Good cash for a laugh.

Contact missions from Gerald.

I like Violent Duct when not soloed, its a good way to demonstrate to someone how flanking NPCs is a good approach.

1-highest level take them from front

2-low level heads to the left, then flanks NPCs who are busy shooting the high level.

This even functions with the new idiotic invisible Juggernaut from DD heist, they shoot a bit if you flank them, but you still have time to land some RPG or to snipe them.

I think finishing GTA V story mode is a requirement in this case.

She is not interested in practicing alone in the single player. So, unfortunately, that is not an option.

All good advice but remember the most important factor, have fun. If she dosent enjoy playing now the difficulty wont matter. Just enjoy the game together whatever mode you play

Lost MC RIP Contact Mission.

Straight forward gun fight, one location, bunch of AI, good to practice in all aspects of combat & even with vehicles if you have them.

Playing the Los Santos Connection on easy can be sort of an adventure for new players.

VIP CEO work is also pretty good for private co-op, even for newbies.

From combat, to car stealing, there's a little bit of everything in those & they pay well.

Non-combat: I'd say golf, sea races, & parachuting.
