Hanger Missions (Air Freight)

Recommended Posts

Terran79

Hi I have a Hanger now and can do air freight missions but I'm finding them extremely hard to do for example my 1st mission was to source narcotics I had to shoot down a load of lasers which was easy but then when I landed I got shot up by buzzards and every time I respawned I respawned directly into the line of fire of the buzzards which made it impossible for me to get my gun out to shoot them down and when I did they respawned almost over my head.

Are there any guides on how to do these missions because I found it more than frustrating.

Also do you think rockstar might make any missions you an do like the motor cycle club where you can do some missions in online solo mode?

Here's your problem - landing.

In that particular mission:

- you take the plane

- you shoot down lasers until green box shows up

- you catch it before it hits the ground

- you fly back

There is nothing you can do with them.

I only can advice you to slowly move under their fire to the closest vehicle around, because inside you have better chances to survive.

Do not use rockets on Buzzards, they're infinite, but some of them shooting you, others have gunners on sides, so it's better just kill people and leave helicopters fly above you.

For the future always plan your mission, try to avoiding fight for a cargo above the water and too big mountains.

I tell you that as last, but this is the first point of Air Freight - aim to take cargo midair, minimize ground operations.

If hunger, get a sandwich :santa:

Hangar crate radius is way bigger than Special Cargo one, meaning that even if you fail to grab the crate mid air, its still possible to grab it without landing by flying a few meters right over the ground(1 or two meters? Idk exactly)

You have to practice a bit, but thats not hard, particulary with Nokota and Molotok missions, assuming you're talking about those missions.

Leave the source planes there or beter yet, destroy them on the tarmac. Use a hunter or akula instead. I look forward to that mission.

There are about a dozen jets to destroy in all before the reveal, then more after. Takes all of a minute to clear them all by spamming homing rockets.

It's super easy to catch the cargo in the air using a heli but more importantly, if you cant, you can get close over land or sea and pick them up.

Once you have it just haul arse back and ignore the buzzards, just take out the new jets if they show up. You will easily out run the buzzards but the Jets will rocket you from behind.

If you have to fight on the way back you may have to clear a wanted level before you drop supplies so the Akula here due to 2 star max wanted level using stealth will save minutes.

^^ he's probably playing his first 43 missions to unlock Hunter and other aircraft trade prices.

Yes. Maybe.

In that case maybe try the buzzard if you don't have a better one.

I found some of these missions easy and some hard. Some take forever, some don't.

If you ever get a mission where you have to escort the Titan, don't do it unless you are not alone in your organization. The Hydra is best for this, but the Buzzard is what I used in place of it.

The Hunter mission is really long and not really worth doing at all if there's just you doing the mission.

Basically, use the Buzzard or Hydra instead of what R* gives you. Try to do these missions with a full organization to make the longer missions more worthwhile.

Edit: You can't lock on to the helicopters attacking the Titan during the mission, but the Buzzard's machine gun makes short work of them. The Hydra has the same issue, but the cannon on the Hydra works perfectly.

No, but but the hunter and akula can easily pace them from above and drop bombs on them.

Did it yesterday and didn't wipe the smile off my face for 10 minutes.

.

You only need to destroy a single Buzzard, and well, it provides some target practice when using Barrage as anti-air weapons.

---------

Also a trick that works on PC:

-Rent the CEO Buzzard for 25k

-Play some missions in free roam

-When Its damaged go to Editor and then return to GTAO Online(or Invite Only)

-Your rented CEO Buzzard will be repaired with this trick. It might be useful too if you want farm Headhunter and you don't own a Buzzard

I was able to do this mission with that twin engine bomber with the turret.

Me too, but I found it easier with the heli. Especially once you pick up the package (or using it to pick up the package from land, sea AND air).

Best vehicle for the Mogul & Titan crate mission is the Buzzard, because hovering is much better (to stay behind the Titan with the Mogul, you practically have to stall a couple of times or circle around a lot, I've done it a lot) and the Savage's explosive cannon has a real chance of blowing up the Titan by accident.

As inconvenient as it may seem, use supply vehicles during certain ones, for example the Starling supply mission where you have to bomb targets, it is generally much better to use the resup Starling (as it has infinite bombs and is generally one of the best bombers in the game) than a Lazer (because it's a fast plane and you can smack into the ground, wasting tons of time) or Hydra (both jets have a low resistance to bullets, and blow up in one rocket. The AI have tons of RPGs during this mission and fire them off pretty sporadically. The Hydra also has a chance of you getting shot out of the cockpit, again wasting time). If you want to use a PA, use a SR vehicle for this mission (one of the new planes/helicopters with installable bombs, flares, rockets and guns, plus upgrades).

A mission where it'd be generally better to use either old jets would be the Molotok mission or the Nokota mission, provided you are fine with evading sh*t tons of missiles or you can get behind them w/o getting shot. I recommend the Pyro for this mission personally.

Generally, in most resupplies, aircrafts with bombs installed (infinite bombs) generally have a better reason to be used than most resup aircraft. For example, during the Seabreeze mission, it's better to use it because the bombs are infinite and there are targets on the water which will likely have crates in them (where it'd be better to use the Seabreeze, as it's ampibious), or on the land, where ground is an issue and you need a small vehicle with crash resistance (again, the resup vehicles are buffier than the OG aircraft). I'd preferably use a PA SR aircraft for this run, even though you don't have infinite bombs, the flares in a public session are a lifesaver and the aircrafts are much more buffed up with full armor than resup vehicles (I believe they have around 60% armor, might just be me).

Another mission I could talk about is the Hunter resupply. Use the Hunter, it's the best aircraft for this run. Either that, or use a PA Hunter, preferably the PA, as the regular Hunter doesn't have explosive cannons.

I'll end this off on any missions where you have vehicles with crates in them. Blow them up; it won't destroy the crates and you can pick up and carry the crates yourself, allowing you to use a vehicle of choice. This is a god send where you have crates in a unarmed Buzzard or a Boxville (or you are using the sh*tty Mogul during the start-up of the Hangar, blow it up and use an Akula in a full session. The Mogul doesn't stand a chance at all).

it seems like I don't have the planes and choppers I need yet at the moment I have the Cuban 800, that thing that looks like the Tucano trainer and the dodo which I had to use once because I shot the laser down over the see and had to use that to pick up the package I can't believe the Laser flying over it did not even engage me I then got chased buy buzzards but they could not catch it.

I do still fined these missions much more difficult than the missions you do for Trevor in story, Base invaders is easier also and the biker missions are easier also but they pay more money than the air freight business which is strange to me it leaves me asking should there be better rewards for air freight missions. I mean if I can get 20+ hard level base invader, and 20 k for completing the biker club missions should the air freight be the same as those or more?.

Also I really can't fly that Hunter attack helicopter I can not keep it still last time I tried that mission I was landing it and shooting the targets until a couple of other players decided to blow me up.

I don't find them (air freight) beneficial or profitable unless it's 2x on sales which is why I grinded out all last week.

You cannot blow up the titan during the escort mission. Your shots don´t do any damage to it. You can shoot the titan as much as you want with the cannon, she will take zero damage. I personally use the buzzard to keep my minigun aim up.

The rest of the missions i use either the savage or, for missions that includes enemy jets, lazer. More is not needed.

I've massively damaged 2, one with cannon and one by smacking into it with the Hunter. Both times I saw health bar on titan drop significantly. What platform?

For ps4 I can confirm that Lazer cannon does no damage, and contact with Titan in Lazer can not only damage, but permanent blow.

Eh, I tried already to blow up the Titan with my Savage and to suicide into with the Mogul. On PC. It just doesn't work. There is some kind of friendly fire so your only option is to leave the session/ask someone around to blow it up.

I managed to collect +100 alone by continuously leaving session once this Mission occured. Just a waste of time, better leave, respawn, play Headhunter in 2 min, then return to source. Or source 2 categories of goods...

For that mission where you have to destroy 3 planes (A,B,C) - best solution is to get something with explosive rounds (rogue/jets) since those planes can take a lot of rockets but they go down in seconds if you switch to explosive rounds (I think someone at R* screw up and forgot about that)

For the Escort Titan mission - hydra in hover mode works best I think. You can easily do it solo but it's kinda boring so I usually avoid it (change session)

If you want to use a PA, use a SR vehicle for this mission (one of the new planes/helicopters with installable bombs, flares, rockets and guns, plus upgrades).

Nah dropping bombs takes to much time in here. Too many targets (but its a good practice if you want)

I just fly there in something fast and then I switch for Pegasus Savage (since usually they have a spawn point right next to those targets). Nothing takes them out faster then that. And It's not hard to avoid those guys with rpgs since you kill everyone in couple seconds. Avenger also works well (it has a way bigger range then npcs)

Generally, in most resupplies, aircrafts with bombs installed (infinite bombs) generally have a better reason to be used than most resup aircraft. For example, during the Seabreeze mission, it's better to use it because the bombs are infinite and there are targets on the water which will likely have crates in them (where it'd be better to use the Seabreeze, as it's ampibious)

I would disagree - I never use provided vehicles. Simply because they are all stock with no upgrades. Your personal aircraft will always be faster. Yes if has less bombs, but you can easily take out all targets with what you have.

If you are a good pilot you can also use other planes since you don't have to actually touch the water to pick those crates. But remember that lock on won't work in here.
usually use Pyro in here cause its fast and I'm quite good with destroying those bouts without a lock on

Missions I avoid when I play alone cause they are a wast of time:

- stunt show
- hunter mission ( but if I have people with me - they take the hunter/jets and I take Havok/Thruster/Pyro/Rouge)

deliveries I avoid:

- havok
- mogul with cops
