Anyone else like to get people arrested?

One of my favorite things to do is to start a fight with someone and then run towards a cop. It's so entertaining watching them throw a punch only for them to put their hands up in surrender when the cops draw their guns, and make the walk of shame back to the car. Sometimes, I even like to follow the car around.

 

Gang members are the best since all you have to do is bump into them. Plus, whenever I get a gang member arrested, I feel like I'm helping the community with each gang banger off the street.

 

The cops in GTA V and GTA Online don't seem to arrest people and seem to have more of a shoot first mentality. Maybe they do, but I've never seen it. This is one of those little things that makes GTA IV still oh so engaging.

Best part is sucker punching the cop in the back of the head as the guy you were just fighting thanks you and runs off.

I like kicking taxis and getting the drivers arrested when they get out to fight.

Liberty City is a more dangerous city than Los Santos. Everyone in that town has concealed weapons and stolen credit cards.

Oh hell yeah, provoking peds and then leading them to a cop so they get arrested is a fun pastime. I particularly like to do it with gang members as they usually have the best dialogue (plus sometimes when cops point a gun to arrest them they pull out a gun or melee weapon and get in a fight to the death with the cop instead so it mixes things up), or to try unusual ones like the street vendors, random characters (if you disturb them before going to meet them some will fight you) or Mohammed, but anyone who'll fight is good. Then wait for them to get put in the back of the cop car and jack it and take them hostage on a long drive. Loads of peds have unique scared begging to be let out dialogue for this situation which is cool. Then let them out and they'll continue fighting you, so you can knock them out, make them get arrested again, or get them fighting people in another part of town to finish them off. Or bail out of the car and give them a drowning or explosion death.

 

And the best thing is sometimes if the guy runs away from the arrest and you trip them up the cop will thank you for helping . Wish you could give them a punch like with the good citizen bonus in VC but still a cool detail.

Yes, and then sometimes I'd steal the cop car they just got into and take them for a ride through Alderney. Usually to one of the abandoned factories where they too get abandoned and left for dead. But it's always funny to get the taxi drivers all riled up and arrested.

Lol yes !! I thought it was only me who enjoyed I get so much joy out doing this what I do to make it funnier for me is when they get arrested I go by their side of the window and just stare at them pulling out my phone and snapping pictures until the cops drive off

You and your cameraman are doing good work, and you only looked a little bit gay dancing with those ladies at the Community Center. 

 

 

 

I like getting NPCs busted as well. Especially if I need a car and can't jack one because the cops are nearby. Stand in traffic (or jump on top of a car), wait for someone to get so annoyed he leaves his vehicle to take a swing at me, then Grandly Thief his Auto once the police haul him away.

This is one of the things that makes GTA IV standout for me compared to other GTA games. It was the first GTA to really attempt a more balanced justice system where the police A.I would arrest other NPCs and not just the player.

 

But yeah it's something I like to do when just messing around. It's satisfying getting an NPC to start attacking you and watching any cops near by arrest them and place them in their cars. Never gets old.

This also reminds me that unlike in other GTA games if you get a wanted level but NPCs are also shooting/committing crimes, the police don't drop everything and all only go after you because of the wanted level, they divide their attention and continue fighting the NPCs too. Means you can have epic three way shootouts with gangs AND police and that everything isn't over and purely a police shootout now as soon as you get that wanted level. And sometimes you can escape a wanted level more easily because the cops are tied up fighting other people. 

 

Even found a good use for it in a mission the other day. I found that The Snow Storm is actually easier if instead of clearing everyone out before picking up the drugs, you go round the back and climb the ladder and walk across the beams straight to the room with the drugs, only killing a couple of enemies. Because then when you pick up the drugs and NOOSE storms the place most of them and the enemies are busy shooting at each other instead of you and you can run past them killing and getting shot less and escape more easily. 

 

Because cops interact with and pay attention to NPCs in these ways it helps create a feeling that this is a real city with real people in it and they're not all just extras in your story with everything revolving around you.
