What is your strategy against Dive Bombers?

When the jetgriefer and heli dipper get on my case I type "halp pretty plox with sugar on topz!" into the chat and usually someone else in the session comes and shot them down as they dive for me and we then aid in covering each others dead angle. Because nobody likes a hydratroll or any of their subspecies, not even their mothers, if their mothers play GTA and happen to be in sess they will help ground them too.

 

An important thing to remember is that If you spy a hydra on the landing pad you must not destroy it. Instead pop off them vertical rudders and watch in great joy as it flies away in a confused wiggly line.

Normally it`s enough to just go under a bridge or into a tunnel i mean if they can`t reach you there is no divebombing. Or walking around medium sized houses is enough too. If they are not really good pilots they mostly kill themselves anyway. If your stranded in the middle of nowhere without any cover just EWO or use passive mode.

 

Hunter`s with Gunner are much more annoying there is so pretty much nothing you can do, except EWO and passive mode.

Most pilots can't pull off a good dive bomb but those few that can are very hard to beat without going passive.

 

Usually hiding under a bridge or using a building for cover can work long enough to get an explosive resistant car for a getaway. Once you are moving it is much harder for any pilot to dive bomb you and they will be forced to level out to get a shot at you.

 

Lately my favorite move is to get in the Stromberg and drive backwards on a straight road. Most pilots can't see you are going backwards until it is too late and both of you will get hit but the Stromberg survives the blast. This same trick works even better against Deluxos and Oppressors.
