I couldn't been cackling with evil laughter more if I wanted.

 

All those K/D warriors that keep killing themselves now probably had their K/Ds halved.

Yes but they can still use sticky bombs and rpgs.

Whenever I have regular rounds in my heavy sniper, I dont shoot at them. I find their sticky and shoot that.

 

Nothing better than preventing them from killing themselves by killing them and also wasting their ammo in the process.

Gonna venture a wild guess that youve killed a few people in your day.

 

Its gonna take a lot more than a few EWOs to negatively affect your KD

This is a positive change but it's really just the tip of the iceberg, and I doubt they will go any further. For one thing, it doesn't stop them from killing themselves with explosives, which a lot of them do more often than the menu option anyway. For another, some of these douchebags don't really care about k/d, or at least not nearly as much as they care about being able to send "1-0 Lzzzz" messages to their enemies.

 

As usual, Rockstar kind of does the right thing, but way too late and way too little. They're not serious about fixing the PvP problems in this game. I could overhaul it for the better with their dev team and a few afternoons of work... sigh.

People asked R* to kill the insurance, R* answered with lowered cap. People asked to remove K/D, R* implemented dubious half-measure instead. Looks like I'm joining Coleco after this update. It's not that I care about K/D or insurance at all, don't play public, but this update as for day one is a complete letdown for me.

I would just about guarantee you that the majority of GTA players do not want k/d removed. Just because some people REALLY want it doesn't mean they should do it. There are better ways of dealing with the problem.

Easy way out affects kd ratio

 

in other words.... they half-assed it

paying even if it's only 10k for defending yourself against a meme vehicle is stupid. But they r* still has to make that shark card money

tryhards will just ewo with explosive weapons. drop a sticky at your feet or rpg the ground

I have a tendency to kill EWO abusers until they add me as friends or otherwise leave, and of all the ones I've got on PSN presently, none of their ratios have been touched. If it works, it doesn't seem to do so retroactively.

I said it earlier and I'll say it again;

 

It won't change anything!

People are still gonna EWO from the menu.

 

Most people don't do it for the KD ratio, they do it so you don't get scores..

 

 

Yeah thanks, all the effort and complains of people being put on the wrong end and now it may be even harder to get to fix the real reason why most people do this sh*t.

You really pay that money if you blow someone's stupid flying bike?

 

Glad cheaters abused insurance system and they completely removed that thing on PC.

Either way it doesn't matter, it's not for the K/D, it's for the score.

That's the main reason I stopped playing the game. Not only was I getting utterly wrecked while trying to earn enough money to buy the new property that would allow me the ability to earn enough money to buy the vehicle that can maybe give me a fighting chance defending myself while trying to earn enough money to buy the vehicle I really want, but then I'd have to pay f*cking $20,000 FOR SELF DEFENSE.

 

Unbelievable bullsh*t. The way I see it, they could easily add a flag that triggers when the weapons on a vehicle are fired. If you destroy that vehicle before it fires its weapons, you pay insurance. If you destroy it after it fires its weapons, no insurance.

It's not affecting my K/D negatively and I've been EWOing for 5 minutes to test it.

Have you been testing it while in combat with another player? I'm wondering if it matters - like, if you kill someone and then EWO, maybe it takes away that kill.

Good point. I've just been EWOing in the middle of nowhere constantly, it hasn't added a single death to my stats. I have low kills and deaths on this account I'm doing it on so it'd have an effect by now.

 

Maybe if you EWO while being shot it counts as another player's kill?

Hm, while a step in the right direction, tryhards rarely use EWO, they either sticky or shoot a RPG at their feet.

While it's a much belated step in the right direction, how many, especially on console, are using the menu suicide during combat?

 

I'd like to see any death caused by your own weapons count against K/D unless you're in a heist or contact mission.

 

I don't even know my K/D, so if I accidentally RPG myself in free roam I couldn't give a sh*t about the -1 death in my stats.

I just tried it outside my facility mate on my own, glad that rockstar have done something about it but it won't change much tbh Okay, without much knowledge about this I think that is how it works. If someone lower someones health in any way and they ewo, the change will take affect. Bad explanation.. Lol

 

I don't think this will make much difference either, people will just adapt and change their play style instead
