Remove objects with map editor

Hello,

 

i want help with map editor. If i remove object in map editor my samp crashed. Some help ?

Another GTA Fan

What object did you remove? Was it connected to a LOD object? If so, you'd need to also remove it's LOD object from the map.

I've noticed some objects will crash the game just by positioning them on a different axis. A wooden fence I used would keep crashing the game when I tried to map it on an angle with the hill it was on.

 

The removed object may have some other factor depending on it when the game loads.

 

Sadly, there seems to be some consensus that the error dialog box is generally regarded as worthless for diagnotics.

Can you tell us more?

 

Were you mapping exterior objects or interior objects? Sometimes people will forget to add an appropriate interior parameter with their new object. That will cause it to not appear.

 

Were the objects modified in some way? Sometimes the texture isn't properly associated and objects wont appear properly.

 

Were the objects already in the game inventory? When people add new objects, they may forget to list them in the IDE. This can cause a crash.

 

Was the object placed at a strange angle, like upside down? Some objects will crash for some reason when this happens.

 

Was an object replaced? Some objects are associated with scripting the game requires.

 

Was an object moved or replaced from a stream? Streams are edited by a special editor; attempting to meddle with streams can cause instability.

 

Was the object mapped close to a vehicle? Vehicles tend to need some space around them when spawning.

 

If it was a new object, did you make sure to include and associate a proper collision file? A lack of a properly associated collision file can cause a crash.

 

If it was a new object, did you make certain to include an LOD file? A lack of an LOD file can cause instability or crash.

 

Do you have back-ups of your unmodded maps? Was this a new map altogether? Do you recall the last thing you changed before it crashed?

 

If you have back-ups of unmodded files and were modifying existing IPLs, you can diagnose the problem by reverting to the old IPL and simply adding each new line and starting until you find the entry that crashes the game.

 

Were any of the IPLs in conflict with a game-save? I keep an unmodded copy of the game directory and use a new game or clean save sometimes to check to see where a problem may be.

 

These are just some aspects. If you can share more details about the context and environment, it may be helpful. Perhaps you can post the IPL and explain what your intended goal was, how and when you discovered the problem. You could perhaps post it here or on paste-bin or some such.

 

I may not be able to check back tonight, but if you can give details clearly, perhaps it will be easier for others to help resolve.

Bad TXD Version can also make object not appear
