Has the Gunrunning Insurgent always been made of paper?

I don't know if this is new or I was just lucky enough never to experience it before. I started a solo bunker sale tonight and got the "we're all business today" one-drop Insurgent, which is easily my favorite sale as it takes only a few minutes. Unfortunately I was barely a few hundred yards away from my bunker when a jet nimrod went straight at me. Didn't even have time to cue up ghost org before he strafed me. The shocking part was, the Insurgent exploded, I died, and it said my guns were destroyed almost immediately - this wasn't sustained fire or anything, it was within the first second that I died. I was stunned - I had planned on surviving his first pass, getting out of the vehicle, and shooting back at him with the explosive sniper. Obviously didn't get a chance so I just quit the lobby to preserve my stock.

So, is this new or has the Insurgent on that mission always been basically just a regular car..?

Happy Hunter

Could be that armour glitch - though that typically affects aircraft most of the time, rather than land vehicles. Plus I'm not sure if they patched that or not.

I think it was always a little weaker than a custom Insurgent, all upgraded with the best armour and everything. More like a stock one or something. But I don't think it was like a regular car.

Maybe a nerf? I hope not. Was it laggy?

Didn't seem laggy. His radar icon moved normally. And like you I always assumed that was basically a regular stock Insurgent.

Pretty sure the Insurgent Pick-Up and Pick-Up Customs in anything to do with Bunker missions (sales or supplies, enemy or own vehicle) are nerfed in their explosive resistance. Dunno why when stuff like the MC Businesses sale vehicles are mucho stronger.

It's paper. One tank round blows it up.

Gross. Well now I know. Will be a little quicker firing up the CEO abilities menu just in case I need it. On many previous runs I didn't even think about it, just assuming the Insurgent could take a few hits.

I find Rockstar's choices regarding some of this stuff to be really weird and inscrutable. Why make vehicle armor really weak or really strong on certain missions? How about just giving us the right vehicle for the job, or adjusting the global timer so we don't need such a good vehicle? Similarly, why jack up the AI on some missions beyond belief when most of the time you can take on twice as many guys with no problem? This game sometimes seems like they're just trying to confuse us as much as possible.

I'm not on PS4 and anyway I prefer public lobbies. It's more fun with a little risk, and you get paid more. But I do prefer knowing what I'm signing up for.

I confirm, even NPC ones aren't resistant as those we own as players. Two Buzzard missiles and they're done. Funny thing someone tried to blow me up yesterday with Annihilator while I was re-supplying my Bunker(Black matte Insurgent, Elysian Island mission with MW convoy). His aim was real bad, fortunatly.

Really depends of the shell it fires. But you're mostly right.

We wanted more challenging missions, better AI etc. they responded with the same dumb AI but accuracy, range and aggressiveness turned up to 11. I'm all for increasing the difficulty but not the way they have. It's pure laziness.

The resupply apc is also made out of paper. My buddy ones blew up one of the chasing contenders right next to us. The apc started smoking and blew up shortly after.

But you're mostly right.true. either it would blow them up, punch a hole clean through the object and many other objects behind that one. or do some crazy sh*t that the military don't want us to know about like detonate over a small town and release nerve agent.

If your on PS4 just MTU into a solo lobby.

Wow you must be a noob.

Or have zero self confidence and awareness.

I sell not one but TWO! Bunker vehicles in full 30 player lobbies by myself.

Grow a pair.

Personally I prefer not to risk it. Nothing against you for choosing to risk it, but do you really have to belittle other people for their choice of how to play the game?
