That's from wikipedia, but I remember hearing about them repairing it somewhere else too, maybe it was later in the series.

 

Mustang is obviously a monocoque, so that "little" fender bender may do lot of damage to it's "frame", but pretty much all of those frame parts are being reproduced, so I just can't believe they wouldn't repair it by simply just replacing the bent metal.

A monocoque is not so simple to repair by replacing the bent metal, in this case you would have to replace the whole front of the car, which would also include parts of its main chassis.

(Hopefully the VIN number is not there, or they would be f*cked)

 

Even after that, the structural strenght and rigidy of the chassis is compromised, meaning the handling of the car is permanently affected, this would also means that you would never be able to properly align the headlights, grille and bumper again.

 

Whoever bought the car should be aware of these issues and knowing that the car will never be 100% of what it was again.

The rules in the United States for vintage cars are very relaxed. They could have fixed the head light and drove it around just fine, at least in many states. There is almost no such thing as "not road legal" for cars over 30 years old. Just gotta have all the lights working.

At least that is my experience. I drove my Mach 1 for quite some time without the front bumper, grill, and hood on it lol.

 

That's what I was thinking, a car that is not street legal... in USA!?

Where I come from, all the cars are treated in the same way, despite their age. This extremely problematic with Hot Rods. Of course there are lots of Hot Rods around here, but they are built by using all the possible loop holes in the law. As simple as engine swapping causes head ache. My 62 Fairlane had originally 221 V8 and it was barely working piece of sh*t, so I decided to swap 302 in there.

 

BUT! According to law; Car's frame, brakes, springs and control arms are designed to handle the power and weight of 221 V8, NOT 302 V8, so this swap would be unsafe to public roads.

However it is possible to do, if there are Fairlanes with this frame/suspension, that rolled from the factory with 302 (or larger, heavier, more powerful) engine and if I upgrade the brakes,etc. to match (or stronger) those Fairlanes, this swap could be legal. Luckily there are Fairlanes with same basic structure and with even larger engines than 302, so after lots of paper work and inspections, it's now "street legal"... on paper... it's in thousand pieces right now...

 

 

Be thankful you're not an 18 year old living in the UK... I'd love to do so many mods to my car, but insurance on my stock 85hp 1.2 hatchback WITH a black box is £1300... insurance here is a money-making joke. Something as simple as sticking a vinyl pinstripe on it would allow my insurance company to invalidate the policy if they wanted to. It's pretty pathetic.

The way the content is being released (the new races) and the way the cars are being delivered multiple at once, it leads us to believe the vehicles will release every other week. They are gonna skip a week each time.

 

This week we get no cars.

 

Next week we get the Caracara with Target Assualt races.

 

Week after we get no cars.

 

Then on April 17th we will get Ellie and that supercar.

 

 

Also, April 17th happens to be the Ford Mustangs birthday.

Are the stripes a livery or a secondary color option?

Livery and there are only black or white to choose from.

^ That's the same colour on my Bullitt-inspired Dominator (also use it on my Barris-style Hermes) - another one with Gasoline Green pearlescent, but the base coat is just Dark Green instead of anything more fancy.

Well at least there's a new update for GT Sport coming this week, and it will bring the M3 E30 to the GT series for the first time, that's gonna keep me busy too.

Now I'm not looking forward to the Ellie as much anymore. Why couldn't they have used the default high resolution V8 model they used in the lowriders and such? Everything else about this car is great, but leave it to R* to half-ass one crucial part. There's absolutely no excuse for them not to use the better engine models that exist in the game.

 

And R* logic. The Dominator(based on a relatively new Mustang) is carbureted, but the Ellie(based on a classic Mustang) isn't.

This is just weird.. what goes on in their minds/places of work? What conversations do they have? Do they just do this sh*t completely on purpose? I know there's supposed to be a certain amount of irony/spoofism going on but I just can't find reasons for their decisions, so many... So many things that make no financial sense from their point of view, or sense in any way at all to anyone. It's not about being unrealistic and expecting things we can't have, there's so much we can or could of had,and there are so many things that limit the scope of our cars,that ultimately limits the amount of money I need to spend,they are actually doing me favours of some sort by adding sh*t stuff and no space, I could be spending sooooo much more, as would other collectors.

Further more I think they may be alienating quite a few people(obvs not a prob to them), long standing fans,car guys and GTA guys, they put out the odd good thing and ruin the GTA world more with each thing they add that is half arsed or completely stupid to start with. Fk, they only need to talk to some actual car guys to get somethings right,seen as they can't manage to get basics right in this day and age of internet.
