It's a good thing for new players.
But... This confirms Yan's info. The last update is near.

It will surely be CEO or Biker to enjoy. So Rockstar releases this Premium version.

For the price of $60 they are better off just buying Shark Cards

I don't know. In total, there is 11 million GTA$ content.
For someone who doesn't have GTA V, better buy this premium edition.
Rather than GTA V + sharkcards.

Maybe not but always amuses me with the "me gusta". I know that's just a language thing but still.. memes have ruined me.

Here is the back cover :)

40672674865_004d33b5e7_o.jpg

Singleplayer: One paragraph with two lines and three pictures to describe what should be the biggest selling point of game is about(and it barely tells anything).

Online: three paragraphs with four titles texts in bonded fonts, 8 lines in total to describe it, plus 6 images of the vehicles bundled with the pack.

Clearly shows what their priorities are, might as well have removed T, M and F from the front cover and just slap the GTA Online logo instead.

I guess PC doesn`t get this?

Seeing how Rockstar f*cked up the PC platform for GTA V by providing no proper anti-cheat because no dedicated servers, making everything overpriced which motivates begging, and falsely banning innocents while scriptkiddies are still on the loose, it made it the least profitable platform as it only totals to 2.5% copy sales.

I am absolutely sure that Rockstar will never touch PC again, but instead of blaming themselves for poorly handling it, they will blame the entire platform for not being profitable and will stick to consoles. I won't be surprised if RDR 2 or even GTA VI were revealed to be console exclusives.

I personally think Rockstar are kicking themselves for releasing the PC version. Its caused them more problems than its solved. Thousands have been banned due to a corrupt anti-cheat, 90% unable to retreive their data. Modders messing things up, etc. Despite it making them more money, it also made a lot of people stop playing.

They should just stick to consoles if they can't make a proper anti-cheat for PC in my opinion.

That 2.5% doesn`t account for other places (like SC), just Steam, right? I agree otherwise.

One has to remember that these fu*k-ups haven`t affected the whole PC playerbase though, but rather smaller portions of it.

I`m pretty sure they are going to keep releasing PC versions, since they said it themselves that they were pleased with how PC version of GTAV was performing sales wise.

I`m sure about one thing though, I doubt I will return to GTA VI after experience with GTA V.

You're implying here that the platform is at fault when, in fact, it is the fault of Rockstar for being so damn careless. It would not had caused them problems if they didn't create said problems in the first place.

They should just stick to consoles if they can't make a proper anti-cheat for PC in my opinion.

They're fully capable of making anti-cheat and having dedicated servers, but since putting some quality in their games takes away a small amount of the huge revenue theyre gaining, the oh-so-important shareholders won't be pleased at all.

They will stick to console because they don't need to make anti-cheat there, Sony and Microsoft already have them in place.

I don't really get why some of you are so mad about this. It's not for existing players. It's bait for potential new ones. You get a bundle of a game that now costs $30ish and game content they sell for $40ish, at a slight discount. Existing players would not buy this, and noobs who don't want the Criminal Enterprise pack can still buy the regular edition.

The only thing that irritates me here is that the Criminal Enterprise pack is as overpriced as the shark cards for what you get. But that's not a problem unique to this edition. All the stuff online costs too much in real money, we all know that.

The reason this whole situation bothers me is because it is setting up a bad precedent, not only for future Rockstar games (you can expect RDR2 Online will get milked like GTAO) but for other companies as well.

For some perspective, let's use the recent Battlefront 2 debacle. Up until Battlefront 2's release, game companies were constantly pushing the microtransaction and dlc transaction concept to see how far they could go. Up until BF2, most microtransactions didn't overly affect gameplay and loot boxes (which have been a staple in gaming for a long time) didn't exactly lock away stuff needed to remain competitive (although rpg loot drops from games in the past did offer nice upgraded items/weapons/etc). EA finally got called out on it by the player base and social media dropped the hammer on them hard to the point where EA revamped the entire progression system. As a result, games like Sea of Thieves did not incorporate microtransactions, Shadow of War is also having its microtransactions altered and EA claims that the upcoming Anthem will not repeat the mistakes of BF2. In the end, EA got caught basically extorting the players by creating a situation that overly encouraged microtransactions in order to use and enjoy essential parts of their game. How does this relate to Rockstar and GTAO?

Rockstar is essentially doing the same thing to the players of GTAO, just in a slightly different manner. Where as BF2 content was locked behind lockboxes, GTAO's content is purchasable at any time, it just takes an unreasonable amount of time to accrue the funds to get it, (unless you by shark cards). In order to use and enjoy these new elements of GTAO, players need businesses, equipment, vehicles, supplies, etc all the while, trying to avoid other players who have far superior military equipment that may or may not have obtained by simply playing the game. But, where EA got called out and controversy ensued, Rockstar has been allowed to slide under the radar and it boils down to the fact that these items required to access aspects of the game's online mode are essentially "optional". So Rockstar is given a free pass.

It was bad enough when players were forced to upgrade to the Xbox one version of GTA V in order to continue enjoying DLC. Which, from the logistical point of view I can understand as the X360 would eventually not be able to handle all the DLC stuff, but those who already owned the game (myself included) had no choice but to buy the Xbox One version at the full $60 price IF they wanted to continue playing without any breaks. There was no reduced price for "upgrading" like there was for games like Minecraft when they first switched to the XOne. The only real deal players got was being allowed to have their online characters cross over (and some free stuff for buying the new version, if I remember correctly). Personally, I waited until GTA V for XOne went on sale and bought the digital version. But nonetheless, this Premium edition will be the 4th version of this 5 year old game, it is packaged as though there is something special about it (like the typical GOTY edition of games) when in reality, it is just the same GTA V that we all have, just bundled with the shark card which can be bought online anyway. So for brand new players, yes that may be a great deal (except those few millions won't get them very far into the game). But for established players, this sets a bad example towards other developers who may get the idea that "hey, we can release the same game over and over, just repackage it, give them a little bitty carrot, make more money, and no one will say anything because we aren't EA".

EA showed everyone how to extort players and get caught. Rockstar is showing everyone how to extort players and not get caught (life imitating art, I suppose).

But this is effectively just an Online bundle. Yes? In fact the title isn't even just "Premium Edition," as long thought; it's "Premium Online Edition," per the posted box art. Of course this is their priority - Online is the only reason this thing even exists. They never released any real single player DLC to bundle into a more conventional premium edition. If you want an edition where single player is the selling point, stick to the original.

Don't mean to nitpick here but..when you get permanently banned, doesn't that key become useless considering you have to link it?

I'm sure cheaters have a heyday buying the game over and over..and over..and over. I've seen it happen in the past.

That'd be a well detailed fake, if I do say so myself..looks real.

Not to mention the packaging on the PS4 pic.

It's real. Someone just posted official R* link. And it's coming to PC as well.

It's whatever, if they sell, they sell..still feels like their scraping the bottom of the barrel to boost sales.

Marketing 101 though, right? Nothing we can do.

So it really is just a boxed version of something already available digitally. One last push for that 100m sold mark.
