My favorite is: wild wild west, with will smith and kevin kline. I hope Rockstar has added the same kind of stuff as dr arliss loveless has, like the big giant robot spider.

I hope you were joking?

My favorite would be Pale Rider, although there are so many good westerns.  Anything with John Wayne,  Clint Eastwood or Carles Bronson.  For comedy aspect,  Support your local Sheriff with James Garner was very good. Also, he has a probably best TV show ever, The Rockford Files although it is not western but still worth mentioning for those not familiar with the actor.

I saw” The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” (1948) yesterday, highly recommend it! It reminded me quite a bit of Clouzot’s ”The Wages of Fear” (1953) which is one of my all time favorite films.

If you believe that it might be slow or feel dated because of its age, think again! I was hooked from the very beginning and there’s never really a dull moment. Brilliant performances by the three lead actors as well; Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston and Tim Holt.

A mesmerizing portrayal of the old west and its people, filled to the brim with themes that still hold true for the human condition; hope, friendship, greed, jealousy, trust. Both humoristic and unbelievably grim at times.

Much recommended!

Young Guns, 1988

One of my favourite westerns that came out late 80's

The whole concept around a man (John Tunstall) who employees struggling youths to tend to his herd in New Mexico reminds me of Dutch in many ways. I could go on forever about the movie...but the magic is to watch it in all it's glory!

The movie also revolves around the story of Billy The Kid.

Young Guns is a retelling of the adventures of Billy the Kid during the Lincoln County War, which took place in New Mexico during 1877–78

Good take. Never gets old, I've seen it dozens of times.

One thing that always occurs to me when I watch a film like that - If they made this movie today, what 3 actors would even come close to Bogart, Houston & Holt?

NONE

That's why these movies hold up so well and I suppose will always have a fan base.

Probably "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", which is even much better in french dub than the original version, if you can believe it. Especially Tuco.

I think "For a Few Dollars More" would be close second.

I'd really like to see "Four Eyes and Six Guns", I have a vague memory of seeing it when I was much younger, and I know I really liked it.
