I doubt there will be any difference from the PS 2 screenshots to be honest.  When TakeTwo announced improved graphics, I think that they are simply implying that the game will look better on the PC because you'll be viewing it on your High resolution monitor rather than on your low resolution tv.  Gamespot is using the same PS 2 screenshots for the PC version too.

Also, like GTA 3, the game will probably convert the textures for optimal performance with your video card, so the better the video card you have the better the graphics should appear.

You're scaring me man, really. I think it'll be better. If it took 8 months it must be. I really hope it wont be like GTA3:PC, If it is I will feel really ripped off and dissapointed.

Edit, nm, what i said was already posted above. But i still want to see screenshots that were actually taken from a PC version, as opposed to the PS2.

Yeah, I hope I'm wrong too, but I just can't think of a whole lot Rockstar can do to set the graphics apart from the PC version...actually, I can think of a few things such as offering a Hardware TnL support option, and just optimizing the engine overall to take better advantage of high-end hardware.

As near as i can tell, it looks about the same, which is good and bad. Bad, cause it looks bloody well the same. But good, because hopefully they spent more time making it run better, and maybe adding some extra options. And its not like it looked bad in the first place. Anyway, i think im gonna go get a copy of this months pc gamer, and suggest you all do as well :D

Again, a bigs thanks to Yablo4 for taking the pics. Which are the first ones of VC:PC on this site btw :p

Umm.. i might really sound like an idiot for asking this but.. here goes

what do they mean T&A in the little paragraph thing above www.gta3.com's poll?

heh, T&A, slang sexual term, meaning Tits and Ass.

Notice the headlights are normal (for now) and Tommy is anti-aliased, so his clothing and skin are smooooooooooothe, 2 things the pc vers of gta3 lacks...

they look alot more high res in the magazine , the camera doesn't help much =\ but they do look pretty nice, which is expected for the pc, lets just hope they don't mess it up like gta3 for pc was. also the article says if you have a good pc you can get really far draw distances.

Umm...You could anti-alliace and antisotropic filter gta3 no problem, it takes out all the jaggies.

AAAHHHH!!!!!!!! That does it...

Look at this pic, and read my caption below it.

smooth.jpg

Image 1. Taken from my gta3, during the first 8-ball mission, look how smooth the character is. my anistropic and anti-aliasing settings are normal.

Image 2. SAME SETTINGS, but now the player is pixelated. this is normal. Framerate is same as above.

Image 3. aa and anitstropic settings set to max. No change, except my framrate is down 50%. R* has player smoothing disabled for the standard player model. the playerp model gets smoothed out though, just like all the other peds in the game. If you look at early PC screens of gta3, the player was ALWAYS smoothed.

Changing your pc and game settings does nothing to fix this. There is some code in the game, that is preventing the player from being smoothed out, and i want R* to fix it for VC. how can i be the only person in existence to notice this?!

Well duh! that depends on the Grafic card dont it?

If I had my old G4 4200 64 mb and had 6x AA it

wouldn't do so very mucho. But if I took

My new Ati Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb ( love to write that! ) it would look like heaven. I remeber that was what exactly happened.  :D
