Kiwi_91 Posted March 3, 2018 Share Posted March 3, 2018 recently been a bit bored with gta online and the storymode and thought i'd have another go at gta 4. mainly for the multiplayer because its a much different experience than gta online. but i don't want to buy the game again just for the servers to close a few months later. anyone know/have an idea how long they'll still be up. it is a 10 year old game now... B Dawg Posted July 2, 2018 Share Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) Considering on the Xbox/PC side they're all handled by Microsoft (I don't think there are any serverS because Peer 2 Peer, just one master server), probably not in a long long time, if ever (especially since it's backwards compatible so if they do shut down Xbox 360 Online functionality, you'll still be able to play it on Xbox One). And no I dont mean the IVMP mod. B Dawg Posted July 7, 2018 Share Posted July 7, 2018 (edited) GFWL is not defunct, only it's marketplace. Go on the Xbox website and make an account (free), then use it to login in-game.
