On Call - How do you join/start the job?

So I like to join races and things on the quickjob on the phone (which puts you on call) except when I'm the first one in and the host. I can't find where I join the lobby or start the job from.

When you're an on call host, how do you join the player list or start the job? If you're just on call, is there a way to join the job to see if the host is on call?

iirc there is no chance for you. I know that from starting golf f.e.. It won't start until it's completly filled. So I switched to a different strategy: Drive to the golf club (in your case choose a preffered race through menu) -> invite from there -> start at the point/player count your fine with.

 

Could be different by races, but I doubt it.

You can't. Just have to wait for the job to get filled up or search for another job.

When you are host on call, you will be direct into lobby only when it will be full of players or when minimum amount of players joined and matchmaking time run out. Auto invite turns on automatically, but you can't change settings and restrictions when on call until you will join into lobby. Note, unlike original heists you can't join into lobby manually from the phone.

Its a shame, There is still no Lobby functionwhich allows a group to Join a Public Match together without any issues like: the Lobby is Full, the Match already Starts etc.

It has and it works - at this conditions invite shows closed in phone. The problem here you can join a lobby too late before it closed and end up in clouds because it's matter of seconds.

This is exactly what I mean! Its everything but Smooth. Its Even hard to join a Server with one friend, i imagine an impossibility with more than 4.

When on call, and you end up host too, It'll not start until 1 minute after someone joins that job.

 

It works the same as if you are on the host screen. No one joins, it'll remain open forever, lol. Once one joins, as you are on call and can't extend the time, you have 1 minute.

 

Bit sh*t really. I usually just look for another, especially for races. one on one's are fun with friends 'on par' but that's about it, lol.

Even shows up in the lobby as On-Call Host

To be fair, quite rare, IMO. More something I see looking for rarer played activities like sports and such.

 

Shame.

 

Errors and internet connection can hamper too. Early days, I'd join on call when on wifi. Join 2 or 3 and awaiting more for the host to start. Then ping, I got split off, now on call as host, lol.

Yes, absolutely PS3 experience. When turn on job searches back there, at the middle of free roam mambo, you forgeting about being on call and then bam you in a full lobby, hosting, 5 seconds left before the launch. Happened a lot.

 

Bonus info, for all old gen. activities if you can't find a job for more than 5 min or no one joining yours - game will ask host or join random job.

Thanks for the info guys. It's too bad it doesn't work properly. I do use the start menu to start jobs usually but the phone quick job is more specific; you can choose regular, stunt, or transform races for example.

Well, if it ever does happen, quit. The job wont start quickly, if at all.

Its a lot easier to start them from the Job Menu then invite from there if you plan on playing with others.

 

Matchmaking is still bummed, placing players into jobs that weren't selected or even the odd gang attack which technically doesn't even have a lobby screen.

 

The other day out of the blue I decided to do a parachuting job, ended up in Hunt the Beast. Funny looking parachute indeed
