What's with these banned for no reason topics?

Hello everyone!

Lately I see on Rockstar's forum a lot of banned for no reason topics and have some questions about them. Are these people banned cheaters, who now tries to damage Rockstar's reputation, because they are too angry that Rockstar didn't allowed them to cheat, or their anti-cheat system really is that bad and instead of cheaters it bans innocent people?! Just wish to hear your opinions about this.

Then I hear that people can be banned for forcing a solo public session. That makes me ask can I be banned for turning off and back on my router so that I could have a public solo session?!

Nowdays you can get banned for literally anything. It's a real gambling playing this game.

Some are individuals whom have cheated at some point & finally were punished for it, others (fewer) were wrongly-fully targeted by the severely flawed anti-cheat systems.

When it comes to topics made about the subject, it's a total crapshoot on knowing if the person is legit or not, one way or another.

As for bans for "Forced Public Solo Sessions", I have not heard of this officially.

Given I have an X1X, I don't bother with router disconnections anyway now, I just NAT test.

If there are bans for "solo'n" out sessions, I know alot of players that should be banned well before now.

There have been some pretty-much-confirmed reports of unjustified banning on PC, where cheating and modding is rampant, so the most likely reason is that their detection system is jacked up trying to deal with the problem. For those reasons I would personally avoid this game on that platform. There are also almost certainly lots of people crying about a ban they absolutely DID deserve; they're either trying to pull a fast one and get un-banned by being one person out of many professing their innocence, or they really are so naive as to not understand the terms of service.

If you don't play on PC, I don't think you have much cause for concern. Last gen consoles are basically unmonitored, current gen close to the same since there are no real modding tools for them. Even blatant misbehavior will not usually get you banned - there are other systems instead (bad sport for being reported by players, severe restrictions on car sales if they catch you duping, etc.). I have not heard of doing "solo public" techniques and getting banned for it.

So what happens if clean player is banned? Rockstar won't fix it? Hmm that stinks if people can be banned for literally anything, especially if they don't fix false bans.

I would be in that list too, because I do solo public sessions sometimes. So far not banned.

^ Usually not.

If you opt for the PC version of this game, you're accepting the all the bs cheating of players & overused punishment systems by R*.

Rockstar's official, stated policy is to not listen to appeals regarding bans. Basically they say their system is accurate and if you got banned, you did something to deserve it. There are enough claims to the contrary from widely-respected players that I smell a rat, though.

If you did get banned without justification (at least in your assessment), I would still submit a ticket and fight it. What can you lose? If you were just forcing solo public sessions but nothing else, I would for sure press the issue. You'd be surprised what tech support people will sometimes do if they just want to get you off their ass.

I do play on PC and modders are the main reason why I do solo public sessions, but lately I feel like Rockstar doesn't care about customers, who play on PC, only about customers, who plays on newest consoles they care. Instead of making everything available also in private session they force PC gamers to go in public session where cheaters are, just because they want to do CEO missions or to look for ways how to have a solo public session, which even then with all strict NAT isn't a guarantee that some cheater, who in 3 seconds can destroy all your progress with CEO missions, won't join. In the mean time people on PS4 and Xbox One, as I hear, have nice public sessions without cheaters.

I'm not banned, but I have more reasons to not buy GTA 6, if that will come out, than reasons why I should buy it.

I wouldn't say consoles are cheater free - but what happens on console is just a drop in the ocean compared to what happens on PC.

The worst that can really happen is that someone can do a glitch to go off the radar, invisible, in god mode and spawn-kill you.

As for why people get banned for no reason, there really is only one answer: Because Rockstar says so.

So basically if I get falsely banned then it's something like sucks to be you and there's no hope that this will be fixed, right?!

Pretty much. Like I said, you can submit a ticket and bother them, but their first response is going to be that they can't un-ban you and will probably just close the ticket. If it makes you feel better, I doubt that their detection system is banning anyone for solo public session creation. It's more likely you'll get banned for no reason whatsoever. So cheer up!

Damn! Well for anyone, who was banned falsely I would suggest to stop buying their games instead of going to their forum and complain about that there, because, as much as I see, it's pointless to complain there about false ban or sometimes this is even an entertainment for rude people.

This is the only way I know how to make them change their attitude. Complaining on forum won't make the difference. Just saying.

Although I am not banned, at least not yet anyway  , I think that GTA V will be the last Rockstar Games product I've bought. Fact that they can't find solution for modder, cheater and hacker issue has pissed me off very much. Any other company I know can but they can't?! Either they are lazy, idiots or greed has darkened their minds. Also fact that there's no guarantee that false ban will be fixed doesn't do any justice.

I wouldn't be surprised much if they don't fix false bans, but it's still hard for me to believe they don't do that. I doubt they are so stupid and don't understand that earning customer trust is a way how to increase income, banning innocent people only repulses customers.

Really stinks that one day they can ban clean player just like that!

Five M? Is that a mod?

Yes, in next gen console you won't find a boat in your heist room or a vigilane in your dinner table because you make a cheater angry by putting a bounty on his head.

This stinks that only next gen consoles are free from cheaters. I'm sure PC gamers could be free from them too, if someone would actually want to make it sure cheaters can't cheat like that.

I have another question after I saw today very rude behavior on Rockstar's forum. Do they ban people in game if they are using insults on forum?

No, if you are banned that's it. Doesn't matter if the auto ban was correct or not these days that is final and it's all over.

I do feel highlighting an issue R* are silent over on any forum is a good thing more should do if the situation arises.

Also, aside the odd remaster, they haven't released anything new yet so those that intend to take this action haven't had a chance to vote with their wallets like this.

(Not saying it'll work/help or not, nor that its right for R* to ignore those that are genuine. But awareness helps too).

Some may remember a few months back I served a sentence in BS - after my sentence I was put back in normal lobbies. I totally behaved and done nothing wrong and then when I next logged on I was in BS (sentence - 6 MONTHS!) After about 20 emails back and forth between me and R* support I eventually got put back in normal lobbies after around a week as it was unjustified. If you legit should not be there hound them and they will eventually break as long as it is genuine you just have to be patient.

Personally I think the whole BS system whould be scrapped along with EWO, off radar, ghost org and insurance costs but that is for another subject

Five M? Is that a mod?

Modified dedicated servers for PC only. Lots of reading up here: https://fivem.net/

You need to own a legit copy of the game (and usually have the ability to open the Steam client to get a 'ticket'). I believe you can run FiveM even if your online account is banned / suspended.

It's not supported by Rockstar / T2, but not against their terms of use either as anything you do on a FiveM server has no interaction with your official online character / progress.

---

Back on topic, I'd be pretty ticked-off if I received a reset / ban, but there wouldn't be any point crying about it on R* support or where-ever. Just accept it, and either suck it up or move on.

Don't trust anyone.

Especially, people who claimed that they were "banned for no reason". No cheater would publicly admit that he is cheating. That also means, you shouldn't trust R* as well.

Solo public session banning is a myth, and it's not confirmed. People like to misinterpret things.

You can get in a fishy situation on PC with moneybags dropped on your head, RP injections or other "gifts" from another player. The best practice is to send a support ticket explaning the situation right away. Do it BEFORE you get banned. It's to late to send any requests after the ban.

Of course nothing saves you from the "anti-cheat" module if it just decides you deserve a reset/ban for too much "modded" money since it does not matter how much if any modded money you actually had. So spreading the word is basically all you can do in order to save anybody willing to read it from wasting any more money on this broken mess.

I'm one of those people affected by this recent ban. I've played legit from the PS3 ,move to PS4 ,and join my friends in PC just pass the 1000hrs playtime in January. I play regularly til the first of March then there is a warning when I start the game, it said that I was banned for 30 days and they reset my character (lv.371). Here's the pic when I hit 1000hrs

I've send 5 tickets and get to speak with real person, they said they can't manually lift a ban and I can't do anything about it. So basically if you're banned you can't do sh*t about it and they won't even tell the reason that trigger the ban. Oh and about the progress they won't listen either but you get to keep your shark cards funds (lol).

I'm fine with the break but erasing all my progress? that's too much to handle.

^^ Basically, the only thing R* is accomplishing in banning any truly innocent players without any chance of appeal is... creating more players willing to buy modded accounts and even "mod" menus just to get back in the game (if that desire is even still intact).

And I can't say I blame any player caught in that situation for doing so.

I'm a legit player, and hope to remain that way as long as possible... but if I ever get banned, I WILL go rogue in this game, using whatever tools I can find to get back at both R* and cheaters in general.

Mark my words.

Haven't noticed moneybag drops and other "gifts" from another player. But what worries me is that some people have said it's possible to receive these "gifts" in the way you won't even notice.

Now I'm more than sure that GTA 6, if that one will ever come out, won't be in my game library, because this is stupid that innocent people are banned and all their progress are erased. Cheaters deserves that, not innocent people.

Yeah, that stinks. I really understand when people make mistakes, but leaving customers without any guarantee that their account in case of false ban will be restored is something where Rockstar went too far, because this doesn't increase customer trust, more like scares them away. I know some people, who really feels like that because of this ban policy. I won't blame you and won't stop you from doing so. If I will be banned and they won't care that I've never cheated and always play honesty, then, at first, I will be more than glad I didn't bought their fish cards and then I won't buy their next games, which will come out.

Since it's so obvious they care about money more than they care about their customers then, I think, the only way how to make them change their attitude is to stop buying their games and fish cards.

You're safe, your "router issues" aren't any different from Rockstars own server issues. I get disconnected daily from either Playstation Network, Rockstar Games or trash ass Xfinity. It happens.
