No amount of nerfing is going to solve the problem with players using weaponised personal vehicle to grief others, reason being the issue is the players and not the vehicle.

To effectively curb the abuse, the players driving those vehicles need to feel the pain... in their pockets. Fortunately a system already exists to do this: Insurance.

Love it or hate it, insurance serves as good deterrent against antisocial behavior. The higher the insurance cost the less likely someone is to blow up the vehicle; but don't worry I'm not about to propose ridiculously high insurance costs, instead I'd like to propose that for weaponised personal vehicles alone, the insurance should be paid by the driver of that weaponised vehicle and not the player who destroyed it. Blow them up once, not a big deal, but do it again, and again, and again and they'll start to feel the pinch and change tactics (maybe).

May not solve all the problems but I think it's a step in the right direction. Someone defending themselves shouldn't have to pay for the attackers vehicle.

This has been mentioned a couple times, burred in other topics. I'm curious to know what you all think specifically on an in-game monetary penalty for griefing other players.

EDIT:

A "Nobody should pay insurance" option was intentionally omitted from this poll. Insurance is supposed to make people stop and think. Without repercussions, conflicts can escalate out of control.

Just get a weaponized vehicle you too and stop crying. Or go play Sims. LS has become a battlefield. Just assume it. XD

Do you remember when ppl on Inferno going backwards was like a cheat? Now this doesn't happens anymore XD

They just needs to remove insurance from weaponozed and meme vehicles. Griefer twat trying to wipe you out with the deluxo? No problem, just waste him, no need to pay 20k. Your opressor has drowned when you're wanted to move it to your yacht to impress guests? No stupid unfair 20k bills!

Just remove the insurance and bad sports penality from weaponized vehicles and it would be so much better. Or just turn off both and to people saying it will get only worse with grieving and stuff like that, it won't. Insurance and bad sports have been turned off on PC since ages and it's not getting any worse.

No one should be paying for weaponized PVs. Insurance needs to be removed from them.

Top question should have “No one” as an option.

The game’s insurance system has never detected who was being the aggressor, who was defending themselves, and who deserved getting killed once or a dozen times.

The cost, regardless of who pays, hasn’t been a deterrent to douchebaggery since 2013; and players whose mommies didn’t love them enough knew to put all cash on their other character and then they could kill without any fiscal penalty.

Not all weaponized vehicles are used for attacking other players, anyway; so should the VEHICLE be penalized for how some use it or the PLAYER?

I thought Insurance and Bad Sport were bad ideas from their inception, and it was really for one reason only... "how can you expect a major criminal in an open world who has access to military grade weaponry, explosives and vehicles, to give one iota of a damn about those things".

PC players have it a bit easier as the only time they're paying for insurance is when they destroy their own vehicle. I say "PC players have it a bit easier" but that's a farce in reality - the normal system has been turned off as a result of cheats, so... :/

No one should pay for them. Add that to the poll.

"Balancing" stuff via making it expensive never works. Look at ghost org and orbital strikes - being expensive just means they get spammed by people with illegitimate cash. People would still spam these vehicles like there's no tomorrow, even if they did pay for them. 20K out of 100 billion or whatever these guys have - that's nothing.

Most of the stuff is fairly balanced, though I don't think we should be able to spawn it next to us. It should be more like the Personal Aircraft spawns. That and insurance are the only things I'd change.

Insurance should be removed from the game entirely. If PC doesn't have to pay, consoles shouldn't either.

Poll is flawed. I can't answer either question as there are no suitable answers.

Nobody should pay for blowing up weaponized vehicles. Not owner, not a guy who blew it up.

Insurance should go completely, it servers nobody but R*. A lot of people making fun of PC platform because of the cheaters, but try to find one person who wants insurance turned back on. Some of new players even think that the way it is on PC is the only way.

Can't vote because the first question does not have "nobody" or something like that as an answer.

Why should I pay for defending myself against an attacker? Why should I pay for getting my vehicle destroyed by some dickhead? Neither of your choices makes any sense to me.

Removing the whole insurance payment system like they did on PC would be the best thing they could do. It honestly has changed everything for the better.

I can't answer the second question aswell. I like making $ in quite lobbys, I like exploring, i like collecting and customizing car and I like balanced/controlled PvP (Deathmatches with forced+pickup for example).

I agree with all in favour of no one paying these insurance bills.

Remove passive from them, like the gold aircraft. No insurances. No BS points for destroying these.

Personally, I don't get upset if any of my cars get destroyed either. Remove Mors Mutual Insurance altogether, I'd not care. So long as a blown vehicle just returns to my garage. It's all good.

By all means, keep the Mors thing, just for the roleplay/immersion factor out there, but drastically reduce/remove fee's. (I mean, $100 bucks or something trivial here).

It can be too frequent on those lively sessions, and we are only supposed to be having fun too. No need to hamper players earnings.

I haven't been in a fight with a griefer for a while now, but I think insurance should be removed from Weaponized Vehicles too, or at the bare minimum it should be like Personal Aircraft, where it just costs $1000 to replace and that's it.

Can't vote as there's no option for no insurance. IMO there should be no insurance or BS points attached to any weaponized vehicle.

Oppressors don't kill people, flaming, panty wearing, genital scarfing, ass-clowns who happen to be FLYING Oppressors kill people.

That being said, all weaponized vehicles should have the same destruction penalty as player owned aircraft. $1,000 each.

I shouldn't have to worry about $60,000 in insurance fees for strafing a yacht during Piracy Prevention simply because the CEO and his cohorts all parked their Deluxo's on the deck.

We must, we must, we must remove insurance , We must, we must, we must remove insurance( on weaponized vehicles)

Yeah, insurance on weaponized vehicles that cost 20k a pop is R* way to drain accounts and hopefully get people to buy Shark Cards, there is no reason why the insurance should be $20k,

This thread proves once again how ass backwards Rockstar can be. Gives us multitude of weaonized vehicles to destroy other players with, yet we get punished with insurance and a bad sport point when we fight back. I just think bad sport lobbies and insurance needs to be wiped out from this game completely. There's literally no good reason for it. Tryhard, greifers and whoever are gonna do whatever anyways.

The existence of insured weaponized vehicles is seriously killing the game.

Letting people go passive in weaponized vehicles is bad enough, but punishing players for daring to protect themselves and others from griefers is outright despicable.

These vehicles should act either like Pegasus vehicles or as Import/Export Special Vehicles. If Rockstar still has their head too far up their ass to do something as logical as this, then they should make the owner of the vehicle pay for its destruction instead.

1. Remove insurance.

2. Disable Passive for the rest of the time the player in the session once they have entered a weaponized vehicle.

3. Whenever someone drives it, the entire session is alerted with a "PING" noise and destroying it and the driver will award a bonus cash and RP.

4. Remove the K/D ratio.

>That one time when cheaters wanted to complacently ruin your game experience but they unintentionally made it way better then it was.

love the irony. R* improves something only when they are forced to do it...

I barely even have to pay for insurance since I'm always on a job. But I do agree - paying 20k for trying to protect yourself sounds like a horrible idea.

edit:

bottom line is - it works how it works cause R* wants people to troll you.

More griffing = less earnings in game = more sharkcards sold.

its the same answer as always.

I agree with all of the most users right here it should've been erased long time ago the insurance on weaponized vehicles but not on "standard vehicles" you know like savestra kamacho sabre etc, cause i know there are some trolls that like to destroy our PV in contact missions or heists make it a 20k penalty for that trolls so they would only pay for it if they destroy our vehicles in missions not in free roam but only for standard PV not the weaponized ones, so they can also erase that bad sport lobby, cause i don't want some players destroying my "cool hwhip" in their deluxo or other weaponized vehicles while in missions they should be charged 20k or maybe 50k

meh poll is rigged to be one sided!

anyway, in the early days insurance made a bit of sense, it varied depending on the value of the vehicle with $12,500(adder) being the highest.

at the time the amount of armed vehicles was soo small(3 if not mistaken) insurance made sense.

fast forward 4+ years later, the insurance is capped at 20k, the amount of armed vehicles available has gone up 20X, to the point we now have insured weaponized vehicles.

in a world where the average cost of anything is 1million dollars, 20k insurance is pocket change for most, making it a useless feature that should be removed from all platforms.

They really need to sort it out. Why is my insurance bill only $1000 for destroying one of my million dollar personal jets but $20,000 for one of my Oppressors?

And having to pay insurance for defending yourself is just backwards. It all reeks of the usual lack of testing on R*'s part. Lack of thought for sure.

Following the actual options of the poll, instead of complaining that there's no "nobody" option, I believe that the owner of said weaponized vehicle should have to foot the bill.

If I f*ck up and put my Deluxo or Oppressor in the drink, that's on me, that 20k is my fault, and I can pay for it pretty easily in the modern age. If someone else downs me while I spawncamp them with the missiles, it should still be on me to get back my expensive, dangerous toy.

Insurance for weaponized vehicles being fronted to the owner would dissuade more cash-strapped players from using them to f*ck with people, and would at least make a dent in those who have illegitimate money. I don't think I'd notice much, since I tend to not grief to begin with, but that 20k bill would likely stop me for a minute if I was the one forking over the cash.

What I'd like to see to help balance the vehicle is a cooldown on them. If your meme car gets blown up, you have to wait five minutes to call in another one, enter it via your garage, or call Mors Mutual to get it back. It'd prevent people from just calling in their Oppressor via the MC menu ad infinitum.

The higher the insurance cost the less likely someone is to blow up the vehicle

Wrong.

There are players who don't care about money at all - they glitched hundreds of millions of dollars already. Take a look at players who spam ghost organization 24/7 and waste 750 on the Orbital Cannon shots like it's some kind of normal business. People are glitching money as we speak.

You can't fix the broken game balance using the in-game economy system, because the latter is broken as well

Bandersnatch

Poll seems to be one sided I am afraid to say, few more options maybe ?

Insurance needs should be removed, complete bulls##t that I had to pay when I blew up oppressor while I was helping a mate deliver post op van...

We need someone to find a money glitch involving insurance which can only be patched by it's removal.
