Enigmaness
The Fixter is one of the rarest vehicles in the game, only having one mission appearance in the entire game (the fifth last Rampage mission, with the hipsters). The way you obtain the Fixter is you start the Rampage, killing hipsters and hope one spawns on a Fixter. After the Rampage is done, you grab the Fixter and take it to the garage. They come in a variety of colours, I don't know all of the possible variants, but the one I have is black with red rims (of course, these are not customizable). I'm looking to see how many people has a Fixter and what colours they have on it. So here is my Fixter (disclaimer: this is director mode, I do not have a Fixter in Online, not even sure that's possible without the use of mods): Collibosher, Alvarez, Snoopbr and 2 others
AUScowboy
+1 for fixie love. f*ck the hipsters who have recently co-opted them, I've been riding fixed gear mtn bikes for since the late 90s. Nothing puts hair on your chest and muscles on your legs like climbing a sharp, steep hill on a fixed gear cycle.
xXxKAMIKAZExXx
The Fixter is so Hipster it didn't even appear in the "I'm Not a Hipster" update. I believe I saved a blue one in story mode after that Rampage mission. Edited October 24, 2017 by xXxKAMIKAZExXx ash-274 and AUScowboy
whywontyoulisten
What is the point of a fixed gear bike other than "being special"? I can appreciate the simplicity of a single-speed, but to deprive yourself of the ability to freewheel seems utterly pointless, and a fast way to turn cycling into self-abuse. AUScowboy
The challenge and work out. I know the hipster crowd also used them for cycle polo. Basically it takes more grit and strength to climb hills with one gear, also there is less to maintain and fix, no derailleur to break or get caught between gears. Humberto from Vice City would say "men with big balls ride fixed gear bikes, separates the boys from the men!".
coelacanth72
There are a couple of practical arguments for fixies. The big one is that they climb better than a freewheeler because the drive train is so much stronger. You can literally just stand up on the thing and your body weight will crank it up a hill where a freewheel will start skipping gears. Idk this may be true of single speeds too. The other is simple efficiency, by removing as many moving parts as possible you eliminate the concomitant parasitic loss of power, as well as simplifying maintenance. They also ride very smoothly compared to freewheelers, or mine does at least with its steel frame and heavy messenger wheels. All that said, it takes a lot of practice to be as quick as a freewheel bike in a variety of conditions, and huge caveats come with all their strengths. Primarily when its time to slow down. M*A*R*I*N*A
I was under the impression that the Fixter was broken in some way? I thought I read that somewhere that the handling was not properly working. Also, is this thread really necessary? It's not an online vehicle... In-fact, I'm pretty sure it's blacklisted. Pedinhuh
I can understand the practical benefits of having a fixed gear, specially on uphills. But I can't fathom the benefits of not having brake disks and having the seat so abnormally higher than the handlebars...In fact I think that could be bad for your back. But alas, it doesn't make any sense to have this bike blacklisted at all, there are no bugs related to it. Would be nice to see it included in the game on the next update(if the predictions are right), give some to the hipsters. Meanwhile I would just plow them away from my face with either Sabre Turbo Custom, Schaffer V12 or my Phantom Custom...For that extra dose of irony XD

I can appreciate the simplicity of a single-speed, but to deprive yourself of the ability to freewheel seems utterly pointless, and a fast way to turn cycling into self-abuse. As an owner of several vintage track bikes... I can tell you riding them on the road is EXTREMELY dangerous! and not at all good for you :0. And yes a single speed with a freewheel is much faster for all kinds of reason (especially being able to turn sharply, which you can't do on a fixed gear because you dump and pedal into the road everytime). But the fixed gear in the game is AWESOME!. I brought one online once via SP-MP and after finding out I couldn't store it (blacklisted) I rode it around the entire map in a public lobby. Man.. I was living the dream, what a great day that was. I was so disappointed they didn't put it in I'm not a hipster, that made no sense at all. As for why fixed gear bikes still exist today, it's all about old retired track bikes and them being so "cool" that people started making replicas of them. As to why track bikes are track bikes.. they are heavily regulated in the track rule book. In Japan they still only allow steel bikes in Kerin racing. Fixed gear bikes (and single speeds) are faster than geared bikes on flat ground though, so that's something, just because they are more mechanically efficient and lighter and have a pure sprinting frame geometry. Here's one of my track bikes (this guy that build this one built bikes for the Olympic team in 84, which is around when this one was built) It's a very quick bike, but I just ride it nice and slow out in the bush ~! one in a while on a nice day. It weighs somewhere in the 7kg range. Oh yeah as this bike only has 16 spokes despite the hubs and wheels being 32 holes.. (in the pursuit of lighter weight and more aero) I can only ride it because I don't weight much and if I did hit a pothole the wheel would more than likely collapse, but it was like this when I got it so I leave it like that. I honestly don't even know why I collect track bikes.. Probably because they are harder to find than vintage road bikes. I want it because i like the style and the look of this bicycle. Not specificly directed at you: This whole: "You just want this vehicle because you cant have it.", thing is bullsh*t.
