You guys are entitled to your opinion but I really don't understand why you want just 1 character considering we all know by now that there wont be any DLC if Online takes off again like it did with V, and I'd rather not wait another 10 years of my life to finally get to play as somebody else.

I think 2 would be nice.

I think it would be better if the two characters don't even know each other (personally) and only see each other a few times during the story and when they meet outside the story, it could spark some interesting dialogue like them being bothered seeing each other.

Ideally just 1,maybe 2.3 only if we get over 100 story missions which would develop each of the protagonists well.

I actually liked the having hte 3 characters in GTA V. made the game feel longer, and more varied. Also it's more fun to do a variety of different things following different people's lives.

You are probably going to play with your own single protagonist in GTA VI's online already, let single player benefit from beauty of multiple protagonists.

GTA is not Saints Row, so hopefully they don't push a tranny protagonist before a female protagonist.

To be honest one properly written will be sufficient. There is no reason to put three of them if their combined character creation is less than this of random radio caller.

Your comment has nothing to do with mine. I'm talking about Rockstar making a good business move in having something the GTA community who support both single protagonist like in the series past, or multiple characters like we just had in V.

 

I too want a decent female character story.

Next GTA should definitely, in my opinion, return to a single protagonist - as it has always been. I've said in the past that GTA V having three protagonists instead of the one weakened the writing and character development of all three.

One protagonist would lend itself to a more story focused GTA. GTA:V's three protags diluted things a bit and left the story feeling muddled and lacking somehow.

 

Of course, that's not to say that GTA:VI couldn't feature multiple protagonists with a much, much better story. But, on balance, going by past GTA's a single hero usually leads to a much better tale.

I think having Two protagonists would be refreshing.

I imagine a storyline similar to Vice City Stories. Just two guys taking control over the city, mission where you have to quickly switch between two characters.

When you think about it movies and tv shows use two main characters all the time for a reason -It works rly well for storytelling.

Maybe they could add a third protagonist who joins later on?


My pitch would be:

- GTA VI-ce city
- We start the game with old Tommy Vercetti and his sons
- We do couple missions with all of them, we have time to get to know them better.
- Game feels like something between Scarface and Godfather
- Tommy gets shot by a rival gang, falls down to a river, everyone things he's dead
- Vercetti boys are on a revenge quest, taking back the city and all that
- at the end of the game it turns out that Tommy survived (he learned how to swim?) and he shows up as a mcguffin to save the day

That way we can play as Tommy Vercetti after finishing the storymode.

You make a great point there dude.

The reason many people praise VC, SA and IV's stories over V's story is because they solely focused on one protagonist rather than three.

The story of V was weak IMPO as R* didn't know what to do with Franklin half the time and the antagonists were very, very, very badly developed.

Rockstar can write one protagonist well. Three? Not so much. (and I'm not counting IV's episodes because those are actually mini-GTA games, not part of IV's story). I don't wanna sit around and watch them try to do three protagonists better when they could just go with the tired and true method of one protagonist.

Since the majority of gta 5 gamers favorite Trevor Phillips from the 3 protagonist and he was the only actor from the 3 to land multiple TV spots, most notable The Walking Dead.

This is why I'll suggest a 2nd female protagonist, to keep our male protagonist straight only and do a complicated love story between them.

It can, but it may not happen due to GTA not being Saints Row.
