DarthMaster09
How much do you think Animal A.I. has improved in Red Dead Redemption 2? Animals in Red Dead Redemption were mechanical and repetitive. They didn't have daily routines and would just move around and have no other animations. The new actions, characteristics and physiologies of animals I want in Red Dead Redemption 2: 1- Sit down, relax, sleep and clean themselves. 2- Hunt other animals and be hunted. 3- Different sizes, ages and genders. 4- Sickly animals like the anorexic horses in RDR. 5- Eat food, drink and poop. 6- Encounter different animals during different periods of the day such as bats and nighttime. 7- Pets such as dog companions, cats and different animals you can own for your ranch. You can breed, take care of and use your animals as defense. 8- Reptiles such as lizards, alligators and snakes that can poison you. 9- The ability to fish many different species of marine life and be able to mount your prized catches. 10- Many different insects such as fireflies, butterflies, ants, bees and beehives. Bees can sting you causing minor discomfort. Obviously I'm asking Rockstar Games for way too much as most of these headers won't even make it in the game. These are just some ideas that I would love to see and it would make the world that much more lively and immersive. What do you think? Safari
im sure they will push there limits with animals, remember animals are one main factor of the wild west as its set more in nature we should expect everything your requested. TheExclusiveMan
In the First trailer we saw a young buffalo, So I hope we see younger animals across all species, maybe you can find a birds nest and harvest the eggs. Maybe when hunting younger animals or females it will negatively impact the honor system (in GTA, it was shunned for hunting the doe in the trevor hunting missions/not worth time), this could be annoying but it would be interesting to see. Also more mythical creatures like the Jackalope. Potter145, Yelda and Safari
DexMacLeod
I'd like to see snakes that can actually move around. I can't remember the last time I played a game where the snakes weren't glued to their spot. It'd be cool if this time around they can give chase, flee, and hunt. xARMEDx
Op mentioned it already but I dont see why we wouldn't have a dog as a companion. Maybe we can train wolf pups we find in the wild. Edited March 23, 2018 by xARMEDx

Grizzy
Sounds like a SIM more than a R* open world title. lol TheExclusiveMan
Reno_
Absolutely adore these ideas. I'd love to have trophies of the animals you hunt in your ranch, house etc. I still cary around all my legendary animal pelts in RDR as a memory.
DarthMaster09
I really hope that we can take care of our horse by feeding, grooming and training it.
tsto
I really hope that we can take care of our horse by feeding, grooming and training it. Brother, this is fully confirmed already. All the other stuff you mentioned originally isn't but, they're all very valid ideas and most of them are quite realistically possible with the technology they're using in this game so I wouldn't doubt we see most of those elements implemented. Breeding on your ranch, that might come at a later date to RDR Online I'd bet to say.
joshua969
All great ideas. If they've been working on AI for 6 years, I can't see how some of that hasn't carried over to animals. If they make it possible to have a companion dog, that would make my day.
geordr
Hi there, 1st post... Since we're talking about animal variations what I would really like to see in this game is coating and marking variations on horses. In the first RDR all horses within the same breed were 100% identical. All quarterhorses were chestnuts with a facial white stripe and a front leg white sock, all American standardbreds were solid blacks, and so on... From watching closely the screens and the trailers I believe that we might have more horse variations this time around. Welcome After the second trailer I mentioned that in the thread Animal Spotting, too Now after the third trailer I strongly believe that there are no more just one color for each breed, but that there are several colors within a breed and also different markings on face and legs. I also have seen in the trailers two horses of the color Black Overo ... they have different spots on their coats ^^ That would be really cool, if the same color hardly appears twice ... but if you want a specific color, you could buy a horse with wanted color in a stable ...that should definitely be possible. I found the following colors until now (Maybe I missed some ^^) - black (lasso; 2. Trailer) - sorrel/chestnut (gang member, 1. Trailer) - bay/brown (Arthur´s horse 2. Trailer/Screenshots) - buckskin/dun (gang member, 1. Trailer/Sadie´s Horse Screenshots) - palomino (Arthur´s horse, Screenshots) - red roan (City; Screenshots) - blue roan/grullo (gang member, 1 Trailer) - cremello/white (Dutch´s horse) - gray (Sadies´s horse, Screenshots) - bay overo (Arthur´s horse, 2. Trailer) - black overo (Arthur´s horse, 3. Trailer) - gray with black spots/Appaloosa (Javier´s horse; 1. & 3. Trailer) - bay with white spots/Appaloosa (Arthur´s horse, Screenshots) Edited May 17, 2018 by Yelda geordr, Non Funkable Token and MVP

Another thing I noticed... Two bay horses that seem identical (same face pattern) but only one of them has white leg stocking. Hunterh-O
The possibilities with the wildlife are endless. I would like to see otters and snapping turtles in the waters, felines like the Mountain lion, Bobcat, and even the lynx. Antlered animals like pronghorns, mountain goats, and maybe caribou. Predators like badgers, wolverines, and the list goes on. joshua969
