What is your strategy when outnumbered?

I love these types of fights but usually get rekt simply because I am being shot at, strafed from above and blown up from all angles. It's satisfying getting a quick kill before I die and they say "lol you suck, quit the game" while it's 1v8. I think it helps my awareness and quickscope kills or rping a jet out of sky.

What do you all do?

Cackling Jack

Well I end up in those situations alot. If I see 4 or 6 ppl coming at me "lets dance mofos" ill use every dirty tactic I know against them. They are the best fights imo. Once you get better at them you can handle it better. Simple. Try hards are known for gaint gang bangs.

1: heist jump, 2: Get the fully loaded ruiner and ghost org.. and an Akula and a lazer and an insurgent full of stickies until I've killed everyone. I have no concern about fighting the dirtiest all all tactics when I'm outnumbered, I play like that even 1-1 :p

f*cking run

Or just passive.

For me, if its a ground battle i go off radar, call in Khanjali and f*ck sh*t up. Surprise rape. And if one of them gets a Khanjali and i can't prevent him from going in and i already got damage going on. I either go passive or teleport away.

If its an air battle, i abuse off radar-passive-teleport to desert facility or do whatever it takes. Not going to be an idiot. If i clearly am against a squat of jets, i know i'm no match. Can't go pro-dogfight in a game like this. You can only win in dogfights against more then one enemie if said enemies are all noobs.

Yeah, if you find yourself outmanned that's bad. But if you are sure that you're outskilled, then just run or find allies.

I hear you! I actually like being outnumbered up to a point, I'll spam off radar and ghost org and just get nasty about it. I do think it's funny when these guys send hate mail about my tactics - it's like, dude, there are four of you and one of me. I'm doing what I have to do.

I seldom go negative against anyone, even when it's 3 or 4 on 1. But once in a while I'll find the wrong 3 or 4, players who get just as nasty and play just as well. Those battles are brutal and frustrating. You know you have to start looking for an escape hatch when four guys are in separate orgs, using ghost org at different times just so you never know where some of them are.

Mate I can't play this game without getting hate messages, like literally it happens every single time I log in. I never message anyone and yet I get all this love.. People get sooo angry! it's only a game geesus :! Also I occasionally find the same kind of smart players, sometimes it takes 3 hours to get a kill either way :0

Not long ago I went into a lobby and just tried my best dirty tactics to kill everyone in the lobby, in the end there was one guy left and I hadn't killed him or even seen him around but eventually I saw him stalking me in an Akula. It took many many hours of intense stalking to kill him I think we ended up 1-1 :) it was a memorable battle.

GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

I had that with an organization the other day. It was on the beach and they were all scattered and every time I respawned seconds later 1 of them would snipe me. I started a MC called my Oppressor and got the hell out of there and kept sending muggers as often as I could.

You can copypaste the replies from What is your strategy against Dive Bombers? they will be pretty much fit this this situation as well.

Control the distance and don't let them use your weak spots.

All of that!

Emmm... Nutduster, I thought you are against exploting the game mechanics, don't you?

Using passive to win fights is an exploit of a mechanic meant to remove yourself from PvP play entirely. Same thing with wall breaches, god mode glitches, teleporting back to your apartment via heist invites, or any of that sh*t.

Also, exploting the VIP mission vehicle for solving a PvP problem is still an exploit.

Edited my reply to elfoam, in retrospect "all of that" was poor wording. I don't endorse all the individual tactics, I just agree with the general sentiment. I was generally talking about his strategies of fighting multiple people and diving deep into the bag of tricks.

I don't use the teleport exploit myself. Personally I just use OTR and ghost as often as necessary if several guys are coming after me at once. And I'll counter their vehicles in whatever way I have to. Staying ahead of the curve is the real game when you're outnumbered; if I can't do that I'll even be the kind of little sh*t that drives underground and throws prox mines around behind me, or go into the construction site and snipe. Do what is necessary to eliminate their numeric advantage.

re: the Fully Loaded Ruiner - I don't really consider that an exploit. You may beg to differ, but it's explicitly a PvP tool, the only part that's even kind of exploitative is that you might not be chasing the objective. And they are notified what you are doing, and can still kill you, even (if they're smart they'll just stop using vehicles while you're in it, or only go after you while off radar.) Personally I will sometimes run Fully Loaded during PvP battles but I still go after the limos, and if my enemies come after me at the same time, that's just a happy bonus. (I can't start a VIP job and just not do it... it bothers me too much.) I've done this a number of times when someone was getting a jet because they were mad at me, and it's always funny to shoot them down, then blithely do the rest of the job while they fume.

I'll also admit to having a bias against exploits depending on their effectiveness in PvP. If you're turning on VIP work to avoid bad sport points, I don't really care; that doesn't help you kill someone. If you're exploiting passive, teleporting around the map a lot, spamming EWO, or things along those lines, I'm pretty judgmental. And especially so if you get one cheap kill, then start doing one or more exploits to avoid being killed yourself while sending messages ("1-0 Lzzzz"). Give me a break. If you can't beat someone without resorting to cheating, you really should not open your mouth.

When outnumbered and there is no chance to - at least percental keeping up - I go passive, order my car with the most annoying horn and follow them until doom. Surely its a griefercrew in that case which has to be annoyed. Here and there I take time by the forelock, get out of passive and make an easy kill while they get on their next target.

tbh, in most cases I'm outnumbered in an 1vs1. I kinda have a talent to attract the tryhards while in a public lobby (must be level based I guess). In that case, I congratulate them and move on with my own stuff. PvP is dull to me, but still I can't resist here and there. :D

Are they tryhards? If so, I passive and block them all before leaving so they can't follow/message me.

If not, I'll fight back. I always kill more than I die, they usually back off after 20 kills

Give it my best. I don't look to cheats/exploits myself, so if they are an issue in fights/battles, it's not worth my time. I don't care if I lose, but want a fair chance, you know?. Sucker punches and all that crap, pass.

Otherwise, have a go and see what happens. Often just a load of bollocks. Many times had my arse kicked. But when I do pinch a 'win' and folk leave/hide. Happy days.

Whatever anyone says to that, can't be worse than knowing your team just got wiped out by little old me, lol.

My PvP might not be the best, but after this long, I know my strengths and this game, lol. We'll see.

Aggregate Demand

Close Combat

Weapons: RPG, Combat MG MKII.

Tactics: Combat roll, stay away from the corners of buildings, be alert to your surroundings.

Distance Combat

Weapons: RPG, Heavy Sniper MKII (thermal, explosive rounds), Marksman rifle

Tactics: Move around, be aware of your surroundings, try to limit your surroundings to 180 degrees in front of you (360 degree surroundings open you up to being killed from behind by spawning players).

Off the Radar and Ghost Organization

Weapons: Heavy Sniper MKII (thermal, explosive rounds)

Tactics: Put yourself in an advantageous position. Spawn a Buzzard or an Oppressor and get to a rooftop or an elevated position. The Heavy Sniper MKII with the thermal scope is great for reconnaissance for two reasons: to observe heat signatures in potential targets, and to listen to unusual movements within the area. Listen out for car alarms, scared pedestrians, heavy foot movements, helicopter rotors and weaponized vehicles. Don't stay near the edge of a rooftop or otherwise visible vantage points for long. Periodically assess patterns, movements and sounds and use good judgement before attempting to engage.

Outnumbered isn't an issue usually. I fight, I stand my ground. Sometimes I lose, sometimes I win, I always refuse to use dirty tactics - hell I don't even use BST, ghost or OTR. When done I will go passive, teleport away or swap sessions.

This is just how I like it. I run around like a madman, often in ghost and OTR.

f*ck 'em, they want to number up, I'll go guerilla warfare. Getting them bunched up whilst you're in ghost then spanking them all with the APC is funny. Or using the Thruster to get to a vantage point then explosive sniping them. Anything. Anything and everything.

Except passive.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. (I've got a couple other no-nos, but the basic point remains: if you're outnumbered, you gotta get your hands dirty to win.)

Happy Hunter

Well the first resort is obviously to use an attack vehicle. If too many of them also have vehicles, or I'm just not feeling in my element and get taken out - I guess hiding underground and using tricks and traps is an option.

Generally though, fighting on foot is a big no if you're outnumbered. Use a vehicle if you can. That's what they're there for in my opinion.

If you're massively outnumbered, they're using vehicles - and you just can't beat them with the sheer firepower of a Hunter or jet/tank/etc. you could try an Akula. You can fly around off radar for long periods of time. Eventually they'll get bored of being in jets, crash or exit - when one of them's on their own or splintered off in a smaller sub-group, you have an opportunity to strike. When they all get p*ssed off and grab jets again, off you go into stealth mode.

If they're "1-0" types then all you need is one kill up on their count, then you can leave the session and taunt them (assuming that session is too much and no longer fun to be in).

Often I'll just change session.

But if I'm not doing anything else I'll go OTR, call in PV jet, grab a street car, register as a CEO, activate ghost org, start headhunter, have some fun. I'll throw in bounties, muggers and mercs for good measure too.

I'll go passive make my guy smoke a cigarette as their rockets fly through me, and mock them via a quick "lol ur real cool" text.

Or I'll leave the session. I'm not here to get gangbanged, nor do I enjoy it.

For those concerned about heist jumping, you always do that after you do ghost org, for all anyone knows you just went for a walk. You can even tell yourself that, imagine it.. it works

Combat MG mk2, heavy sniper mk2, minigun, khanjali, akula,

Most times running around like a mad man, shooting my heavy sniper left and right is enough to get rid of them. The khanjali and the akula only get pulled out when they pull out their vehicles.
