It was easy when the combat was a great balance between Wildlands and TD1. This patch fxcked the dog something fierce by nerfing practically every weapon but buffing NPCs. Reworking the Chem Launcher has made it unusable.

They haven't buffed the NPC's, they've nerfed the damn True Sons Shotgunners, as well as other up close enemies, and switching to Tier 5 and leveling there, the mobs are easier than Challenging Tier 4 to fight.  Now I'm on 'Hard' runs at a Gear Score of 489, I've even been using T5 crafted items to reach this point, now it's time to switch to grinding for those last level items as I head for 500.

The Healing Gel has had the timer nerfed, yes, but I'm a sniper and tend to hang back so it's fine for me generally.  Now I'm T5, I'm getting my skill power and such up, because the skill boards are becoming far more balanced.  I can now use duration and power extension plug ins, so I can use 1 to heal to 3/4 armor instead of stacking it.

Things seem more balanced and skills are much more usable at T5, but the new Green Sets ARE crap!  I cannot see any use for them as a sniper, so I'm sticking to golds for the weapon damage buffs currently.

im at lvl507 using the True Patriot gear set for now and i find the buffs and debuffs very usefull, makes running Tidal Basin on challenging much more easy for the rest of the group.

-decreases damage dealt by the enemy.

-restores armor to friendlies that shoot this enemy.

-boosts skill cooldown reduction to friendlies that shoot this enemy

im yet to get the holdster to get the final buff

-Shooting an enemy that has all three debuffs will deal 25% damage to other nearby enemies that have at least one of the debuffs.

i find myself applying the buffs alot since fights aren't just one shoot kills and actually take alot of time and teamwork.

i still want the ongoing directive gear set, killing an enemy gives explosive/incendiary bullets, kinda OP to me

Are you PC? The rework made it harder to drop at your feet on console, though apparently the one tap drop was a glitch and this is how they meant it to work.

Won't lie, I played a bit this weekend and got used to the new patch. Still don't like the new weapon mod system (really enjoyed the plus/minus aspect), but the gut reaction was after a veryyyyy long work week.

im on Pc, it was one tap and now two taps and it drops, minor inconvenience  it still drops fast

The way it was on console, which was apparently not the way it was intended, was to hold L1/LB to aim or just tap once to drop. There were many heals fired at enemies because of it.

Nope....

It's just decorative, like Bethesda are with the Gnomes and Teddy Bears around the various 3D Fallout maps.

I've found ducks kissing, playing games and generally being idiots all over Washington D.C.

In The Division, I remember there being dogs which were surprisingly...functional. Are there more animals in TD2, or even more varied and realistically-behaving birds?

Given the static nature of the otherwise visually realistic environment, this is one area that I think can help to add atmosphere. I avoid screenshots of games I haven't played, so my apologies if the question has been answered in that way.

I've seen deer, dogs. raccoons, foxes, cats, rats, various bird species....

They all act pretty well too and add to the atmosphere.  My biggest complaint is things look 'too' overgrown in places.  The game is supposed to be set about 6 months after the events in New York, but some plants and places look like they've been left growing for years.

Anyone still playing this game? I bought it and stopped playing back in May or June 2019. I stopped playing a few days after I reached Endgame, I did some Endgame missions but haven't completed all of it.

So how is it looking? Is it worth it going back to this game?

I just picked it up for $2.99, so I suppose I'll be checking it out sooner or later--assuming that my 2080 Ti is able to maintain 60 fps at 3840x2160 without egregious aliasing. I have to say, though, that the rapid price drop doesn't bode well.

I played The Division in 2016 because it was included with a GPU, but the TPP, something I already find non-ideal for a shooter, was exacerbated by insane damage sponginess. I guess it's obvious that this genre just appeals to a different gamer. I can handle grind to some degree, but only if it is in the service of good core gameplay, or auxiliary to other enjoyable, immersive aspects--I don't like grinding when grinding is the core gameplay.

It didn't have a great first year but they did a huge price drop because they're launching a big premium expansion for the game. Many developers/pubs, including Ubisoft, will have a huge discount on the main game (or even give it away for free) if they're dropping a hot new expansion.

And yea, it's a looter shooter, it's all about increasing your damage numbers which means bullet spongy enemies. The Division's setting makes it odd though, it's a realistic urban environment with realistic weaponry compared to say fantasy or sci-fi enemies where you don't have to mumbojumbo some explaination for why they can tank so many bullets/hits. The Division 2 seemed to do better with this in footage I saw of it (only played the first game), with visibly heavily armoured enemies, but I have no doubt it's still a part of the core gameplay.

Think they just dropped the price in anticipation of the new expansion, Warlords of New York, coming on 3/3. It's $30 in itself, and $33 including the base game. It's a good way to get new players to join up. $3 for D2 is frickin' steal.

I've played about 400 hours on/off since release, and loved it. Feel like I've got my money's worth, even having bought it at full price. :)

Saw it was $3 usd so picked it up on pc. Only ever played the beta on ps4, didn't hate it. Hopefully it's not terrible, EFT has spoiled me a little bit with looter shooters.

And yeah, the price drop is due to the upcoming expansion.

Kinda funny...

Last week I decided to revisit the Division 2.  For some reason I'm really enjoying it this go around.  It's all I've been playing.

Some of the subtle changes beween D1 and D2 are worth it.  I just turned lvl20 and haven't hit the dark zone yet.

The game is enjoyable.  I think the monotony of it all is where it suffers.  Even in D2 where they mix up the environment a bit...still, it all starts to look and feel the same.

*Feel free to join me on xbox.

I remember listening to a talk from the CEO behind the company that makes the very popular ARPG Path of Exile (Diablo style isometric looter, for those who don't know of the game) and he emphasised how important randomised tileset (level) generation was and how randomised environments and varied settings are incredibly important to breaking up the monotony of it all.

I've barked on about it in other threads, but these looter games that keep cropping up - Destiny, Division, Anthem, Outriders, etc - are all heavily inspired by PC MMORPG's and ARPG's, but they always take the wrong lessons from them leading to shallow experiences.

That's what it is really, a gorgeous looter shooter, and not much else. But that's enough for me, really. Playing with others, be it friends or just randoms, is key, though! The impact of that monotonous grind, especially when you hit the end game, is lessened when you mess around with a buddy or two. It needs that to drive it, when the story is as uninspired as it is.

I've probably spent 350'ish hours in end game, just grinding, redoing the same missions over and over, and collecting vast amounts of glorious loot. Still enjoy it quite, but glad there's a new map and content just around the corner!

Once you reach level 30 and World Tier 5, most of your time, if you're so inclined, will be spent optimizing and experimenting with builds. I enjoy this phase of looking for specific items to just give your damage output, survivability or skills that extra oompf.

I recently did a pistol-build around the exotic Dodge City Gunslinger holster, which really boosts the viability of using your secondary as your main - it's quite fun! Chews through anything at up to 80'ish meters.

And just a short display of the build in action here. :D

$3 is sure a good way to get people to play one of the other IPs. Just found out about this and snatched it right up, I'll play it sometime soon. :D

If it's not fun, I'll use the ubipoints gained from playing on a game I will enjoy like WD Legion or AC Ragnarok

Game looks absolutely beautiful... but man is it a bit boring playing with friends. Been playing with a group of mine, and we just steamroll through everything. The only time we had any difficulty was in a supply drop event, because enemies come from all sides and whatnot. Other than that? Very unstoppable.

Conversely, playing alone you have to be way more tactical about how you advance.

The Queenslayer

With GTA a little stale I decided last weekend to invest in TD2 (platinum'd TD1).

I'm a year behind, level 23 as I write, but I notice the matchmaking for missions is atrocious. With so many others having moved on already from the game I find myself somewhat isolated.  So if you want to game, message me.

Plus it's the perfect game at the somewhat right and ironic time.

i think most people are already to advanced to be queed with someone that just started. i was kicked twice just last night from backup requests bcuz i was to strong and was one-shooting all NPC's.

the game still have a large player base, its still fast queeing for missions, in challenging or heroic.
