Prejudice - How do you judge other players?

Prejudice is silly. One of the reasons humans still struggle to find peace.

So if you ever play Gta online and see someone with invisible glitched clothing, white hair, a rebreather, riding a flying missile bike, is it not a good idea to avoid them?

I simply judge them on playing ability/style and if they'll take feedback, when warranted. Sadly, those two things knock out 99% of the GTA player base.

No, not always. I've befriended said players even though most of them were socially awkward sometimes they are not evil incarnate. They just play another way If they ain't blatantly cheating Idk what makes them such a menace. The game gives us all enough tools to deal with each other. It can even be funny to join up with them from time to time, or go against.

Instead of going out grinding your ass off all day in a solo enviroment makes you realise GTA definetly can be enjoyable when it doesn't feel like work. Isnt it why people play games, to be entertained ? I know I do.

Could you see my char looks you'd probably think oh well typical tryhard kd/whore whatnot but little you'd know about who I am as a person, how much people I helped with heist jobs of all sorts and whatever down the years playing this game.

Looks do deceive all the time but like I said prejudice is a bad thing generally. It is not always wrong to assume something, that is just part of the thought process but you also need to be able to think out of the box and not be so narrow minded.

I also show extreme prejudice to any and all Deluxo drivers, particularly those that go around in Deluxo convoys. It's worth the insurance payout to blow them up.

Killer Whale

I see someone on a lobby, I assume they're out to attack me.

Those who have facepaints and eye lenses I see as tryhards and I avoid them whenever I can.

Those with low levels joining heists, from 5 to 74, I see them as newbs trying to get a quick buck and low health. Doesn't matter that's your second save, you're gonna get shredded by the AI.

So you essentially judge every gamer in the game in a negative manner...

Not really, there are plenty of other traits I pick up on and pass positive judgement on players, but prejudice is usually about the negative so I only concentrated on those. I also almost always give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance (AND a second chance) to prove my primitive prejudiced mind wrong, I'm not quick to draw conclusions.

I'm level 176 but I don't always set my contact mission to hard unless I'm with my crew mates or I'm by myself. If I'm hosting and randoms join, I don't put it on hard unless they ask because I don't know how skilled they are. No sense in me assuming they can handle it.

That's how I expect one to treat heists, but contact missions are easily done alone especially at level 176, the other players are just there as a safety net for if you die mid-mission so they can complete it, or just to be amazed by how awesome you are with your unique ways of completing them ;p

Also when I join and see that the host is not a noob but the mission is not on hard I immediately leave, with a feeling that I almost just got robbed for my time, and I assume I'm not the only one, plus, all it ever does is give you one less life, as if you need it that much, nothing actually becomes harder, perhaps you should be more confident in your capabilities :)

-----
Thanks for contributing, everyone! some of the comments are really insightful and fun to read :)

Actually, I'm quite confident in my abilities. I run contact missions on hard unless I'm hosting randoms (which is practically never) and if I am hosting randoms, I don't run hard because usually they end up getting themselves killed because they don't listen and I'm not going to complete a hard mission and get them that extra money. I've joined too many random missions and ended up carrying them through it.

Queenslayer

More than 1 X in their name

Too many numbers in name

Ridiculously high K/D ratio

Dressed with bra and panties/covered in tatts/wrebreather

They get instantly reported (don't know if it does any good)

Everything that was mentioned above. But mostly I judge outfits

- tryhard outfits

- glitched outfits with clipping issues

- people that run around in underwear (usually with facepaint and tattoos)

- people with default outfit (probably scriptkido)

- people in skinny jeans and this hoodie:

mqdefault.jpg

Edit:

oh and

- people that religiously fallow GPS and NEVER use shortcuts

- people that always jump out aircrafts instead of landing

- people that are lvl +200 and they don't know how to fly helicopters

- ugly people

edit2:

I like gentlemen in suits tho.

Nice list, apart from ugly people. I'm pleasantly surprised when I see an ugly character, particularly if they've made an effort to look like a real person. Most people (including me) tried to make their characters as young and handsome as possible.

Obviously I wear a suit, but of course not with a waistcoat.

1. Uncreative names. I know some people have no originality, but put some f*cking effort into your gamer tag. I'm tired of reading sh*t like Enjoydatkill, Trillboi, CannedChicken, relatively any f*cking thing Xbox generated or millennial created. Mines is specifically named after one an event in my universe.

There's all these people with names ending in 'Gaming', eg BobGaming, DaveGaming etc. What's that all about? Do they use the same naming scheme in other areas like BobDating and DaveFacebook?

I judge every player the same. I don’t judge by name, appearance, race, clothing, gender, vehicle used, vehicle design, drive style, because I think that’s fairest. It doesn’t bother me if you’re using unusual things. If you like your character that way, go nuts on it. Chrome cars with dollar sign rims? Hey, if that’s your thing, go wild. I don’t care at all. I take every player exactly the same. All fun and games.

So, I think every other player out there is a trigger happy epeen spanking moron with little to no self esteem irl, ready to kill you on sight because it’s fun or to “prevent from being killed”. Avoid at all cost!

If I see someone kill someone else a lot, yet suspiciously die after every kill or so you can bet your ass I'll go over there and fight him, more often than not with my Akula, since a stealthy rocket strafe is hard to cheap your way out of.

I don't like these types of characters:

-characters dressed only in shorts and a Pogo mask (classic griefers)

-characters dressed in tacticool outfit and rebreather, with red eyes, unnatural hair color, and face tattoos/facepaint (modern griefers aka tryhards)

-characters who drive around in futuristic looking concept super cars painted in tacky colors with dollar wheels (preteen kids or trolls)

-characters who look like hipsters, with sidecut haircuts and skinny jeans (I don't like people who look like that IRL either,I guess because there's one guy I know, who is a hipster, and is also an annoying douche)

I like these types of characters:

-bikers,particularly if they look like an actual biker you could see IRL (my character belongs in this group)

-by extent most normal looking characters who drive normal looking vehicles, especially if they are following a certain theme (I assume people whose characters look like bikers, gangstas, classic mobsters, film noir detectives, cops or whatever are peaceful roleplayers who won't attack for no reason)

Clothing is usually a telltale sign of griefers/tryhards. I hate glitched outfits utilizing those pink heist pants with shoes that make your ankles disappear

Using chrome on the wrong vehicles or using those dollar rim tires just looks bad on you (makes you look like a 9 year old e-gangster imo)

If you ever have white hair and no irises (plus the usual rebreather and BP helmet), I'm slamming you into Grieftown. I'd seriously keep that 1.4m gunrunning sale under close eyes :sneaky:

Oh yeah, everytime I see a rank 8000, I usually send them a message letting them know that they should prepare their anus for the amount of buttrape that's about to ensue.

To me, Pogo mask = small 7 year old child squeaker child who wants modded money

As of late I generally assume anyone in a Deluxo is a troll. Its not fair but I do. Ive actually quite enjoyed stalking them in the Akula though and with that I probably fit some stereotype of theirs.

Anyone in a jet. I generally assume theyre a coward. Their flying skills can be on point but for some reason I think theyre mouth breathers with no skill at ground combat. I dont have much in the way of interaction with them either since Im not big on wasting my time. Theyre always going to ghost org and go off radar and theyll be passive the moment you take to the air...Im not often bothered by them but I still assume theyre scum.

As a racer with 100+ more wins than losses Im not going to hold that against anyone but if I enter a race with a 5000 win 3000 loss racer I generally exit the race at the ready up screen. These guys are good but they can also be quite nasty. Theyre the ones that race you clean until the exact moment they can remove you from contention. Theyll do 2 and a half laps avoiding contact and making clean passes but they seem to know when to spin you out or push you off the track on that last lap so that you no longer pose a threat. Whats worse is theyre often the host and if you win more than they want you to youre kicked at the next race. So yeah, its hypocritical but I generally avoid being in races with them and will make that snap judgement on occasion.

I Gotta agree in those 5000 wins/3000 losses guys. Of course you will Encounter players who are just that good, but more often than not you get kicked as soon as you even dare to overtake the host (after the race that is). There are some racers whom I've met quite reguarly who did this where I'd just join to annoy them even though I know I'd get kicked after one Match. I loved the salt.

Quite simply, it's a game which entices PvP, has focused on PvP for years, other players are going to be dicks. This is the same as any other game where other players can screw you over. It's the nature of the beast, it's the current gaming community, it's not limited to GTA by a long shot, it even happens in PvE games (seen players join payday 2 to purposely ruin a job, read about players joining minecraft and farming simulator with the sole intention of destroying another players game).

People who play online games are dicks.

5. Female characters: When a female character doesn't look edgy and in a tryhard outfit, I tend to assume they're not only someone's second character, but also from a person who enjoys doing Snapmatics of their female character. I generally don't care if the person behind a female character is male or female, but if the female characters is wearing little clothing and the person speaking through the mic has a deep, post 30s voice, I feel a bit creeped out.

^this Was an issue too back in the day with Everquest but now it's worse. These female toons... sheesh

Deluxo drivers. I've had a suspicion for anyone driving a Deluxo but I have tried very hard not to judge him/her for their vehicle choice. I had almost considered buying one myself just for the B2TF vibe.

A few weeks ago, in a nearly empty lobby, I had just completed a gunrunning sale and was zipping back to my office in my CEO Buzzard to start a crate sale. Just passing the racetrack, headed towards the aqueducts, a random event for flying under bridges pops up. Sure, why not... kinda bored, so let's hit these bridges here. Going under the first bridge I see a guy running towards his Deluxo. I stop and hover right near him. He turns and sees me in a perfect firing position to annihilate him if I was in the mood. But, I figure I'll give this guy the benefit of the doubt and I let him live. I continue on, flying under bridges one at a time, and notice that he is following me. Ok, sure... maybe he's doing this challenge too. After I reach the end of the aqueduct I turn to hit the drawbridge and he decides to shoot me down. WTF... so I respawn right next to the train tunnel in time to see him moving away.... just in time for me to take out my explosive sniper.

I'll likely never trust a Deluxo driver again.

Most people are assholes in this game, but they have a hierarchy:

1 tryhards - have to be killed slyly and repeatedly until they start with the hate mail.

2 jets - have to die because they don't get the concept of obsolescence.

3 deluxos - have to be blown up because spamming missiles isn't skill you fckin noob.

4 potter rockets - have to die for being cheap.

5 anyone in an armoured vehicle - has to die to learn that if it takes more rockets to blow you up, that's more fun for me.

6 anyone selling or transporting cargo, supplies, I.E. vehicles etc. - have to be murdered and/or robbed because I'm just playing the game man.

7 gangs - have to be visited by an off-radar savage to learn that making yourself a fat target is always a bad idea.

If they kill me for no particular reason, and, when I try to get a little payback, they keep killing me over and over and OVER again because, actually, they're a MUCH better player than I am, then: I don't like 'em. No Sir. Not at all. It happens A LOT more than I'd like to admit.

If you have more race wins than losses, you're a cheater.

That is not true. Like at all.

I have 131 wins and 117 losses... So I'm a cheater even though I have been playing since the beginning of 2015 and am currently rank 502?

Im just a good racer. How do you even cheat your win to loss in a race? Unless you have a modded account...
