TheOriginalGunslinger
The early October release date is laughable and comes off as a panic motion in my opinion. Ah yes, Children Online Day is back enrolling new players and current ones re-enrolling starting October 12th! Dbzk1999
Thinking that itll take place between BO2 and 3 if anything. Still in the future, but not close to 40 years like BO3 was so still a good amount of stuff to work with. Since Im pretty sure itll be botg too, I believe that treyarch will deliver, havent played COD since bo3 (man almost 3 years have already passed), so I look forward to it. Also curious about how the next iteration of Treyarch Zombies will be (fingers-crossed for MoTD remake)

Call of Duty Online (China's Free to Play CoD game) has a battle royale mode, and it really doesn't fit Call of Duty.
chronic lumbago
game-changing experience Lol. I hope Im wrong. I wouldnt be surprised if this game-changing experience is a Battle Royale mode. Wouldn't surprise me at all. BR is the new hype and it's just a matter of time till AAA developers take it over. Look at how broken PUBG is. It's going to take one good AAA game to take away all of its light.
Lemoyne outlaw
i am kind of excited. i just hope we get to see characters from the first two black ops. i hated bo 3s campaign. definitely the worst in the series. i loved bo 1 and 2. but 3 hardly felt like a bo game. and im not looking forward to zombies as much for two reasons. one because we have been getting zombies for the last 4 years. its getting reptitive. and second. because i hate all this easter egg crap. i miss the old days of black ops 1 and 2 when easter eggs werent as big. and the main thing i loved doing is just killing zombies. thats why i fell in love with it. because i just loved surviving against zombies. zombies today has been polluted by all these huge easter egg youtubers. its just not fun. so if they go back to their roots and do just survival only maps. i would be happy. but i doubt it will happen unfortunately. NeonDolphin
So CoD WW2 was the only one of its kind? Future BS in BO4 again? Rumours are this game is gonna use Battle.net instead of Steam. BenMitchell90
LMAO, that f*cking logo. Can't say I've ever seen Roman numerals used like that, hahaha. If they keep this up with the logos, I personally hope we get no end of Blops games, so that one day we get Black Ops IIIIIIIIII Anyway, I'm definitely interested. I've always been a fan of the series since the PC original, even though I don't play online, I generally like the campaigns. They're light, breezy shoot-em-up fun, even though they're definitely on the same tier as something like, say, Doom '16. And I'm eager to see what they do next with Black Ops. I've always enjoyed those entries, especially the second one, and I even like III quite a bit, controversial story and all. I dunno, it was definitely lacking compared to II, but it was just so weird and kinda ballsy for this series that I couldn't help but kinda appreciate it, and thought its sci-fi setting, gadgets, etc. were really neat. As for the fourth game, who knows. I'd love another look into the past, as I really don't think there's anywhere else to go with futuristic CoD after Infinite Warfare (a game I've really come to love, for the record). I'm a sucker for that historical conspiracy theory stuff that the first two games had so much fun with. But on the other hand, I wouldn't be opposed to another futuristic game, especially if it acts as a proper follow-up to II. But eh, I'm on board no matter what they do with it. My mom and I love playing these campaigns (seriously, my mom loves this sh*t She hated Infinite Warfare though), so it's as good as bought for us, haha. OnceAgainYoungFitzpatrick
Apparently, they've said that the Black Ops games have never been using roman numerals, but instead they've been tally marks. So, that explains why they didn't use IV. Also, don't expect a super duper sci-fi futuristic game like IW or BO3. Expect a more grounded approach to this one. Activision learned from the criticism of IW.
Edward Nashton
I guess they'll have a cooler looking logo when blops IIII comes out, but it looks pretty awkward right now, especially in plain text. I did a double take when I first saw this thread because, my mind registered it as III. And how long do they plan on keeping the tally mark theme? It'll look pretty ridiculous after five. Leftist Bastard
honestly at this point the anti call of duty circlejerk is more annoying and pathetic than the rabid fanboys. could be good, could be bad - reserving judgement till something more concrete is out. happygrowls

Thank you. I'm honestly excited because 3arc put out the better CoD's of the past 10 years imo. They deserve recognition, not blind hate over a f*cking roman numeral. Edward Nashton
Well damn, I think if any game used tally marks instead of the more conventional numbering we see, it'd be discussed and criticized - if GTA IV came out as 'GTA IIII', I'd still love it just the same, but I would always say how dumb it was for R* to use tally marks to number their games, we'd all be speculating about GTA IIII I right now. I mean, I liked CoD WW2 just fine, I don't have a blind hatred for the series, but it's just fun pointing out the silly sh*t some games do. Now excuse me, I've gotta get back to Final Fantasy IIII IIII IIII. 98 in 1

ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
CoD:WWII was the first CoD I've bought since Black Ops as I really dislike where they went with the game all the futuristic and zombies sh*t even though their target audience is 12 year olds but if they stay with a modern era game with modern weapons then I might considering buying BO4. It would be nice if they went back and took a page from the MW2 playbook for this year game. Instead we get tragedies like RDR2, which is by far worse than tally marks ever could be. The reason they're using Tallies instead of Roman Numberos is because of their target audience of 12 year olds wouldn't know it mean Blacks Ops 4, They would think it's called Black Ops I V (Eye-Vee) but than again they still might think it called Black Ops I I I I ( Eye, Eye, Eye. Eye)
Wingate167
Interestingly enough, there are older clocks where 4 uses four capital I's and not necessarily Roman Numerals. I might play it for the Zombies (the one for Black Ops 3 was a treat to watch).
