CEO Ghost hopping, is it a problem?

There are times where I fought a team who constantly switch ceo leader to have ghost organization with no cooldown (obviously wasting money this way) and starts griefing the lobby this way while doing the usual EWO as well. What do you guys think? Is this something Rockstar will fix down the line? (Doubt it)

While I just hop in a jet and take down any pursuing ghosted hydras/lasers one by one, it's problematic when I get attacked by multiple ghosted aircrafts at once :p

I don't think they're gonna change it.

Sure it's kinda annoying at times, but I tend to use it myself too so...

If its something that makes you loose money then its kinda obvious that R* wont do a thing about it.

Every time I see someone tries to ghost me I call a mugger and get in my Akula and disappear as well.

Or even better I just teleport back to my facility and call free mercenaries on them.

That makes them extra angry.

That behavior is rare, i think i saw it twice in my 2700 hours into this game.. just swap session and you are set.

Tryhards gonna try hard. Some players need every conceivable advantage known to man in order to get kills. Sucks to be them. :/

No, it's not a problem. If they're doing it to attack me and I stay in the session and allow it to continue then it could be a problem, but the bigger one would be my inability to change session because of my crying little ego.

If they play like that then they're not worth a second thought. F*ck em.

No, just simply leave the session.

Just leave, though it does piss me off that VIP work cooldown sticks if you swap whose the leader but THIS does NOT!

As a lone wolf that's been caught out more than enough times to know these guys can really hamper one's evening, or enhance it if that's what you're looking for.

Just the benefits of teamwork really. Crews work together, and if you are alone, or are in a crew that's too open, like IGN or other pap, then you're in trouble.

sh*t happens.

Easy solution for Xbox One...

Hold guide button for 5 seconds

Press up on the d-pad once

Press A

Problem solved.

Or just lag out, leave, beat them at their own game, cry, send a mugger, heist invite teleport, go passive... plenty of options if you don't mind disrupting your flow.

There's no glitch or exploit involved in using the feature in the way you described, and the try hards are willingly wasting their money on that, so don't count on a patch to fix that.

Your best bet is to leave the session, go passive or just warp to your safe house and wait until they all eventually have a cool down.

(Cool down for ghost is 12 minutes if I'm not mistaken)

OR if you want to push your luck, you can call a mugger on one of them so you can pinpoint their location, call in the mercs for distraction, and get in a jet and spray the general area.

Make sure to use your thermal vision goggles before getting in the jet(supposing that glitch is not patched)

Is this really a systemic problem? Or did you just get owned once in a lobby and now we have this lovely thread?

You can always track movement with the orbital cannon. Go ninja.

I almost never see this except from the tryhardiest players, and I fight in PvP a lot. So I don't think it's a massive problem. Most players can't be bothered to keep de- and re-orging. But I will say that if they felt like addressing it, they could simply tie the ghost org cooldown to each player instead of the org/CEO only. That way if you're in an org and still on your personal cooldown, the CEO can't start ghost again. And if you're still in cooldown it shouldn't let you join an org in ghost already - or orgs in ghost shouldn't be able to hire new associates, either way. Fairly simple fix. But the problem is rare.

If you are not that rich - don't waste money on Ghost yourself, you can start a contact misson lobby to outwait these 3 minutes.

Also you can go off-the-radar and get your Akula

Thruster (Jetpack) allows to use thermal vision, so you can hunt some players even in Ghost.

Far too many 'crews' out there that just couldn't organise a bonfire in a barn, lol.

That's far too much though needed. Genuinely. Even my crappy, average PvP skills have had the odd team against the ropes. Must say, very rewarding to do so too.

Yes, it's unbelievable that someone would hop sessions instead of hassling with a spawn-killing teenage dweeb. 4 and a half years!! So much time man, so much time.... :sarcasm:

If you are down to PVP that person go right ahead. I'm often finding myself doing crates or even selling, so I'm not going to spend my time killing some person in ghost. I will simply leave the session. If you're just screwing around, go deal with it then. I wouldn't risk losing millions because of some pleb using ghost organization.

Let me break this down real quick. If you ever worked in software, or even worked much WITH software, you should know what a workaround is. It's a way of getting around a bug and still accomplishing more or less what you want, although the process of the workaround is very likely more annoying and involves more steps than if the core functionality was just working as it should.

Having a workaround doesn't mean the bug is fixed. Until the bug is fixed, the problem is not solved (per the post I was replying to). You just have a way of dealing with it.

What is switching sessions in response to any annoying-ass thing players keep doing to you? It's just a crappy workaround. Not a meaningful solution, just a way to keep from wanting to snap your game disc in half. And yeah, 4 1/2 years is a long-ass time for people to still be making this dumb argument in defense of shoddy design flaws in the game. If you think something isn't a problem, surely you can mount a better defense of it than this.

Enh, its a perfectly legitimate tactic. The game is designed such that coordinating with others provides an advantage, why should this be any different?

Because a team of four people being permanently off radar while everyone else is on radar is totally OP and absolutely ridiculous in a PvP context..?

I don't blame them I'd kill to be OTR all the time. Just find a friend and do the same, it's not like OTR makes them invisible you just need to spot them the good old fashion way. Just back yourself into a nice tunnel or alley where you can see them coming and mine it up so you know when they're getting close... it's a thrill to use your nogen to win sometimes.

I hear some interesting tips from you guys (aside from the usual leave the session) I'll try to apply that while thinking of new strategies to deal with that situation.

Yes it's a very rare occurrence but my pride sometimes gets the better of me from leaving the session should they decide to grief me and I try to fight back despite the circumstances, or at least cause damage before I leave. Not to mention I enjoy pvp overall

We had a war with one of them which was them vs our crew over fort zancudo. Even when they ghosted and spawn a chernobog and going against us in jets, we still had the advantage and got a few of em in passive or suicide spam because we had better pilots. Though some of us left due to how annoying it is to fight them and things turn back in their favor due to that XD. Add to the fact that they also been using orbital cannons alot also contributed to them wasting alot more money against us than we did them lol

You're right, of course, but the other thing we've learned over 4 1/2 years is that it's either not gonna be fixed, or it'll be fixed and create a new glitch, or it'll be fixed and people will simply find another way to achieve the same result.

For something that has been around for a long time, and let's face it - it's a rarity at most - then changing session is the best answer.

While it's a reaction to something that shouldn't be happening, it's a reaction that does work.

I only tend to find it a problem when there's nowhere to find robust cover.

My ego won't let me leave the session until I'm up on kills with however many people I'm fighting, and that can go on for a long while. The only times I'll cut and run otherwise is when someone is waiting for me to do something or if I'm stuck spawning in the desert with only my clothes as cover, while they marksman dance in the hills around me.

That being said, Rockstar has never cared about balance in any respect, and they're not going to now. An ideal solution would be to have the cooldown timer carry over from whomever has just joined the organization, causing that individual to remain on radar or preventing the organization as a whole from using the ability.

Having a crew with just yourself as member and having infinite Ghost Org with no cooldown is the best thing you can do, f*ck them wasting time taking turns.
