^^^ No idea what just happened. Here's what I said: I'm pretty sure that the game disc is just the regular GTA V disc. The CESP will just be a download code and the update will just need to be downloaded like all the other updates. The whole "The DLC will be on the disc" just makes no sense, I don't know why people started theorising that.

How the f*ck do you not know what went wrong? You added a background to your comment, delete that sh*t and it will appear as normal.

I think the main reason that was speculated was because a) a lot of other games do that (although most games have a lot less DLC and fewer patches than GTA Online has had), and also b) when this edition was seemingly delayed from its original date (though possibly that date was never real to begin with?), there didn't seem to be much reason for it other than wanting to include some new content on the disc that wasn't ready to go yet. In other words - if this is just a copy of GTA V with slightly different box art and a download code, why did this take them ANY amount of time to release? That doesn't make much sense to me either. But I agree with you that putting all the GTA DLC on the disc arguably also doesn't make sense.

I dunno, the whole thing gives me a headache. But I lean toward thinking you're right, that this is just GTA V.

Whoo. That's bover $1,200 in us dollar. If I paid that much for a Galaxy, it better be an unlocked Galaxy note 9 with 256gb/512gb storage and Android 8.0 at least. And unlocked

My guess what the 'Premium Edition' is:

* GTA V SP

* GTA Online rank boost to 135

* GTA Online 'Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack'

And that's it.

Well I was close!

What a freakin rip-off, I am highly disappointed in the blanent money grab going on here.

This means 1 thing to me...GTAV is over, done, over-cooked, etc...

I am so let down by a company that I have loved for many years. There was no reason other than pure greed to do this. If this would have been a remasted GTA IV map added to GTA V, or DLC for story-mode - I would be right back in the game. I would have bought the new pack and everything.

Terrible move by R* in my opinion...

Depending on what the price is, it seems like an alright deal if you don't already have GTAV... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Its so sad that some ignorant customers will see this as a good deal. And even more sad that insread of rereleasing gta4or giving us information on a completely new game that's due in 6 months, they choose to milk a 5 year old cashcow even more. What even is rockstar anymore?

Wonder if it adds the cars/vehicles to single player at all. (Like they did until the transfer I believe).

Probably not, but at least throw single player a freakin' bone, lol.

What I really hate about this is how it's compounding big problem I have with GTAO these days - R* really wants everyone to be a CEO/biker/mercenary/stunt racer all at once, owning ALL the toys, and with the whole thing being turned into an expensive, formless mess of Content™, with no regard to setting or the like.

It's made all the more annoying by the fact that with everyone expected to own everything, the side-effect is that there's no real point to having rival organisations of different types, hiring organisation members, etc. Everyone's a one-person warlord, same as everyone else - and the only real ecosystem is just 'shooting all the other warlords on sight'.

Factor in the 'consolidating all the businesses' thing apparently coming in the summer, and it sounds like R* is going to take the few things that make motorcycle clubs and SecuroServ distinct from one another, dissolve them, and turn them all (quite literally) into just one big amorphous blob that covers everything. Way to take an imaginative idea with a whole lot of potential, waste that potential, and then retroactively make the original parts less interesting as well.

I don't really get why some of you are so mad about this. It's not for existing players. It's bait for potential new ones. You get a bundle of a game that now costs $30ish and game content they sell for $40ish, at a slight discount. Existing players would not buy this, and noobs who don't want the Criminal Enterprise pack can still buy the regular edition.

The only thing that irritates me here is that the Criminal Enterprise pack is as overpriced as the shark cards for what you get. But that's not a problem unique to this edition. All the stuff online costs too much in real money, we all know that.

One thing I'm curious about is the pricing.

Are they gonna take the starter pack into consideration and sell it for £95 just like the digital bundle?

Or are they gonna stick to £54?

This is essentially GTA's version of a GOTY edition and those never go for more than the usual £54. It'll be interesting to see what they do.

Pretty much - like I said in the next DLC thread, it seems like a more thorough way to keep selling GTA V to new players at full new game price, as opposed to the 'game + Shark card' bundles they've been doing up to now.

Again, what I hate is the way that the whole weaponized nonsense/military facility/big-money CEO stuff is now implicitly mandatory - particularly because they're pushing that on to new players. After all, it's not like Joe Q. Random necessarily knows what the Criminal Enterprise pack is when they're getting the game - they might well just misconstrue the whole thing as a feature-complete version of the game, buy it, download the pack, and presto: any newbie starting with this pack is automatically locked into the big-money extravagant/gimmicky stuff from day one.

"Just what you choose to do is up to you", right? :rol:

A lot of that stuff unlocks playable content so in a sense it really is mandatory, if you want to experience everything the game has to offer.

But it says all the online updates, you literally just have to log on to get all the new content. I recently loaded the PC version by accident. It took 10 mins to update. It is misrepensents this as some kindve of premiun feature instead of just saying GTA5 plus criminal starter for the free(mium)

Where does it say that? Maybe I'm missing it, but all I see on the front is V + Online + Criminal Enterprise Pack, and most of the back text seems to be about the starter pack, with a small block describing single player.

The box literally says nothing about "all online updates".

Yep, you are right, I was just about to post that my previous post was an error. I must have been combining some earlier posts. I thought it said updates. It distinctly says online premimum edition. I am an idiot.

Not that bad actually if you dont own the game.

Oh, I get that - but that doesn't make it any less of a problem.

For example, Smuggler's Run: if you don't really care for planes, or the public Freemode delivery grind, or owning a private hangar, then you're effectively doing without an entire update. Indeed, if you're someone who prefers things like proper, old-fashioned GTA PvE (like so many of the older contact missions), then there's not really been much new to cater to those tastes since VIP work in late 2015.

Oh Lord... They actually did slap the horrible starter pack onto the game just to call it a Premium Edition, even though it is literally the same game but with a bundle.

This is irritating to me because before GTA V corrupted Rockstar, any premium or GoTY editions of their games contained all the DLCs and some exclusive cosmetics. They have no shame of their obsession of underhanded corporate cashgrabs.

The f*cking nerve. To think, r* was the "badass, take no orders from anybody" developer.

I'm sorry, but when a highlight of your game is "You get f*cking free tattoos man." you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

You had the Doomsday Heist. But other than that, I get your meaning.

Kinda - you have to pay to skip public Freemode parts, there's not been any solo-able PvE since VIP work, and the annoying part of the Doomsday Heist is that in order to host the missions yourself, you have to fork out for an expensive piece of military kit yet again. If you don't want to own that sort of stuff, then you're reliant on friends/crew/randoms. So it's still all tied to the same set of overall problems as everything else.
