March 1st I was able to play just fine online, now for the past 3 days anytime I try to go on, I always get "Timed out locating session." Apparently, I'm not the only one according to downdetector, about 88% of people have reported online not working for them. I know it's not on my end because my connection is fine, I have the requirements to join. I want to think it has something to do with R* "cracking down" on mod menus and such, since I play on my PS3 and modders are rampant on old gen as we all know. It's just ridiculous that R* isn't paying much attention seeing as this has been going on for 3 days now. I doubt they're unaware of it at this point. Anyone else having the same issues regardless of what console you're on?

Don't expect them to fix anything for old gen.. they barely do it for the current one.. just wait and see.. if you can't log in in 1 month, consider upgrading to next gen. preferably on pc to have 60fps but any current gen. would do.

^yeah not to be an asshole but yeah r* won't fix anything in old gen as they barely do anything on current gen. But hey you can get a powerful pc and buy a mod account there!! (jk, but it's a pretty good idea actually)

Old gen is abandoned by Rockstar. Don't expect something to get fixed, but connection issues, which is still odd.
Just take some time.

The server status for PS3 is listed as up and running currently. Sometimes it just happens, you get server issues for a few days and it goes back to normal.

Before anyone comes with the upgrade bs we do have the same issues on PS4. Just recently actually servers were really bad, friends couldnt get online for a couple days.

Honestly the game is seriously broken on all platforms.

My bet is R* are bu66ering about with stuff behind the scenes.

 

Lag and insta kills on DD heists jumped quite a bit in the last week. Enough that I've had to use all 10 body armours on the finale, whereas before 5 would be par.

 

This sort of thing has happened before in advance of an update.

This depends on what country you live in, and how much money you get. The PS4 isn't cheap everywhere. There are also those that still can't afford one now.

This depends on what country you live in, and how much money you get. The PS4 isn't cheap everywhere. There are also those that still can't afford one now.

 

 

Dude, thats what I said. But those who can afford internet and the online subscription should usually be able to afford a used PS4.

There is no subscription on PS3 - all you need to pay for is the console, disc and an internet connection. That alone is a big ongoing cost saving on top of the price of a PS4 and another copy of the game.

Glad to see it's not just me. I'd upgrade to PS4, but I'm not a heavy gamer, the only games I'd probably ever play are GTA and maybe The Sims 4. I just don't see the point in spending $300 on a new console and then paying to play online. I know it's not that much, but I enjoy being able to play for free still. :lol: Hopefully this issue gets fixed soon.

Trust me if I had enough money to buy a PS4 and could afford the monthly subscription, I would totally buy it, but right now I can't. That's why I still play on the PS3.

Also, I just discovered that Xbox and PSN both suffered from a massive DDoS attack March 1st, which was the last time I was able to play. Since PSN is doing maintenance today and tomorrow, hopefully this can be fixed by Friday/Saturday. Honestly don't know why anyone finds DDoS'ing to be funny. I've been blaming R* for all the wrong reasons. :dozing:
