How do you guys NOT get burnt out?

The whole game is grinding for cash to buy stuff you really don't need.

Then you get in a pvp battle and spend all your cash on ammo and insurance..

I don't get it.

I do though. I just today got back after months away. I try to spice up my sessions and make money while PvP'ing by always running CEO missions. Having friends is also a huge help.

I let my Bunker build product each weekday afk style & sell each night, roll with a 5ish million income each week.

Then on the weekends when I actually play with friends in modes I enjoy, like Missions, Heists, Private Races, etc.

Got bored of the PvP modes in this game a long time ago, so I don't waste money in them anyway.

Updates are spaced out enough & I don't blow my money on things I don't want, so income isn't a concern regardless, I let the Bunker work just because.

You don't have to burn yourself out if you don't want to, there are ways to avoid hands on grinding.

I like racing lots in the game. I tend to focus on user created races more.

I've never focused on money and only bought vehicles that I can win races in. Never done a heist either. I'm sure rockstar love me

Don't treat it as a job, set realistic goals. That's for starters, of course. If you want to grind, go learn something: language, cooking or do sports. I used to play a lot of grindy activities when I was on the phone with my wife, we were living separately for a while. Won't do that now, absolutely not.

I do need a break sometimes, but R* always adds something I want to buy, which is almost always more vehicles.

I've been playing less than a year so I am not burned out. Yet.

I mix it up a lot though, doing things I enjoy like racing and flying around in my Akula helping people (or griefing them if they have it coming). I also do the AFK bunker stock thing so I have very good passive income to supplement my in game hobbies.

Is that all you do? Do you not have any imagination beyond sitting in some random ass lobby wasting your earnings in a "PvP" fight with a child?

Iv tried mostly everything...photo shoots, car meets, griefing, racing, grinding, adversary, tryhard hunting....im just waiting now for far cry 5, days gone and after that rdr2. Im pretty done with the game, especially when summer is coming round the corner, il be out more. But what mostly burnt me out of this game was the community.

I get burnt out every damn day. Pretty much every day there's something that makes me think to myself "I am so done with GTA".

And the next day when I'm sat in front of the TV wondering who the hell left Jeremy Kyle on, I think "well, I could be productive around the house... orrrrr... GTA".

So I drive around, do a couple of races, go play dress-up for a bit, move around some cars, drive some oldies that haven't seen the sun for a while, get demolished by a griefer, get the Akula and go griefer hunting, join someone's MC/CEO organisation and help them out for a bit. Get screwed over in some way by someone. And then a few hours later I am burnt out again.

The cycle repeats.

Got burnt out hard a few months ago, been playing sparingly since then. Doomsday heists brought me back for a short while but R*'s stubborn insistence on stupid forced public session content and the constant increase in pricing is just discouraging.

Also the bullsh*t dripfeed like f*ck me now we're gonna wait until bloody june to see some of these cars.

I might start playing again if the cheater bullsh*t on PC is dialed down a little bit for a few weeks. But, right now, it doesn't look like cheaters are going to stop spreading any time soon.

Having an active crew helps a lot, also if you don't like the game's systems then this game is not for you, just go to another.

^ That right there is what not to do if you want to enjoy the game (unless you're abusive or sadistic by nature).

Besides that, the game is so wide, it's up to you and your perspective to find new depths to it and ways to enjoy it, and you don't even have to look too hard (and I'm speaking as a friendless loner who plays by himself since the game came out, so you don't NEED friends or a crew, although I'm sure that multiplies the experience immensely)

I love the environment, the vehicles, the mechanics, there's always something to do. I often find myself TRYING to keep it generic and boring just so I can be productive while playing, last time I forgot to check myself I suddenly realized it's 4 a.m and Iv'e been drifting on foot in first person from one group of NPC's to another listening to their conversations and taking pictures for like 3 hours..

I do get burned out once in a while, I'll just play other games until I miss GTA again :p

Really wish there was another emmersive 1st person shooter with good driving, I'd try it in a heartbeat to see if it's any good then toss C* to the curb.

It's the journey that's fun, not the destination.

There's nothing fun about waiting for months and them to finally decide to flip their magical tunables switch so you can finally get that one car you want.

I've enjoyed GTAO for quite a while. But I can only look forward to single player games now, like cyberpunk, last of us 2, rdr 2... Those will be journeys.

These online "experiences" reveal themselves as the empty shells they really are increasingly quickly to me...

The day you started grinding for cash to buy stuff you really don't need you made a habit of ruining the game you paid real money to play.

This game is awesome if you just play it for fun, not for fake money.

The camel's back has broken. I can't remember the last time I logged in. Sometime around the Lazer being available to buy. Every once in a while I think about logging on again, I left behind a pretty nice money making operation and about six million bucks but I'm pretty jaded with the game. It is tired. They haven't expanded the game in any subjectively meaningful way. Everything is designed for the person who doesn't mind spending all day with randoms. I'm an introvert and find gaming communities, any gaming community, absolutely draining. I prefer the 2-4 player online multiplayer with a good group of close friends over the MMO/guiild thing.

I am burnt out. $250mil later, mostly squandered before anything that cool even existed in the game, the idea of earning 80 more is just hell. The game is almost designed to irritate me. If it had a monthly subscription there's no way I'd pay. Personally GTAO is a failed experiment. I'd much rather create a character for single player, maybe with a way for a couple friends to join a session, everything else I couldn't care less about. The lobbies, the wait times, the downtime between game modes, it's all absolute sh*t let's be real.

I don't even want to know how much time I've spent in GTAO, thousands upon thousands of hours, many AFK, but still I can't fault the game all that much. I certainly got my money's worth. But the love affair is over.

Coz in real life you can't do most of the things you do in GTAO

p.s. oh wait.. you actually could do alot of things in GTAO in real life.. if you don't mind going to prison!

on a serious note. i have a friend who just started and she's only level 8 with no money. But we have so much fun just racing around town and countryside. Everytime we play we hardly ever use any of my high end expensive facilities or toys but we always have fun just goofing around LS "creating our own fun". I guess that's what i'm trying to say.. play gta online anyway that is fun for you. If there is no way you can make it fun then gta isn't for you, simple as that.

What do you mean? I played on my Switch for a year before going back.

I was about to burn out again but I ran into other Filipinos, and it's just refreshing to play with low levels I can talk Filipino to.

I usually put on sun cream

Silly stuff aside, I only buy what I need and like. I've retired from PvP so I've saved a bit on ammo too.

Day one player and I am 50/50 on being burnt out.

Played solo pretty much 95% of the time

I mainly just do gun running, coke sales and have recently been doing contact missions for old times sake.

Some days I play for 10 minutes others up to an hour.

CBF grinding though

I don't grind, and I don't let myself get burned out. If I've got my fill of GTA, I don't keep playing - that's silly - I go and play something else or do other things. I've managed to keep myself interested and the game still often feels fresh to me, almost three years after the PC edition arrived. To choose to grind is also rather silly to me, since it's not fun, though I understand the reason it's designed as such. Rockstar retains players because players are after something - a new car, a level, a certain amount of cash - and Rockstar wants to make sure players are playing, and playing for hours on end.

You don't need to grind. I make most of my money when playing with friends casually, and sell one of the custom Sandking XLs that spawn at Larry's RVs if I happen to be in the area. When I'm working, too, I'll sometimes boot the game up simply to sell a Sandking. The rest of my time is spent enjoying the game's... gameplay. Driving, PvE, exploration of the open world... I try to have fun!

We do get burnt out. There are times I turn on the game for 15-20 minutes and I don't know what else to do or I don't feel like playing. I personally step back from the game and come back to it after a few days or a week or two.
